"Little sis, how can you let him stay? He’s from the Gu Family!"
After dinner, while Gu Mingcheng was taking a shower, Xu Nianji and Xu Nian’an both pulled Xu Nianhua aside in the courtyard, whispering to her.
"He’s from the Gu Family, but he’s still a kid." Xu Nianhua said with a smile. Although Gu Mingcheng was in college, in Xu Nianhua’s mind, Gu Mingcheng was still that child, that kind-hearted boy.
Xu Nianji: "What kid? He’s a college student now, only a year younger than you!"

Gu Mingcheng didn’t need anyone to accompany him, he wandered around with his drawing board, sketching.
Sotis Xu Nianhua couldn’t figure out what Gu Mingcheng was up to; surely he wasn’t just changing scenery for his drawing?
Xu Qinghe’s birthday is coming up, and Xu Nianhua was racking her brains trying to give Dad a surprise, hardly having ti to ponder what Gu Mingcheng was really here for.
She planned to make a cream cake by hand on the birthday.
The cake base was easy to make, but the whipping of the cream was troubleso. Xu Nianhua bought a lot of milk and tried whipping it every day in their house in the county, her hands getting sore but still unable to whip cream.
"Little sis, what are you doing here?" Xu Nian’an rarely ca back early today and saw Xu Nianhua in the kitchen, stirring... eggs?
That didn’t seem right, eggs would be yellow.
"Second brother, give a hand."
Xu Nianhua’s hands were almost too tired to lift, she took a fresh batch of milk, grabbed a few chopsticks, handed them to Xu Nian’an and said, "Second brother, just keep stirring in one direction, keep stirring."
"Is this milk? What can milk turn into from continuous stirring?" Xu Nian’an was puzzled but followed Xu Nianhua’s instructions, stirring until it started to foam, then Xu Nianhua added sugar, reminding him, "Second brother, don’t stop."
Xu Nian’an kept his hands busy while asking, "Little sis, you have to tell what you’re making!"

"A good thing, guaranteed to be delicious!" Xu Nianhua, with a hint of mystery, deliberately kept him in suspense, saying, "Second brother, stop asking for now, save your strength!"

Repeatedly doing the sa action, Xu Nian’an slowly noticed a change, the foamy milk was now becoming thick.
