Chapter 400: Chapter 400 Xie Residence

After tidying up the new house, at noon, Xuexue went up the mountain with Big Bull and ca back with a large wooden stake.

Once in the courtyard, Xuexue asked Big Bull to set down the wooden stake.

Madam Xie, puzzled, asked, “What did you bring a wooden stake back for?”

Xuexue said with a smile, “Mother, this wooden stake is for making a signboard.”

“Signboard?”

“Yes! You and dad are no longer related, and our household registration is independent. To avoid any misunderstandings, it’s better to have a signboard.” While talking, Xuexue and Big Bull worked together to split the wooden stake.

“That makes sense.” Madam Xie nodded in agreent with Xuexue’s idea.

Old Lady Mo always ca looking for trouble, and in the past, she used to tell people that she was divorced by the Mo family. Lately, whether it was because she saw their days becoming better, her tone had changed. She would talk about how their younger generation was disobedient and wouldn’t ntion being divorced anymore. Now, with the signboard Xuexue was making and hanging at the front gate, even if they said nothing, others would clearly understand the situation.

“Mother, go to the carpenter next door and borrow so tools for us,” Xuexue turned her head to instruct.

“Okay!”

Madam Xie complied and stepped out. Although their family was setting out the banquet today, she had so free ti because Xuexue had already arranged everything. They only needed to go to the family hall for dinner at dusk.

Soon, she ca back with a large wooden box.

Big Bull opened it to find it was fully equipped, even including dyes, which delighted him.

After splitting the wooden stake, they shaped it into a signboard with the tools and then painted it.

Big Bull, who retrieved a brush from sowhere, asked Xuexue, “My lady, what characters do you want to write on it?”

Xuexue smiled, “Xie Residence.”

Big Bull smiled indulgently and said, “Okay!”

With that, he brought the brush down in a sweep, and the characters ‘Xie Residence’ appeared on the signboard, full of flair.

The residents of Mo Family Village couldn’t have imagined in their dreams that, in the future, they would worship this signboard like a sacred relic, but of course, that’s a story for another ti, not to ntion here.

“Wow! Big Bull, I didn’t know you could read, and you write so beautifully too.” Madam Xie was incredibly surprised as she watched from the side, thinking to herself what kind of person Big Bull really was? Not only was he skilled in martial arts, but he also knew how to read.

After putting down the brush, Big Bull laughed, “I don’t know myself. I just heat up my brain, and the mont I pick up a brush, I can write.”

Xuexue, looking at the bright red signboard, was pleased inside. She didn’t think much more about it and eagerly called for Big Bull to hang it up.

Upon hearing this, Madam Xie ran to the neighboring house and borrowed a bamboo ladder, making it easier for Big Bull to hang up the signboard.

Soon, the signboard was hanging high at the front gate.

The characters ‘Xie Residence’ were boldly carved on it, and coupled with the bright color of the signboard, they were clear and easily understood at a glance.

Xuexue stood below, clapping her hands in satisfaction, “Hmm! Not bad, it hasn’t been a waste of our afternoon’s work.”

As Madam Xie was tidying up the wooden splinters from making the signboard in the courtyard, she swept the floor and told them, “You’ve finished, now hurry and wash your hands and go over to the family hall. After all, we are hosting a banquet and we should entertain the guests.”

Xuexue was not worried at all, as those eating dinner were people from Mo Family Village. She had only invited Shopkeeper Mo as a guest, “What’s the rush, it’s still early, and Shopkeeper Fan and his group won’t arrive that soon.”
