Lady Li, driven to desperation, followed Erlaizi back to that dilapidated house and had relations with him. After it was over, Lady Li left in a fury.
Watching Lady Li’s figure disappear by the doorway, Erlaizi leisurely took out a candy, unwrapped it, popped it into his mouth, smacked his lips, and murmured smugly to himself, “So sweet, no need for anything better, I even saved half a pound of candy, how wonderful.”
Gloatingly, he comfortably lay on the bed, stretching out in a starfish pose, feeling utterly relaxed.

Back at ho and in complete darkness, Lady Li sneaked into the room, planning to slip into bed unnoticed.
“Wife, where have you been? Why were you gone so long?” Suddenly, Mo Si’s groggy voice rang out.
Lady Li was startled and quickly replied, “I just went to the latrine; my stomach felt a bit off. I’m not sure if it’s sothing I ate, oh my, it hurts so much!”
As she spoke, Lady Li deliberately groaned a few tis, as if in great pain.
Mo Si: “Do you want
to go fetch Doctor to take a look?”
“What’s there to see? It’s the middle of the night; the Doctor is surely asleep now.”
“We could wake him up.”
“It’s not that painful; I can bear it.”
“Really?”
“Yes, really, I feel much better after using the latrine now.”
“Oh! Wife, if you’re truly in pain, wake
up, and I’ll go fetch Doctor for you.”
“Yeah, got it.”
“I’m going to sleep.”
“Mmm.”
Relieved, Lady Li was just about to change her position to rest, but then Mo Si rolled back toward her, nuzzling against her.
“What’s wrong?” Lady Li’s heart tightened again.
“Wife, I was thinking…”
“Oh! Husband, I’m not feeling well,” Lady Li pulled away his hand and spoke with an exhausted look.
Her mood was complex tonight, and having just been mistreated by Erlaizi, she was filled with anger. After spending over a decade in Mo Family Village, to be deceived by Erlaizi was unbearable for her.
“I’m sorry, I forgot,” Mo Si said.
“Let’s sleep.”
“Mmm.” Mo Si turned over and fell asleep, soon his snoring could be heard.
Lady Li sighed with relief; she was physically and ntally exhausted tonight. That damned Erlaizi, she resented him deeply and gritted her teeth in anger, yet she was helpless to do anything about him.
As a bachelor, he cared nothing for his reputation, but it was different for her, a woman’s honor was vital, without it, it was as good as being dead.
It was only now that Lady Li truly relaxed, yet she couldn’t fall asleep no matter how hard she tried, shaken by the night’s events.
“That damned Erlaizi,” Lady Li seethed with venom.
