"The craftsmanship doesn’t seem like what you’d find in the stores." Coming from a well-off family where her mother was in the jewelry business, Fei Jiayi could tell that the craftsmanship of the jade Buddha was different.

"Mutton-fat jade, Pei Yicheng really didn’t spare any effort."

Fei Jiayi leaned in closely to take a good look and imdiately noticed that this was not ordinary jade.

Just as she wanted to take a closer look, Xu Nianhua stuffed the jade into her clothing and said while rubbing her eyes, "Let’s not focus on this jade anymore. Isn’t the quiz competition starting at nine o’clock this morning?"

"Right!" Fei Jiayi instantly switched her focus and began studying the words seriously with her notebook in hand.

The second round of the quiz contest, also known as the vocabulary contest, saw who could rember the most words or phrases.

Xu Nianhua stood at the contestant’s seat, feeling a bit like it was an unfair advantage.

She used to work professionally as a translator. Initially, to make money, she dabbled in various areas before finally specializing in children’s English education.

In terms of vocabulary, Xu Nianhua had an absolute advantage.

During the public quiz, Xu Nianhua on stage was the brightest star.

Pei Yining’s cara never stopped clicking, each ti Xu Nianhua answered a question, she was calm, confident, and dazzling.

"Thank goodness I wasn’t put in Nianhua’s group, otherwise I’d be dead."

Fei Jiayi patted her chest with palpable relief, considering the imnse pressure she’d feel if she were in the sa group as Nianhua.

"Exactly, does Nianhua ever not know a word?" Ding Guo looked up at Xu Nianhua on stage, filled with admiration. She was dressed in a white shirt and a red skirt, with her long black hair elegantly done up, looking noble and graceful.

"I guess..." Chang Hui started to say none, but felt it wasn’t completely likely.

Xu Nianhua was already quite famous in the foreign language departnt, and now, her excellent performance further confird her reputation as a talented woman.

Below the stage, many students from non-foreign language majors specifically ca to watch the competition, just to see what Pei Yicheng’s girlfriend really looked like, and what exactly distinguished her in Pei Yicheng’s eyes.

They hadn’t realized it until they saw, but after a glance, everyone silently exchanged looks. Given Xu Nianhua’s poised and composed performance, if they were n, they’d be chard too.

"Nianhua, how do you manage it?"

That evening, in the dormitory, Fei Jiayi and her dorm mates, having made it through several rounds, were now among the top thirty finalists, and their prepared speeches were about to co in handy.

"Rember more, read more, recite more," Xu Nianhua said succinctly. "To master English, there are no shortcuts. You guys can look over your speeches more today. If you can deliver them without notes tomorrow and make the script co alive a bit more, you will definitely score high."

"How can I rember such a long script?" Ding Guo’s face fell. She would have been satisfied to say it while looking at the script, pronouncing everything correctly without any errors.

"Difficult."

Fei Jiayi glanced silently at the several pages in her hands, feeling like a mountain was pressing down on her, making it hard to breathe.

Liao Jinling and Chang Hui, along with Zhou Wanwan who had been quiet, didn’t speak, but the ssage was clear—it was too hard to deliver a lively and interesting presentation off-script.

Xu Nianhua pondered for a while and then spoke a string of English.

At first, Fei Jiayi and the others were puzzled, not knowing what Xu Nianhua was saying, but after listening for a while, they realized that Xu Nianhua seed to be reciting her speech. While they didn’t understand so of the words, they mostly got the gist of it.
