"Are you proud of yourself? My parents didn’t make things difficult for you back then?" Fang Manyin pouted unhappily, pulling his ear and asking, "Are you looking down on now? Think I’m old? Not as pretty as the young girls outside, right?"
"No way, you’re the most beautiful in my heart." Su Lie begged for rcy, "Don’t pull my ear, it hurts."
"Liar, are you saying I’m prettier than the young girls outside?" As Fang Manyin let go, Su Lie leaned in and gave her a loud kiss on the cheek, saying, "Let see how beautiful my wife is."
"Su Lie, you’re shaless!"
"Let show you how shaless I can be."

Xu Nianhua quickly locked the door, feeling like a thief, she dashed to the bed, her heart still pounding at what she had just overheard.
She thought, no wonder mom was acting so weird today, turns out dad and Brother Lie went to see Brother Cheng?
Xu Nianhua’s eyes darted around, her mind racing with anxiety, she got up, quietly peeking through the door crack, listening to the sounds downstairs. Only when she heard her parents going to their room did she not rush down the stairs, and instead waited a bit longer to make sure they wouldn’t co back down, then tiptoed her way down.
She sat behind the sofa, holding the phone. After dialing, she was muttering to herself: Brother Cheng, you should be ho now, right?
"Beep."
Xu Nianhua was in luck, after just one ring, the voice she longed to hear ca through the line.
"Brother Cheng, it’s ." Xu Nianhua said in a low voice, her eyes darting around. The room was dark, only lit by the moonlight coming through the window as the wind blew the curtains, swaying them slightly. She asked, "How co you picked up the phone so fast?"
"Nianhua, are you sneaking around?" Pei Yicheng glanced at the phone, confirming it was Xu Nianhua’s voice, but it sounded small and cat-like.
Xu Nianhua nearly choked on her spit. She looked around, the lights were off, and she was being all sneaky, just like a thief. Annoyed, she rolled her eyes, almost wanting to hang up the phone. She said indignantly, "If I had known you didn’t want to hear my call, I would’ve hung up."
"No, I want to hear your voice." Pei Yicheng sat on the sofa, the cold wind clearing his head a bit, he rubbed his temples, asking, "Why did you think of calling today?"
"I heard you t my dad today?" Xu Nianhua inquired quietly.
"Yes."
Pei Yicheng listened to her purposely lowered voice, different from her usual bright tone. Her low voice, small like a cat’s ow, scratched at his heart, making him want to pat her head and ruffle her hair.
"What did you guys talk about?" Xu Nianhua had eavesdropped but didn’t catch anything clearly, only knowing dad seed against her getting engaged so early.
"Didn’t you ask?" Pei Yicheng raised an eyebrow.
Xu Nianhua pouted, saying, "My parents went behind my back, I didn’t even know." She speculated, it must have been when she was chatting with Xiaoxi that her mom overheard, and then discussed it with dad, keeping it from her.
"What if I tell you your dad is against it?" Pei Yicheng asked softly, looking up at the bright moonlight outside the window. Thoughts of Su Jinrong’s words drifted into his mind: Two years isn’t long, we can agree to the engagent for Nianhua’s happiness, but why are you in such a hurry to get engaged?
