Chapter 94: Chapter 94 Drunk and Foolish
Lin Xu returned from watching the movie; it was already 11 p.m.
The butler and servants had all gone to rest, and most of the lights in the villa were turned off, leaving only a single incandescent bulb on in the living room.
“Zeqiu?” Lin Xu saw Ji Zeqiu lying on the couch, her expression one of surprise, “Why are you lying here and not sleeping in your room?”
She approached and slled the alcohol on him, her eyebrows knitting slightly.
Was he drunk?
Ji Zeqiu heard the voice and lethargically opened his eyes.
Seeing the familiar figure, his thin lips pursed, and he wrapped his arms around her, alcohol clouding his judgnt. He buried his head in her stomach and sounded sowhat displeased, “Why did you co back so late? Was the movie that good?”
He had been waiting on the couch for an hour or two, only for Mother to return.
And she was laughing so happily.
The more Ji Zeqiu thought about it, the angrier he got, feeling he hadn’t scolded Ji Tingyang enough earlier that evening.
“It was not bad,” Lin Xu rubbed his head, “If you want to see it too, next ti you’re free, we can go to the cinema together, okay?”
Ji Zeqiu’s eyes lit up, and he said eagerly, “I’m free tomorrow!”
“Aren’t you supposed to go to the set tomorrow?” Lin Xu noted.
Ji Zeqiu paused, sobered by her reminder, and then rembered he had to film, “Then, the day after tomorrow, no, I an the day after that…”
He tried hard to recall his schedule, looking to find a free day.
But the alcohol muddled his thoughts, and he couldn’t rember a thing.
“Don’t listen to his nonsense.” Ji Tingyang, who had been watching for a while, finally couldn’t stand it anymore. He walked over, grabbed Ji Zeqiu by the collar, and pulled him out of Lin Xu’s arms, “An artist like him going to the cinema? In the end, it would just be others watching him, not the movie.”
“I can disguise myself!” Ji Zeqiu retorted, glaring at him.
“We have a projector at ho. If you want to watch a movie, you can watch it here. It’s more convenient,” Ji Tingyang suggested to Lin Xu.
Lin Xu thought it over and hesitated, “That’s true.”
“No! I want to go to the cinema!” Ji Zeqiu protested.
Looking at Ji Tingyang’s nonchalant expression, Ji Zeqiu found it more and more insidious.
So scheming!
Ji Tingyang went to the cinema with Mother; they sat so close, sharing a popcorn, happily discussing the film, and enjoying their ti together.
And when it was his turn, he was supposed to watch a projector at ho?
For all he knew, Ji Tingyang might barge in halfway and ruin his date with Mother.
Ji Tingyang, that bastard!
Definitely on purpose!
Not wanting him to also have a ti alone with Mother!
“I want to go watch it at the cinema!” Ji Zeqiu said angrily, clinging to Lin Xu’s hand, refusing to let go.
He was acting just like a child throwing a tantrum.
“Alright, alright, we’ll go to the cinema,” Lin Xu quickly pacified him.
Ji Zeqiu smiled contentedly, but before he could continue to cling to Lin Xu, Ji Tingyang reached out and dragged him up from the couch.
“He’s drunk and acting dumb; I’ll take him to his room.”
What a loving scene.
When the younger brother was drunk, the older brother gently helped him to his bedroom, assisted him with changing and washing, and thoughtfully covered him with a blanket.
Just as Lin Xu was touched by the harmonious relationship between the two brothers, she saw Ji Tingyang dragging Ji Zeqiu off the couch, roughly hustling him upstairs, annoyance clear on his face.
In a mont of inattention, Ji Zeqiu’s head hit the wall.
“Tsk, so stupid,” Ji Tingyang scoffed.
“Ji Tingyang! I warn you, I’ve tolerated you for a long ti! With those thieving brows and rat eyes, you don’t look like anything good, and your employees are the sa, nothing but bullies! You even said you’d blacklist , you lunatic…”
“No, I need to tell Mother how your company’s artist bullied , make Mother dislike you…”
It was unclear if it was the fake liquor talking, but Ji Zeqiu kept rambling incessantly in his ear.
Veins on Ji Tingyang’s forehead bulged.
Ji Zeqiu seed gentle on the surface, but in private, he was remarkably tough, who could bully him?
That artist under Ji’s company had said he would record all he said and send it to Ji Tingyang.
While smilingly saying, “I hope you can still be this tough tomorrow.”
Ji Zeqiu went straight over to snatch the man’s phone.
The man thought he wanted to retract the chat history and was shocked.
But in front of everyone, he directly dialed Ji Tingyang’s voicemail.
Ji Tingyang, confused, was t with a barrage of scolding as soon as he answered.
The vocabulary was quite extensive, so many swear words, yet not one was repeated.
Everyone in the club was dumbstruck.
No one expected Ji Zeqiu to be so bold and fearless, even daring to berate the president of Ji’s.
Ji Tingyang ground his teeth, “Ji Zeqiu, are you sick?”
All he did was post a photo of him going to the movies with his mother, and this warranted a phone call full of insults?
The agent hurried over, hung up the phone, returned it to the man, and escorted him away.
Ji Zeqiu, evidently not having finished his tirade over the phone, continued to rant at the person in front of him.
Ji Tingyang could take no more and pulled out a handkerchief, covering Ji Zeqiu’s mouth.
“Mmm mmm mmm…”
The world finally beca peaceful.
Lin Xu looked at them both with a worried expression.
She thought their brotherly harmony was false.
The fact that the two didn’t continue to co to blows was already a huge relief.
Ji Zeqiu’s deanor when he was drunk was quite different from when he was sober.
The next day when the effects of the alcohol wore off, and he rembered how he had clung to Lin Xu’s hand the night before, begging to go to the cinema, his cheeks flushed red with embarrassnt.
Not to ntion how he had relentlessly scolded Ji Tingyang, although Ji Tingyang indeed deserved it.
But would his mother think he was too crude, not a good son?
As he agonized over this, he heard Lin Xu saying, “Let know when you’re free, and we’ll set a date to go to the movies.”
Lin Xu still rembered about going to the cinema.
“Actually, I was just talking nonsense last night, I don’t particularly want to go to the cinema,” Ji Zeqiu said, his gaze drifting away, a hint of guilt on his face.
“Oh,” Lin Xu replied, putting her phone down, no longer looking up movie tis.
As if she had truly given up on going to a movie with him.
Ji Zeqiu hastily added, his voice trembling, “But if you really want to go with , I’m not completely opposed to the idea…”
Lin Xu suddenly smiled, without piercing through his little ploy.
“Yes, I really do want to go see a movie with you, can you find so ti to accompany ?” she asked.
“Alright, let check my schedule!”
Ji Zeqiu’s lips unconsciously curved upwards, his eyes sparkling with excitent as he quickly checked his upcoming schedule.
Even after cancelling many appointnts and filming engagents, his calendar was still packed, with no ti to go to the cinema for at least the coming week.
The upward curve of his lips quickly fell.
His expression darkened, and he sent a ssage to his agent.
“Brother Zhao! I want to quit the industry! Right now!”
He didn’t even have ti to watch a movie with his mother!
Agent: “…”
