The conversation was interrupted as the waiter ca in to serve the dishes.
Nian Che paused his words, “Co, everyone must be hungry, let’s eat first, eat.”
He looked at Chiang Xiao, “Little, don’t be polite, go ahead and eat.”
“If you keep calling
that, I can’t guarantee that I won’t throw this steaming hot soup in your face.”
Chiang Xiao said bluntly.
Although they had co, they had no intention of being polite to him.
Perhaps her words about throwing hot soup on his face reminded him of his own face being burnt and disfigured, and his expression suddenly darkened.
“Ha, I really don’t know who you take after with that temper.”
His words made Chiang Xiao’s heart skip a beat.
Out of nowhere, this sentence popped up. Did he know her dad, or did he know her mom?
She suddenly thought of Chen Zhu, who hadn’t been heard from in a long ti.
She gripped ng Xinian’s hand tightly.
ng Xinian imdiately squeezed her hand in return.
The table was full of dishes, but Chiang Xiao and ng Xinian had no intention of eating. Nian Mutong was still in shock and had no appetite to eat either.
However, the old Nian and Nian Tang acted as if they hadn’t eaten for days. Once the food was served, they seed to forget their fear of Nian Che and started devouring the food ravenously.
Chiang Xiao frowned as she watched them.
It was obvious they were previously locked up and starved by Nian Che.
Nian Che ca back this ti not only to take revenge on the ng Family but also on the old Nian who indirectly caused his mother’s death and forced him to live under others’ roofs, and on Nian Tang who bullied him, right?
Yet, she had no interest in what happened to the old Nian and Nian Tang.
In the private room, for a mont, there was only the sound of the mother and son wolfing down their food, while the others did not touch their chopsticks or speak.
Nian Mutong, with red eyes, looked at Nian Che, “You, since you are my dad, why are you only telling
now?”
Actually, she had grown up by his side. Saying she was his daughter wasn’t too hard to accept, but why hadn’t he ever said it before?
And now that he said it, what was the purpose?
And saying it in front of ng Xinian and Chiang Xiao, what did it have to do with them?
Nian Mutong felt puzzled.
Nian Che himself wasn’t eating but called for a bottle of wine. He poured himself a glass and downed it in one go.
Then he looked at Nian Mutong and said, “I didn’t want to say it before. Now that I’m back for good, I naturally tell everyone for the family reunion, what’s the problem?”
Is there truly no problem?
For a mont, Nian Mutong was at a loss for words.
What should she say? Should she thank him for always keeping her by his side, since she had little emotional attachnt to her supposed parents, and now she could accept this fact?
Nian Mutong looked again at ng Xinian and Chiang Xiao, feeling unsettled.
But what did this have to do with the two of them?
Even if it seed now that she and ng Xinian were indeed cousins, so what?
ng Xinian didn’t recognize it at all, and she felt there was no need for this relative relationship either. ng Xinian’s coldness made her a bit scared too.
Initially, she truly wanted such a tall, handso, and powerful brother, but now she didn’t dare to want that.
“Where’s my mom’s letter?” ng Xinian didn’t want to sit any longer and asked directly.
He originally thought it would take a lot of effort to get the letter from him, but unexpectedly, Nian Che readily took the letter out.
“You should recognize your mom’s handwriting, right? Every word was written by her own hand, take a look.”
