Chapter 1869: Chapter 1805: Mountain Dwelling Savages

Moreover, so may be found but not necessarily excavated.

They originally planned for two days, but ended up spending three and a half.

Including the ti to return, four days passed in the mountains.

On the last day, they didn’t bathe or change clothes in the space to avoid coming out looking fresh and clean, unlike having been in the mountains for four days.

But even after just one day, they still erged filthy, hair in disarray.

Climbing up and down, crawling through bushes and mud pits, sliding on grass, swinging down on vines—how could they stay clean?

Dai Gang was startled when he saw them.

"Great Officer, Sister-in-law, you really look like mountain savages!"

"Get lost."

ng Xinian glanced at him, then said to Chiang Xiao, "I’ll borrow a bucket from the expert team to fetch hot water for your bath. You rest for a while first."

They could bathe and change clothes in the space, but upon reaching the camp, they should adhere to normal routine.

Chiang Xiao nodded.

As soon as ng Xinian walked away, she grabbed Dai Gang.

"Dai Gang, has anything happened in the Capital these past few days?"

The camp had communication with the outside.

"Nothing much, but," Dai Gang looked at Chiang Xiao and whispered, "Guard Lee called yesterday to ask if you returned from the mountains. I said not yet, and he didn’t say much. Sister-in-law, are you familiar with the Chief Alliance Officer?"

Although Dai Gang was on the mission with them, he was still unaware of Chiang Xiao’s relationship with Li Hanzhong.

He found Guard Lee’s call odd because the first inquiry was about Chiang Xiao.

"Yes, I know him." Chiang Xiao pursed her lips, suppressing a laugh.

Dai Gang sounded as if he had uncovered sothing quite strange.

He should have been quite surprised, but no matter how he guessed, he wouldn’t uncover the truth.

Previously, Chiang Xiao never imagined she would be connected to the Jiang Family, and that Li Hanzhong would be her paternal uncle.

"Sister-in-law, I really admire you! Amazing."

Dai Gang gave her a thumbs-up.

Despite his curiosity and surprise, he didn’t further inquire.

Chiang Xiao figured that ng Xinian probably brought Dai Gang to Anbu Town and took him along this mission because of his reliability and steadiness.

If it were Zhao Xin, maybe he would have been incessantly curious about her relationship with Li Hanzhong.

"Little, co over and bathe." ng Xinian carried a bucket of steaming water towards the camp’s makeshift shower and took the water inside, then stood at the door.

"Sister-in-law, Great Officer is going to stand guard for you."

Dai Gang said while holding back his laughter.

ng Xinian soon shouted at him, "You, go farther!"

He didn’t even want the sound of Chiang Xiao’s bath to be heard by another man.

Dai Gang clicked his tongue and quickly ran away.

Chiang Xiao’s face flushed slightly as she walked to the shower and looked at ng Xinian: "Brother Xinian, are you really going to stand guard here?"

"Little fool," ng Xinian whispered to her, "Once inside quickly bathe, change clothes, then splash the water inside."

The makeshift shower was too simple; there was a small section on top not fully enclosed. It was chilly in the dead of winter; bathing in the space was much better.

He could endure it later.

Chiang Xiao pursed her lips.

This man was truly ticulous with her.

After freshening up, they didn’t delay further and imdiately departed back to the Capital.

They reached the Capital City just as the city lights began to shine.

Chiang Xiao and ng Xinian first called Xiao Li, who breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing they had returned and said, "Good thing you’re back. Head to the hospital first."
