Chapter 649: Chapter 649 Racing Against Ti

On the winding roads, a large caravan made its way, with three luxurious carriages in the middle.

At this mont, Xuexue sat in one of the carriages. Given their current pace, it would take a full month to travel from Jingshan Town to the Capital.

When Situ Yongjie arrived, it was fine because he was eager to see his daughter and rode hard with his n, saving quite a bit of ti. Now that they were returning to the Capital, since Madam Xie and her daughters were wonfolk who couldn’t ride horses for travel, he had purchased several carriages for their journey back.

However, this extended their ti on the road.

Xuexue rode alone in one carriage.

Madam Xie and Mo Xiaoqiang, along with Chuner, rode in another, although Chuner would sotis spend a half or full day in Xuexue’s carriage before she missed her mother and returned to the other carriage.

Situ Yongjie was a Military General, who liked to ride his horse at full gallop, embracing the wind.

Nevertheless, his attentive subordinates had also prepared a carriage for him. Since the group included won and traveled slowly, the General could sit in the carriage to drink so water and eat so dry food whenever he was thirsty.

Unnoticed, more than twenty days had passed on the road, and the Capital was getting closer.

One day, the caravan arrived at a place surrounded by desolate mountains and rugged terrain.

Xuexue pulled back the curtain of the carriage and peered out. She was surrounded by towering mountains and cliffs, which caught her off guard for a mont.

“Father, where have we arrived?” Xuexue asked Situ Yongjie, who sat mounted on his horse beside her.

Situ Yongjie wiped the sweat from his brow and looked up, “As soon as we cross this forest, we’ll enter the border of the Capital.”

Xuexue eyed the dense forest warily, feeling a dire premonition, “Father, this forest is so dense, and there are no inhabitants within a hundred miles. Could there be bandits here?”

Situ Yongjie shook his head and scanned the surroundings, “I don’t know! We need to speed up our travel, it’s best to leave this forest before it gets dark.”

He then added to Xuexue, “Be ntally prepared, Xuexue. We need to pick up the pace, and the mountain roads are bumpy. You’ll have to endure it.”

“Father, I understand. Your daughter is not so delicate,” she replied.

After instructing Xuexue, Situ Yongjie spurred his horse forward to inform Madam Xie of the need to accelerate, so they too could prepare for the rougher ride on the mountain roads.

Sure enough, shortly after Situ Yongjie rode ahead, the caravan picked up speed.

Madam Xie turned pale and her lips grew colorless from the jostling.

“My Lady, are you alright?” Mo Xiaoqiang patted her back, trying to help her catch her breath.

Madam Xie quickly stopped him, “Don’t pat , it makes

want to throw up even more.”

“Should we ask the General not to rush so much?”

“No, we can’t. Did you not hear the General just now saying that this stretch is dangerous and we might encounter bandits? As uncomfortable as I am, I know it’s risky. We can’t take that chance with our two daughters here. We must not endanger them.”

“But your face is turning green.”

“It’s fine, it will pass if I just endure for a bit.”

“Why don’t you lie down in my arms? I’ll hold you, and you won’t feel so bad,” Mo Xiaoqiang suggested.

“Nonsense, Chuner is still here,” Madam Xie rebuked.

Chuner, holding Little Tiger, said, “Mother, you’re such a grown-up, what’s there to be shy about? If you’re uncomfortable, let father hold you. I just won’t look.”

Madam Xie scolded, “You naughty girl, what nonsense are you talking about?”

Mo Xiaoqiang added, “Chuner is right. We’ve been married so long, and other than our daughter, there’s nobody else here. Why would you be shy?”
