??Chapter 1291: Chapter 1292: Overnight Stay in the Mountains

Chapter 1291: Chapter 1292: Overnight Stay in the Mountains

Chiang Xiao laughed and nudged his chest with the back of her elbow, and then ng Xinian also began to laugh.

His laughter seed to possess a seductive power that made one’s heart skip a beat.

It seems that what people say is true, the more indifferent a person usually is, the more magical their smile could be when it blooms.

ng Xinian appeared to be just such a person.

Could it be that he truly liked Chiang Xiao, a girl who hadn’t yet fully blossod?

“Quick, look, it’s so beautiful over there!” Ye Xiaoning pointed at a mountain ahead and exclaid.

The mountain had a very unique shape, dipping down in the middle, with its sides higher up, looking like a giant bowl from where they were standing.

The sun sat just above the bowl, orange and beautiful, tinging the surrounding clouds red.

“Doesn’t it look like a salted egg yolk is about to fall into the bowl?” Wang Yi turned and said to Chen Yin.

Chen Yin nodded, “It does.”

Chiang Xiao teased, “Wang Yi, you must be hungry, right?”

Everyone else couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

Chiang Xiao sat on the grass, with ng Xinian sitting behind her, allowing her to lean against his chest.

Since everyone already knew about their relationship, he didn’t mind letting them see him be a bit more affectionate with Chiang Xiao.

“Aren’t you hungry? Tonight, you’ll get to eat wild rabbit legs roasted personally by Commander ng!” Wang Yi made a face at Chiang Xiao and then turned back, looking at Chen Yin expectantly.

“Okay, I get it, I won’t go back on my word. I’ll go hunting with Xinian,” Chen Yin said, looking at her scratched knees and then her palms, “You didn’t desperately want to win just for this, did you?”

Wang Yi nodded.

She felt that eating the wild rabbit he roasted himself would be very blissful.

“Fool,” Chen Yin couldn’t help but ruffle her hair again.

After enjoying the scenic view, they descended the hillside and continued on their journey.

According to Professor Qiu’s planned route, they still had an hour’s drive to their place for the night.

There was a small inn by the roadside.

The inn was simple, just two rows of wooden houses, and each room had a faint musty sll.

Because the road to Shier Bridge was very remote, locals had set up this small inn, managed only by a middle-aged couple, the wife’s legs being not quite functional, limping as she walked.

Both of them didn’t appear to be very diligent, the two square tables in the hall were coated with a thin layer of grease.

But in such a place, there wasn’t much to be picky about.

Their rooms were just enough to accommodate them, not counting ng Xinian and Wang Yi.

Since they hadn’t signed up, Professor Qiu hadn’t included them in the count when arranging the accommodations.

The won were to share rooms, two to a room.

Fortunately, Chen Yin had originally booked a single room for himself, so he simply gave his room to Chiang Xiao and Wang Yi to sleep in, and he and ng Xinian would make do in the car for the night.

The food here was also sowhat hard to swallow. After settling in, ng Xinian went up the mountain to hunt with Chen Yin, amid everyone’s expectant gazes.

“It’s getting dark soon, isn’t it dangerous for them to go up the mountain at this ti?”

Originally looking forward to the rabbit at personally caught and roasted by Chen Yin, Wang Yi began to worry as she watched them depart.

Yet Chiang Xiao wasn’t worried about ng Xinian.

It was getting late, and ng Xinian surely wouldn’t venture too far, and with his skills, she really wasn’t too concerned.

“Don’t worry. Would you like to freshen up?”

Chiang Xiao pointed towards the bathroom at the end of the corridor.
