Gu Hai was at a loss for words. Xu Nian’an’s insistence on evidence left him unable to refute.

"Dad, Mom, how could you be so heartless? You abandoned my second sister right after she was born. Weren’t you afraid she might not survive?"

"Is bringing my second sister back now really just to save my eldest sister?" Gu Mingcheng’s eyes were full of disappointnt. Looking at the familiar faces of his parents, they felt so alien to him!

He always thought that his eldest sister, Gu Mingzhu, was a bit proud, a bit vain, and a bit bad-tempered, but their family was still a good one.

However, now Gu Mingcheng realized that everything was just an illusion.

"Mingcheng, it’s not like that." Gu Hai sensed the disappointnt in his son’s eyes, and a chill ran through his heart. He wanted to explain, but Gu Mingcheng didn’t give him a chance to speak.

He rushed forward, stood in front of Xu Nianhua, lowered his head, and said chokingly, "Second sister, I’m sorry."

Gu Mingcheng bowed to Xu Nianhua, then turned to look at Gu Hai and Fang Yue. As he retreated, he said, "Dad, Mom, goodbye."

With that said, Gu Mingcheng turned and ran.

"Mingcheng, where are you going?"

Gu Hai shouted as he chased after him.

Fang Yue also followed him in pursuit.

In the hospital room, seeing that sothing was wrong, the Gu Junhe family also made an excuse to leave.

Jiang Jing looked at Xu Nianhua sympathetically, filled with remorse. That fake thief incident was his doing. If he had been more careful back then and not completely trusted Gu Mingzhu because she was his wife, perhaps the Xu family wouldn’t have been so easily convinced by the Gu family’s words.

"Nianhua, you’ve misunderstood. About Jiaxin’s matter..."

Gu Mingzhu started to explain, but Xu Nian’an interrupted, "We never said who that girl was, how did you know who she is? Isn’t that like a guilty conscience?"

"No, I heard it from Jiaxin." Gu Mingzhu explained, looking pale as she turned to Jiang Jing.

"Oh, so you heard about it from Ai Jiaxin. Yet, you didn’t dissuade Ai Jiaxin. Instead, you encouraged her to drug my brother, hoping he’d make a mistake, so you could drag my brother and the Xu family through the mud, right?" Xu Nian’an calmly retorted.

"No."

"Did you ever try to stop her? No, right?" Xu Nian’an’s words were calm, but they still exerted an oppressive force on Gu Mingzhu. "You knew very well my brother was married and even had kids. When you learned about this, you neither inford my brother nor my younger sister, nor did you try to stop Ai Jiaxin. What were your real intentions?"

"I..."

Gu Mingzhu was left speechless, always thinking Ai Jiaxin was naive. Now, she realized she was the real fool. Ai Jiaxin said she was traveling, but when she calculated the days, she hadn’t seen Ai Jiaxin for a long ti.

If Xu Nian’an hadn’t brought this up, she would have forgotten.

At this mont, Fang Yue and Gu Hai returned without having caught up to Gu Mingcheng. Fang Yue felt flustered, as if the son they had raised for so many years was about to be lost!

"It’s all your fault, spouting nonsense. I tell you, if my son doesn’t co ho, I’ll sue you until you’re behind bars forever."

Fang Yue cruelly threatened.

"Ha."

Xu Nian’an’s eyes were filled with sarcasm as he said, "If your son truly doesn’t co ho, it’s because he’s disappointed in this family. If I had parents like you, I’d rather not have them at all."
