Li Xuei pushed away Han Qi and helped him sit down on the sofa. Mainly because both Han Qi and the child in his arms were covered in snot and tears, looking dreadfully ssy, and while crying, he sared snot on Li Xuei’s coat.

It’s not that she dislikes them, but this was too filthy.

They didn’t show any sign of being presentable, and Li Xuei didn’t feel right pushing them away.

"Xiaoqing, what’s going on here?"

Li Xuei finally managed to pull her coat out from Han Qi’s arms and asked Gu Xiaoqing. She wouldn’t simply take one side’s word and bla her daughter.

Their family is very protective.

Especially Gu Xiaoqing; in Li Xuei and Gu Ruhai’s eyes, Gu Xiaoqing was a child who had it all together. How could she do sothing so reckless?

No one could just sar Gu Xiaoqing’s reputation like that.

Gu Xiaoqing ca over and helped Li Xuei take off her coat. Seeing her mom endure so hard, Gu Xiaoqing inwardly laughed, knowing how troubleso Han Qi was now.

Li Xuei finally exhaled a sigh of relief; this daughter-in-law from Jianguo’s side made her speechless.

Though she also ca from the countryside, basic cleanliness isn’t a problem of rural people. Even in rural areas, many wives keep things tidy, managing their hos and children neatly. Wife like Han Qi, who are ssy, are really rare.

Li Jianhui pulled Wu Fengying over, pushing Li Jianguo aside. Mainly because Li Jianguo said nothing, even when Li Xuei was asking all these questions. Even as he heard Han Qi spout nonsense, twisting the truth to sar Gu Xiaoqing, he didn’t react, not even showing a hint of sha, making Jianhui cold-hearted.

"Aunt, it’s alright. We ourselves are at fault; it has nothing to do with Xiaoqing. We’re grown-ups, yet acting all sobbing, it’s shaful."

Jianhui explained, afraid Aunt would bla Gu Xiaoqing.

Han Qi stopped crying, glaring at Jianhui: "Jianhui, what do you an by your words? Don’t turn your elbows outward."

Gu Xiaoqing laughed, thinking Han Qi really wasn’t thinking straight; how could he say such things?

If her mom were considered an outsider, then what exactly was Han Qi?

Wu Fengying wouldn’t take it. Han Qi troubling Li Jianguo might be their couple’s issue, but what right does Han Qi have to scold our Jianhui?

"What do you an by turning elbows outward? Is Aunt and Uncle considered outsiders or is Xiaoqing an outsider? Your words an Jianhui can’t speak the truth, when it really has nothing to do with Xiaoqing. You can’t control your mouth, twisting truths and spouting nonsense."

Wu Fengying didn’t care what Han Qi intended, but her family couldn’t suffer this loss.

And they could leave a good impression in front of Li Xuei.

"What exactly happened?" Li Xuei asked with a frown.

Things were ssy, and everyone’s story was different.

"Aunt, we really can’t live sowhere else with a child. Please talk to Xiaoqing, don’t make us go outside." Han Qi realized no one was on his side, fearing if things continued, he’d be in the wrong. He tried to play the sympathy card with Li Xuei.

Li Xuei sighed; this niece-in-law didn’t seem good, but her brother and sister-in-law were still there. So she told Gu Xiaoqing: "Xiaoqing, arrange two rooms for your brothers and sisters-in-law. As family relatives, it’s not appropriate if they live outside. And Han Qi, as their Aunt, I don’t want to scold you, but as a wife, you should be sensible. Don’t cause trouble at ho, nitpicking everything. If you continue this way, don’t bla your Uncle and for kicking you out; we won’t be polite then."

Han Qi obediently continued, aware she couldn’t speak like before.

Li Xuei fully displayed her commanding presence, living outside these years wasn’t for nothing, and she was a qualified boss’s wife.

Gu Xiaoqing stood up, "Let’s go, brother and sister-in-law. I’ll take you to the rooms, but these guest rooms aren’t tidied up, you’ll have to do it yourselves."

Jianhui quickly said, "We’ll do it ourselves; at ho we still have to tidy up ourselves."

Gu Xiaoqing led the four upstairs.

Fortunately, their house had large rooms. It was a villa-style house with twelve rooms across two floors, enough for five family mbers, leaving plenty of rooms for people to stay in.

Spacious indeed.

The two rooms they opened were actually well-equipped with beds, but without bed linens or covers, plus needed so cleaning. Normally, they had a cleaning lady, so it wasn’t too dirty.

The cleaning lady had gone ho for New Year, so it wasn’t as dirty as imagined.

However, Han Qi still had a dissatisfied face, as if Gu Xiaoqing had neglected them greatly.

Gu Xiaoqing found new bed linens, quilts, and covers from the box, all spare ones, washed and stored in the box, neatly arranged, slling of camphor balls.

Wu Fengying was efficient, taking what was given and going to her room with Jianhui to tidy up, without any reservations, earning a high opinion from Gu Xiaoqing.

Han Qi was different, tossing the linens to Jianguo, only holding the child and barking orders, occasionally giving Gu Xiaoqing a sidelong glance, "This is family, watching and not giving a hand. So people really look down on us village folks."

Gu Xiaoqing heard this, crossed her arms, watching silently, refusing to lift a finger, making Han Qi nearly faint from anger.

"If a wife can stand idle and watch, why can’t a sister do the sa? You don’t even care for your own man, who else would care for him?" Gu Xiaoqing wouldn’t let Han Qi act up, as such people only escalate with kindness.

Better to be upfront from the start, showing she wasn’t easy to push around.

Such callous individuals shouldn’t be treated with courtesy.

The harsher she was, giving no face, the more restrained they’d beco, knowing not to provoke unnecessary trouble.

Jianguo felt humiliated and sternly reprimanded, "Shut up! Are you done yet? Don’t want to stay? Then take the child and leave, I’m staying." This was perhaps the harshest words Li Jianguo had spoken, silencing Han Qi imdiately.

She sulkily took the child to a chair, ignoring everyone else.

Li Jianguo didn’t offer any apologies to Gu Xiaoqing, simply focusing on tidying up on his own, arranging the bedding all by himself.

Gu Xiaoqing couldn’t just stand and watch, so she turned and went downstairs.
