Chapter 89: Chapter 89 The Two Brothers Always Like the Sa Woman
Lin Xu’s movents as she applied the dicine were gentle, asking him with unease whether it hurt or not.
“It doesn’t hurt,” Ji Tingyang said, while his brows knotted as if he were enduring the pain.
Seeing this, Lin Xu felt even more distressed, “Speak up if it hurts. Don’t bear it silently.”
Ji Tingyang pursed his lips, suppressing the urge to smile, and shifted closer to her.
At that mont, a hand reached over, snatched the ointnt from Lin Xu, and squeezed a large dollop, roughly saring it on Ji Tingyang’s face.
“Since it doesn’t hurt, there’s no need to be so gentle,” Ji Zeqiu deliberately pressed hard on the bruise on his face, “There, now the dicine is properly applied.”
Ji Tingyang clenched his teeth and let out a muffled grunt, glaring fiercely at Ji Zeqiu.
“What are you looking at for, to thank ?” Ji Zeqiu twisted his aning, his eyebrows raised in smugness, “No need for thanks, it was a trifle.”
It seed the two of them were about to start arguing again.
The butler sighed as he watched them from the sidelines.
In the past, the eldest and second young master had argued over Wen Li, leading to discord between the brothers, and eventually, the second young master moved out of the villa.
The butler had thought that once the eldest young master let go of Wen Li, he would no longer compete with the second young master, and their brotherly bond would eventually be restored.
But who would have thought that the second young master would no longer care about Wen Li, and like the eldest young master, started to fancy Miss Lin Xu instead.
Rather than reconciling, they argued even more fiercely, and just yesterday, they actually ca to blows over Miss Lin Xu.
The butler lanted, should he say they truly are brothers?
The two brothers always liked the sa woman.
He glanced again at the two of them bickering, shook his head, and spoke to interrupt their quarrel, “Second young master, do you need your room cleaned?”
As soon as he spoke, they were both startled.
Ji Zeqiu did not live in the villa, and his room was usually cleaned once a week, but he had co back to stay last night, and it was only proper to ask about the regular cleaning today.
Ji Zeqiu’s first instinct was to say it was not needed.
He was going to go back to the apartnt with his mother today, and he had no desire to live with Ji Tingyang.
However, his heart wavered when he caught Lin Xu’s expectant eyes, shimring with anticipation.
Lin Xu tugged at his hand, her voice tinged with hope, “Wouldn’t it be nice for us to live together as a family if you ca back?”
Ji Zeqiu knew Lin Xu had always wanted him to move back in. Right from the start, when he moved to the apartnt with her, she kept nagging in his ear, asking why he argued with Ji Tingyang, why he moved out of the villa, and when he would move back.
At that ti, he found Lin Xu’s incessant curiosity about others’ family affairs annoying.
Now, he thought she must have always hoped they could all live together forever.
Looking into Lin Xu’s eager eyes, Ji Zeqiu’s lips parted several tis, but he found himself unable to utter the words to refuse her.
His tone was gruff, his expression awkward, “If you insist on my coming back to live… it’s not impossible…”
“That’s wonderful!” Lin Xu bead with joy.
Seeing his mother’s smile, Ji Zeqiu felt cheerful, as if sunshine ward his heart, infusing his body with vitality.
Ji Tingyang opened his mouth, about to speak.
Suddenly, his mouth was covered by Lin Xu, effectively silencing him.
“Don’t talk nonsense, got it?” Lin Xu warned him.
The two brothers always provoked each other. What if the hard-won return of Ji Zeqiu was spoiled by another argunt?
The weekend passed in the blink of an eye.
Even though his face was still bruised, Ji Tingyang had to continue going to the company.
He stood at the entryway, his expression conflicted, glancing at Lin Xu several tis.
His mother’s ankle was still injured, and now Ji Zeqiu had joined them in the house.
What if, when he ca back, he discovered Ji Zeqiu had taken his mother away?
What if Ji Zeqiu secretly spoke ill of him and he found that his mother no longer liked him when he returned?
What if…
In just one minute, Ji Tingyang’s mind flooded with countless thoughts, his heart ballooning like an ever-expanding balloon, as if it would explode at any mont due to any of those unsettling ideas.
Suddenly.
Lin Xu waved at him.
Ji Tingyang’s mind was in disarray, and he subconsciously lowered his head to let her touch it.
Lin Xu paused for a mont, then suddenly laughed.
He looked at her, not understanding the reason.
It wasn’t until Lin Xu smiled and adjusted his tie, correcting its length, that Ji Tingyang realized he had been overthinking. A flash of embarrassnt crossed his eyes.
Lin Xu straightened the tie, looked it over carefully, and nodded in satisfaction, “That looks much better.”
His mother had tied his tie for him, and Ji Tingyang’s previously restless heart suddenly overflowed with happiness.
“Is it getting late? Hurry up and leave. Don’t be late,” Lin Xu said.
“Yeah,” Ji Tingyang responded and finally was willing to leave.
In the car, he kept touching the tie that Lin Xu had adjusted, his heart almost bursting with joy.
Not long after Ji Tingyang had left, Ji Zeqiu also woke up.
He still had soap residue on the corner of his mouth that he hadn’t managed to rinse off, hurriedly running into the living room. On seeing Lin Xu, he secretly heaved a sigh of relief.
Even though three or four days had passed, the anxiety in his heart had not completely disappeared.
“Is it ti for a follow-up at the hospital today?” Ji Zeqiu asked.
Lin Xu’s ankle had swelled frighteningly at first, but the swelling had subsided quickly, leaving only a slight, unnoticeable puffiness.
During the days in the wheelchair, the two brothers treated her as if she could no longer care for herself. Though it was her foot that was injured, they even wanted to feed her water and als.
If this continued, Lin Xu feared they would want to help her dress too, so after the swelling subsided and the pain lessened, she was adamantly against sitting in the wheelchair any longer.
For the first ti, the two brothers agreed and insisted on keeping her in the wheelchair until she fully recovered.
However, as soon as Lin Xu’s eyes reddened, the brothers’ resolve crumbled, and they compromised.
But they were still not to be careless.
Ji Zeqiu looked at her nervously, “I’ll accompany you!”
“The hospital has so many people. You might be recognized,” Lin Xu worried about causing a disturbance.
“I’ll wear a hat and a mask,” Ji Zeqiu said confidently. Disguised, few people would notice him.
Unless they were particularly familiar with him, they wouldn’t recognize him at all.
With his insistence on accompanying her, Lin Xu reluctantly agreed.
Upon arriving at the hospital.
The doctor’s advice was as she expected: she didn’t need to use the wheelchair anymore, and she just needed to continue her dication for a few more days until the swelling completely subsided.
Upon hearing the doctor’s words, Ji Zeqiu even felt a bit disappointed.
He had hoped to be on the sa side as the doctor, convincing his mother to sit in the wheelchair for a few more days.
He hadn’t taken care of her enough yet.
Lin Xu smiled helplessly and pulled him to the window to get the dication.
A figure suddenly appeared from around the corner and before almost bumping into Lin Xu, Ji Zeqiu quickly shielded her.
“Are you alright?” Ji Zeqiu asked anxiously.
She was just about to speak when she heard the person exclaim.
“Ji Zeqiu?”
Lin Xu looked up, her eyebrows suddenly raising.
It was actually Wen Li.
