Chiang Caijiao looked at the door closing behind her, her eyes growing red again.
She wiped her tears and returned ho. As soon as she entered, she saw Ho Laidi sitting on the threshold of the main room, eyes gloomily fixed on her, while Song Xiyun was peering out from the kitchen, giving her a look.
Chiang Caijiao couldn’t understand the aning behind that look, but the intensity of Ho Laidi’s gaze frightened her, and she nervously called out, “Granny.”

Chiang Caijiao walked over, her hands trembling.
A filthy shoe was thrown at her face; Chiang Caijiao didn’t dare to dodge, and the shoe smacked her directly, the grimy sole leaving a cloud of dust on her face.
