Chapter 1616: Chapter 1618 Stirred Up Trouble

Fu Mingfeng shook his head, laughing helplessly. He had truly been outdone by this master and apprentice pair.

Their arrival disrupted the tranquility of Shitou Town.

Shitou Town didn’t have a guesthouse, so Fu Mingfeng and Liu Guoying went to discuss with the town mayor. In the end, they were told that so of the group could stay in the town’s old commune, and the rest could stay at the town’s school.

As for als, they hired three won to cook for them in the kitchen at the old commune.

Of course, the living conditions weren’t great—so even had to sleep on makeshift beds pushed together from tables. But given the nature of the place, just having sowhere to stay was already a blessing.

Thankfully, Fu Mingfeng had so idea of the local conditions and had everyone bring their own bedding rolls.

Still, many people had to sleep in a communal dormitory.

Even Liu Guoying and Fu Mingfeng weren’t exceptions.

As soon as they got off the bus, He Jin and Wu Xiayue disappeared. By the ti the group was getting settled, the two finally returned.

“Xiao Chiang, are you squeezing in with everyone too?”

Wu Xiayue found Chiang Xiao just as she was setting a small bench at the edge of her makeshift bed. The bedding barely fit, and since Chiang Xiao was tall, her feet dangled off the end, so she had to use a bench as an extension.

“Mm, what else could I do?” Chiang Xiao glanced at her. “You’re staying at the school with He Jin?”

“We’re not at the school. We talked to the town mayor and arranged to stay at his house.” Wu Xiayue giggled. “If I stayed here, I’d have to squeeze in and even be separated from He Jin. No way I’d agree to that.”

Chiang Xiao wordlessly gave her a thumbs-up.

He Jin called out from outside.

“Xiao Chiang! Hurry up, co out! Let’s head up the mountain to hunt birds. Want to join? We need food for a bigger dinner tonight—there’s definitely not enough here to eat!”

“Why’s he calling you and not ?” Wu Xiayue imdiately glared at her.

“Probably because he knows you’d tag along regardless, so there’s no need to call you,” Chiang Xiao dusted off her hands, then walked out. When she saw He Jin holding a slingshot, she was instantly at a loss for words.

“A slingshot? Are you sure you can actually hit anything?”

“I’m a pro with the slingshot! Co on, I’ll prove it to you!”

While Chiang Xiao was beginning her life in Shitou Town, chaos was brewing in the Kong Family.

Kuang Qingqing was throwing a bigger tantrum than ever before.

That day, she even smashed her rice bowl and scread at Kuang Kanzhi.

“How old am I now? Before, you kept insisting I find soone and get married quickly. Now that I’ve found soone, you’re forbidding

from marrying him. What’s the aning of this?”

Kuang Kanzhi rubbed his temples, trying to reason with her. “Qingqing, did your dad say you can’t marry? No one hopes more than I do for you to find the right partner and build a happy family. But this person cannot be Lee Wenwei. Your mom and I have both looked into it—the Lee family is just an ordinary…”

“What’s wrong with being ordinary? Ordinary is good!” Kuang Qingqing slamd the table and stood up abruptly. “Our family isn’t ordinary, and yet you still keep sothing like *that* in our ho!”

As she spoke, Kuang Qingqing pointed one finger toward the direction of Chiang Qingzhu’s room.

“The Wenwei family may be ordinary, but his parents have an incredible relationship! Their family doesn’t take mistresses! He also wouldn’t be like you—so bewitched by so vixen that you’ve turned into a fool, sneaking into her room every night. Sotis, I can even hear the noises!”

“Qingqing!”

Kuang Kanzhi, utterly humiliated and enraged, shot to his feet. “Don’t say such outrageous things!”

“What right do you have to lecture

now?” Kuang Qingqing glared at him. “Anyway, I’m going to marry Lee Wenwei. If you don’t let , I’ll expose your affair with that vixen to the world!”
