Chapter 217: Chapter 217: Deep Hatred as the Sea of Blood

The sky was already very dark, and the sound of crying mixed with bursts of laughter was incredibly eerie. Yet, the people inside the house were completely oblivious. Indeed, they couldn’t hear the little ghost’s laughter; they only felt a gust of wind inside, since there were six little ghosts causing trouble in the house. They assud it was Old Master Mo’s spirit causing mischief, so they continuously stepped forward to burn Joss Papers, hoping that would calm him down.

“Big Bull, let’s go.”

Indifference to others’ affairs, coupled with her own vendetta yet to be avenged, Xuexue didn’t have the slightest intention to ddle in other people’s business. She took Big Bull’s hand and turned to leave.

Suddenly, a little ghost dressed in red floated down from the rooftop and called out to Xuexue’s retreating figure, “Master, Master, don’t go.”

Xuexue knew she was calling her. The last ti, out of the blue, she had appeared at the Mo family, telling her to call her Xiao Taohong, Xuexue beca apprehensive. After all, humans and ghosts have different paths; walking together would surely bring bad luck. Old Master Mo was a bloody lesson. She’d been reborn this ti, and her deep-seated enmity had yet to be avenged; she couldn’t let a little ghost drag her down. A “master,” indeed. She assud it was a deception and wasn’t about to be fooled.

With this thought, Xuexue didn’t stop, instead quickening her step as if avoiding the Plague God. She didn’t want to get involved with a non-human little ghost.

“Wife, wife, she’s calling for you!”

Big Bull, simple-minded as ever, saw Xuexue ignoring the call and thought she couldn’t hear, so he reached out and tugged her arm, shaking it a few tis.

However, it’s no surprise; he still didn’t know that this beautiful little girl was a ghost. Otherwise, would he be so calm? He would have been wailing like a banshee by now.

“How could she be calling for ? Big Bull, you must have heard wrong. Could be her own mother calling for her; she’s probably busy going ho for dinner. Let’s not disturb them and get going quickly. If we get ho late, Mother will start to worry.” Xuexue lied blatantly, pulling Big Bull by the hand as she quickly walked away, totally ignoring the little ghost chasing after her.

“Really?” Big Bull turned his head to look back, his face full of skepticism.

“Yes, my na is Xuexue, not ‘Master.'”

“Hmm, that’s true.”

He must have mistaken her for soone else! Big Bull thought to himself that it made sense. Just the other day at midnight, soone had called him ‘Master.’ He clearly was Big Bull, not Master. It seems like there are more and more crazy people these days.

Seeing the little ghost getting closer and closer.

Xuexue walked even faster. At that mont, she wished she had more legs so she could have run away in one go.

Seeing his wife becoming breathless from the hurried pace, Big Bull simply lifted her by the waist and using his Inner Strength, leaped up, rapidly covering the distance until they were out of sight.

The little ghost in red was left agape. Damn it, soone was actually faster than a ghost! What is this world coming to? It just doesn’t make sense.

Xuexue felt a tightness around her waist, followed by whistling winds near her ears that made it hard to even keep her eyes open. When the winds ceased and she opened her eyes, she couldn’t help but laugh. There they were, already back at the doorstep of the old residence.

The won who had been under the tree were gone; it must have been late, and all had gone ho to rest. Besides, with Old Master Mo having passed away tonight, an aura of death had settled over Mo Family Village, making the atmosphere sowhat grim. The people in the countryside believed deeply in ghosts and gods; most of them had closed their doors early and retired for the night.

Xuexue: “Mother, we’re back.”

Madam Xie was busy inserting willow branches around the house as a protective charm. Seeing Xuexue and Big Bull return, she couldn’t help but nag, “You girl, you’re becoming more and more reckless. You know sothing big has happened in the village, and yet you, a young lady, dare to run around in the middle of the night without fear of encountering sothing evil.”

“It’s fine; Big Bull is with .”

Xuexue realized that Big Bull truly was a gem. Not only was he handso, but he was also adept at dealing with both humans and ghosts. Not only did the bad people fear him, but even the little ghosts steered clear of him – not sothing an ordinary person could accomplish.
