Chapter 1479: Chapter 1481: Heart Throbbing
ng Xinian listened to the sound of the phone being hung up, his eyes flickering slightly.
Hmm, he was waiting for her to actually co and flirt with him.
If she doesn’t flirt by then, he will…
Chiang Xiao ran over to Kuang Yunxian’s car and knocked on the window.
Kuang Yunxian had indeed just fallen asleep, but it was a restless slumber. Hearing the knocking, he instantly sat up straight and turned his head to look at Chiang Xiao, surprised to see her cheeks flushed.
He opened the car door for her, and as she sat down, he asked, “Xiao Chiang, are you feeling hot?”
“Not hot, no.”
It was almost November; how could it be hot?
The ti had co for a season of coolness following autumn rains.
“Your face looks very red.”
Chiang Xiao subconsciously covered her face, “Well, I just washed my face, maybe I used too much hot water.”
Kuang Yunxian didn’t question her and started the car.
Chiang Xiao breathed a sigh of relief and couldn’t help but inwardly curse Tyrant ng.
It was all that guy’s fault. How unreasonable of him to make such ambiguous remarks?
Now she was sowhat terrified of marriage.
She felt certain she would be completely devoured after getting married.
The more Chiang Xiao thought about it, the hotter her face and the faster her heartbeat beca. Glancing at the car mirror, she saw her reflection with cheeks red as sunset, nearly dying of embarrassnt.
Why keep thinking about this?
Chiang Xiao quickly searched for another topic to distract herself.
“Brother Kuang, where are we heading?”
“We’ll find a place close to the restaurant where Old Tang’s birthday banquet is being held, so we won’t be late.”
“Oh, alright.”
Although Kuang Yunxian had rarely returned to Capital City in recent years, he still had a general idea of so places.
Especially the area around the restaurant where the Tang Family’s banquet was to be held, which was already a bustling part of Capital City.
He found a newly opened tea house diagonally across from the restaurant, parked the car, and led Chiang Xiao inside.
The tea house had two floors, and after consulting with her opinion, Kuang Yunxian led her to the second floor.
The second floor had twin empty walls with rounded wooden railings, beside which several simple tea tables were placed. Fortunately, one table was still vacant.
The two sat opposite each other, and Kuang Yunxian ordered three kinds of snacks and a pot of tea.
Once the items were served, Chiang Xiao began peeling red-skinned peanuts.
“Hungry?”
“A little. I didn’t eat much for lunch.” Chiang Xiao nodded honestly, adding, “But we’ll be having the birthday banquet later on, so just so snacks to tide
over will do.”
Seeing this, Kuang Yunxian poured her a cup of tea, then started to peel peanuts as well. He put the peanuts on one side and passed them to her, “Here.”
Although he did it casually and naturally, Chiang Xiao was montarily startled and quickly shook her head, “No need, Brother Kuang, I’m not a child anymore, I can peel them myself. I’d rather keep my hands busy, you should have so too.”
Kuang Yunxian withdrew his hand and smiled faintly, “Alright, I’ll have so too.”
As they peeled peanuts and drank tea, Chiang Xiao couldn’t help but ask out loud.
“Brother Kuang, why didn’t you tell Xinian and
earlier that the house next to ours belongs to you?”
Kuang Yunxian also caught her use of “our house.”
She already considered Xinian part of her family.
“Initially, I really didn’t know it would be such a coincidence to actually be neighbors. Later, I thought it’s best to recover the property first before saying anything. Otherwise, there was no point in worrying you and Xinian over this matter,” Kuang Yunxian explained.
Recalling the question ng Xinian asked her to inquire about, Chiang Xiao took a sip of tea and asked directly.
“So, you never thought about claiming the house before; why are you suddenly intent on taking it back now?”
