Chapter 1952: Chapter 1888: Can’t Find Him
It’s snowing...
Chiang Xiao looked at the three shops across the street and decided to check out the small pub first.
There’s a slim chance that ng Xinian, who never drank coffee, would sit in a coffee shop for hours.
Although he didn’t drink much, he could drink.
If he would choose any of these three places, the small pub was more likely.
As the door of the pub was pushed open, a bell chid, and soone behind the bar glanced up and welcod her.
However, the place, initially buzzing with chatter, fell silent for a mont when Chiang Xiao entered.
Several eyes looked over at Chiang Xiao.
Chiang Xiao quickly scanned the pub but did not see ng Xinian.
She paused, then walked over to the man behind the bar.
"Beautiful Oriental Miss, is there anything I can do for you?"
The bearded man grinned at her, revealing a set of big white teeth.
Chiang Xiao got straight to the point: "I was wondering if you’ve seen soone. Have you seen a young man, about this tall, around twenty-five or six years old? An Oriental man with black hair like mine."
She gestured to indicate ng Xinian’s height.
The man shook his head: "Sorry, I can’t help you. I haven’t seen him. If he had been here, I would rember; Orientals are not common here."
"Okay, thank you."
Chiang Xiao glanced around again and then exited.
In the corner, two n exchanged a look, leaned closer, and began to whisper.
"She’s quite a looker."
"Yes, I like her. Oriental won have flair, and now I see it’s true. Her eyes are dark and shining, her lips like petals, and her waist is incredibly small, barely half my size."
"What do you suggest?"
"If she’s here, she’s probably staying at the hotel up front, and people staying there aren’t ordinary. This Oriental beauty being able to co to Country Y and stay at the Aifeisa Hotel might not be a common person either."
"Are you scared?"
"Not scared, just don’t want trouble."
"Why don’t we go out and take a look? If she heads back to the hotel, we return. But if she goes toward Sribu Street..." The man’s eyes flashed with a hint of malice.
"Sribu Street is quite chaotic at night; does an Oriental girl dare to go there?"
"Who knows? Let’s take a chance. After all, we have nothing to do tonight, right?"
"That’s true. Let’s go then."
"Let’s go."
The two n picked up the hats on their chairs, put them on low over their faces, paid, and walked out.
Chiang Xiao also inquired at the coffee shop and the fried chicken shop, and predictably found nothing.
During the day, this place was bustling with traffic, and she had noticed before that these shops did good business.
So, ng Xinian went out in the afternoon, and it seed normal that no one noticed.
Beyond these shops was a small square, lively during the day with street perforrs and people feeding pigeons, but now it was quite deserted and very dark.
Chiang Xiao recalled what Pheng Fei said while driving them past here.
"It’s quite lively here during the day, worth a stroll, but don’t co here at night. Opposite the square is a den of debauchery; at night, it’s chaotic with all sorts of people mixing, especially unsafe for won."
