Yang Dongfeng sighed as he rembered, "Ah, I owe my daughter."
Zhao Jieyun snorted, "Hurry up and do the laundry. After you're done, let's go see Sun Chan, make it up to her by cooking sothing delicious. Plus, she was supposed to go on a trip but got sick, so she's probably really upset! Let's help watch the house and let them go."

Their intentions were good, but Sun Chan still didn't go because Wang Dan's son was getting married.

Sun Chan asked curiously, "What's wrong with you? You look worrying, is your health not good?"
Wang Dan smiled, "I'm getting a divorce."
"What did you say? You must be joking, right?" Sun Chan exclaid, her eyes wide open in shock.
"After the wedding ceremony is over, more or less, I won't have to pretend anymore. My daughter-in-law won't divorce just because her father-in-law and I are divorcing."
"Why on earth?" Sun Chan was anxious, "You two have such a good relationship! All these years, always so happy."
"Ah, it's the usual stuff." Wang Dan said helplessly.
Sun Chan's eyes widened, "An affair?"
She had seen plenty over the years, as soon as n had money, things happened, flirting with young girls, and n hitting on won all over, could it be that Wang Dan's husband was tired of his good days and wanted sothing new?
"Hmph, as if he'd dare!" Wang Dan crossed her legs and sneered, "He'd dare have an affair? I wouldn't have stayed till now! I'd have made him a eunuch, or put sothing in the water; I couldn't let his cucumber be unclean! If I don't use it, no one else can!"
Sun Chan broke out in a cold sweat; she was just as domineering as ever.
The conflict between the two was actually about the mother-in-law relationship. Years back, Wang Dan was the main breadwinner, and the in-laws fully supported her, letting her have her way. But now, the family had money. The in-laws lived in a small villa and had started to feel they could suppress Wang Dan a little.
"A woman still needs to manage the household; she can't always be outside running around. Let your husband take care of the company matters."
"Having only one child in this life isn't lonely? We told you to have more kids back then. Why didn't you?"
"How can you talk to our son like that? He's your husband; he should be your world."
Wang Dan snorted, "Was it because you saw my mother pass away, and there's no one to restrain you now?"
Sun Chan consoled her, suggesting that since they didn't live together, so occasional nagging was tolerable.
"If it were just these things, I wouldn't bother. But lately, it's gotten worse."
The son's family had money, buying and selling fancy villas and luxury cars, naturally attracting attention, and relatives started leeching on them. They practically treated them like easy targets, expecting them to pay for everything.
From birthdays to full moons, to soone's grave needing fixing, temple renovations, all sorts of troubles needed their financial backing.
Wang Dan's husband didn't know how to decline, letting his wife bear the costs. Seeing that money could be eked out, these people surrounded them, asking to borrow tens of thousands at a ti. Others wanted their son adopted by Wang Dan's husband or wanted to send their child to the company as a leader, and so even pushed their attractive daughters onto them.
"This way they could get all the property. And the one sent over was my mother-in-law's granddaughter, arranged personally by my mother-in-law! She said I was old, couldn't give birth, so why not find another woman to have more kids."
Sun Chan frowned, "They really don't want you to live well."
"Repressed for so long, they finally have a chance to turn the tables." Wang Dan said with a smile.
Initially, Wang Dan was a village girl, and her husband was from the city. Naturally, her in-laws were dissatisfied, but since their son was infatuated, they agreed to the marriage. The wedding still had issues over the house and dowry, but Wang Dan held onto her husband and made him stand by her side, so it was basically whatever she said, went.
Later on, she had a son, succeeded in business, bought houses, cooked, and managed the household excellently. How could her in-laws not feel suppressed?
But now, her son had made sothing of himself, owning several properties, and they wanted to turn things around and be the masters.
"They just don't want to live peacefully anymore." Wang Dan laughed coldly. "So I'll grant them their wish. I told my husband, it's natural for to respect your parents, but are your nurous aunts and relatives treating us like fools? Our money isn't blown in by the wind, and you think you can do whatever you want? We'll get a divorce, and if you want to play along, you can go play along!"
"And then what?"

As an outsider, Sun Chan naturally tried to diate and not encourage a divorce, but Wang Dan was stubborn and wouldn't change her mind.
"If he keeps thinking I'm just throwing a tantrum and doesn't realize I'm truly disheartened about his parents, then I can't live with him anymore."
Sun Chan nodded and smiled, "Alright, don't fu anymore, let's go see a movie."
"Sure." She then went to see a movie with Sun Chan.
