In the private room.

Zou Yaru had cried until no more tears could fall, and then she slowly straightened up. Her eyes were red and swollen as she looked at Cheng Hao. While she cried, Cheng Hao hadn’t said a word to comfort her; he just stood there like a wooden post.

"You have changed."

Zou Yaru looked at him through tear-blurred eyes. His features were the sa, but his expression was cold, making him seem like a stranger to her.

Cheng Hao gazed deeply at her, took a few steps forward, grabbed a tissue, and handed it to her, whispering, "Everyone changes."

When he heard that Zou Yaru was looking for him, he imdiately dropped what he was doing and rushed over, but when he got near Beining University, he hesitated for a long ti outside the private room, afraid to enter.

"Huh." Zou Yaru chuckled softly. She didn’t take the tissue; instead, she grabbed his hand and sobbed, "I didn’t an to break up with you."

Cheng Hao’s lips ford a straight line, his peach blossom eyes were the sa, but now they weren’t looking at her with affection like before. Instead, his eyes conveyed emotions she couldn’t understand.

"My dad had problems, and only he could save my dad, so that’s why I agreed to marry him and break up with you," said Zou Yaru. Rembering that the whole situation had been a scam made her heart ache as if it were being sliced with a knife. If it weren’t for that, she would have stayed with Cheng Hao; she wasn’t afraid of suffering.

"My Dad has spoiled since I was a child. When he got into trouble, I had to save him, so I could only agree to his terms."

"Cheng Hao, it has always been you whom I loved, but I was forced to marry him."

"I..."

Zou Yaru explained several sentences, but the room was so quiet, filled only with her voice. She had intended to share her grievances, but when she looked up and saw his slightly mocking eyes, her words stopped abruptly.

Cheng Hao took a deep breath and said, "I know you did it to save your dad, but I rember telling you to wait a few more days, yet you couldn’t even wait that long."

Cheng Hao didn’t want to recall that mont when he had begged her humbly, yet Zou Yaru did not trust him at all and soon married Gu Junhe.

Thinking about the pain of that ti, Cheng Hao still felt a heart-wrenching pain.

"It was a lot of money," Zou Yaru said, sowhat guiltily.

Cheng Hao retorted, "In your eyes, am I just a poor nobody?"

Zou Yaru was silent. She recalled his days in the county when he drove a truck, ntioned his ho was in Beining, but never spoke of his family background.

"I told you I had a way. Did you believe ?" After Cheng Hao’s words fell, he took a deep breath and said, "Talking about this now is pointless. What do you want from ?"

"How can I trust you?"

Zou Yaru looked into his disappointed eyes. Although she had much she wanted to say, she swallowed her words when she heard his question, lowered her gaze, and said, "I want to divorce Gu Junhe and end this mistaken marriage, I..."

"You should discuss this matter with your parents," Cheng Hao said, looking at her; she appeared very different from his mory, much thinner.

"My parents don’t agree, so I ca to you," Zou Yaru hesitated again, but thinking of the long journey she had taken to find him gave her a sudden surge of courage. She said, "I know I’ve been divorced once, but I sincerely want to be with you, I... "

"It’s impossible," Cheng Hao flatly refused.

"Why?" Zou Yaru had thought Cheng Hao would hesitate, but she did not expect such a ruthless rejection.
