Chapter 283: Chapter 283: Truly Heartless
“Little, did you know I was coming and ca out to et ?” When ng Xinian approached her, he stretched out his long leg, easily stepped down, and propped up the bicycle.
“Heh,” Chiang Xiao felt she had a sowhat sarcastically smiling deanor, “Captain ng, why have you co? Our Siyang Village is really brightened up by your entire presence.”
ng Xinian couldn’t help but reach out and knock on her head as soon as he heard what she said.
“Speak properly, cut out the sarcasm!”
Hadn’t she just irritated him with that sa tone of voice?
Where did this girl get such a fiery temperant?
And she no longer called him Brother Xinian.
“You…” Chiang Xiao saw Ding Dani and a bunch of kids, along with a few aunts, looking over from a distance, and imdiately lowered her voice, “Don’t get physical! What are you doing here?”
ng Xinian had already seen those people, he had attracted attention from many as soon as he entered the village, and so kids had even followed him all the way.
But he didn’t pay them any mind.
“Zhao Xin ca, why can’t I?” ng Xinian looked at her still angry eyes, feeling the itch in his hand again. He actually wanted to pinch her cheeks, but with so many people around, he thought better of it.
“What’s going on here?” He had already noticed the bustling scene, with half of the courtyard wall recently heightened.
The people bustling inside heard the noise and ca out to see, spotting a tall man in a Supervisor Guard uniform speaking affectionately to Chiang Xiao, and they all froze.
“Chiang Xiao, who is this?” Xu Lin, the son of Xu Canyuan, couldn’t help but ask.
“Brother Lin Zi, this is Captain ng, from Captain ng’s team,” Chiang Xiao said, also introducing him to the others.
ng Xinian’s noble brows twitched.
Before, there was Yong Cong Brother, now a Brother Lin Zi, and then for him—
It was Captain ng.
Suddenly, he felt that her calling him Brother Xinian might not be so pleasant either.
This girl’s “Brother” was becoming far too common and cheap.
Chiang Songhai and Ge Liutao also ca out and were startled when they saw ng Xinian, feeling suddenly clumsy and unsure.
Hadn’t they just quarreled with Chiang Xiao in the morning?
Could it be that he was here to settle accounts with Chiang Xiao?
“Captain ng, you, why have you co?”
ng Xinian felt that standing at the door in a daze wasn’t right, so he imdiately called out, “Grandpa, Grandma, could you ask a few uncles to lend a hand and bring the stuff inside?”
Everyone then noticed the pile of things on the back rack of his bicycle.
The villagers watched, intrigued partly because of his good looks and partly because of the pile of gifts.
No family in their village had ever had a relative bring so many valuable housewarming gifts.
And with ng Xinian calling them Grandpa and Grandma, they were utterly flabbergasted.
Wasn’t Chiang Laoer supposed to have only one daughter? And by age, Chiang Qingzhu couldn’t possibly have such a grown son, could she?
Ding Dani, seeing the tall ng Xinian and the loaded bike from afar, felt her eyes redden with envy.
“Uncle Yang, is this, is this your grandson?” Uncle Yang also couldn’t help but ask.
“No, no, he is, he is…” Chiang Songhai was at a loss, almost embarrassed, not quite knowing how to explain ng Xinian’s identity right then.
“Uncle, I am Chiang Xiao’s…” ng Xinian hadn’t finished speaking when Chiang Xiao interrupted him successfully by poking at his wound.
Hiss.
This girl was really heartless, repeatedly hitting right where it hurt!
“Uncle Yang, could you guys lend a hand?” Chiang Xiao gave Uncle Yang and the others a very sweet and obedient smile, as if she hadn’t caused any mischief at all.
No matter what ng Xinian had co for, standing at the door being gawked at wasn’t right; better to go inside first and talk later!
