Xu Nianhua’s belly grew bigger by the day, but the morning sickness showed no signs of improvent.

Every day, all Pei Yicheng could think about was what he could buy for his wife to eat.

He tried all sorts of redies for morning sickness to no avail. Watching Xu Nianhua grow thinner day by day, Pei Yicheng felt both worried and anxious. One day, upon hearing that Xu Nianhua wanted to eat so pan-fried buns, he went out early to queue up for them.

"Mom, being pregnant is really tough." Xu Ting looked at her mother with concern, her initial eagerness for a little sister not so strong anymore.

Xu Nianhua smiled and comforted her, "Xiaoting, it’s not hard at all. Mommy is very happy."

Xu Ting knew her mother wanted to have a daughter. She hated being so young and unable to help her mom, so she would sing and dance to cheer her mom up whenever she was uncomfortable.

When Pei Yicheng returned with the pan-fried buns, Xu Ting was making funny faces, causing Xu Nianhua to laugh loudly, her laughter echoing far and wide.

"The pan-fried buns are here." Pei Yicheng brought the buns ho with a smile.

The bottom of the buns was pan-fried to a golden brown, their aroma enticing, the filling inside both fragrant and tender. Xu Nianhua ate several in a row, feeling completely satisfied.

"Great, if I don’t throw up after eating these, I’ll buy them again tomorrow."

No sooner had Pei Yicheng finished speaking than Xu Nianhua was overco with a dizzying bout of nausea again. Afterward, she weakly said, "I still want to eat pan-fried buns."

"Nianhua." Pei Yicheng felt a pang of sympathy.

Jiang Wanru, Ji Ying, and Wan Hongxing were all actively trying different thods, but even after Xu Nianhua passed the first three months, the morning sickness showed no signs of easing.

Also pregnant, Pei Yining quietly touched her belly as she watched her sister-in-law suffering from extre nausea, thinking that her own baby was really too well-behaved.

"When this little one is born, I definitely want to spank them," Pei Yicheng thought angrily, always feeling the urge to take the little one out and give them a spanking whenever he saw Xu Nianhua’s belly.

"Oh, co on, if it’s a daughter, would you really bear to hit her?"

Lying in bed, Xu Nianhua smirked at him and said, "Cheng, am I going to be sick like this until I give birth?"

Pei Yicheng shook his head, "No, no, definitely not."

Unfortunately, Xu Nianhua’s premonition was spot on. The baby made her suffer from morning sickness until eight months, almost to birth, before her appetite returned.

With her appetite back, Pei Yicheng would get up punctually every night at eleven o’clock to cook a bowl of egg noodles for Xu Nianhua.

Aside from egg noodles, Xu Nianhua found little joy in other foods, having developed a particular fondness for this dish.

Feeling full and content, Xu Nianhua looked at Pei Yicheng and asked, "Cheng, don’t you think it’s too exhausting?"

During this pregnancy, Pei Yicheng had almost turned down all work to stay by her side, devising various delicious foods for her.

"Compared to you, I don’t find it exhausting at all. Want so noodle soup?" Pei Yicheng ladled a spoonful of broth for her.

Although Xu Nianhua claid to be full, she drank every last drop of that spoonful of broth.

On the day she went into labor, the weather was fair, with a gentle breeze. Xu Nianhua had just finished washing her hair and showering when she finally told Pei Yicheng that her stomach hurt.

Frightened, Pei Yicheng scooped Xu Nianhua up and rushed her to the hospital.

Despite having gone through it once before, Pei Yicheng was still exceptionally anxious.

In the delivery room, the daughter who had tornted Xu Nianhua throughout the entire pregnancy was born three hours later. Her cries were earth-shattering, and her fair, clean face didn’t look like that of a newborn at all.
