Chapter 233: Chapter 233: You’ll Never Get Close to My Big Brother

Lin Xu was still admonishing Xie Changyan on the phone when a noise ca from outside the door, and she imdiately looked towards the entrance.

Ji Tingyang entered with a stern expression, seemingly in a less than pleasant mood. He glanced at Lin Xu in the living room, who was on the phone by her ear.

“Back already? Are you hungry? Should I cook so noodles for you?” Lin Xu smiled faintly at him.

Usually, Ji Tingyang would have responded with great joy.

But now…

His brows furrowed even deeper, he glanced at Lin Xu and went upstairs without saying a word.

...

A hint of surprise crossed Lin Xu’s face.

She hadn’t hung up the phone yet and said to Xie Changyan on the other end, “You’re on your own, Ting Yang didn’t even acknowledge just now.”

For soone who usually clung to Lin Xu, his ignoring her this ti showed just how angry he was.

Xie Changyan chuckled softly.

“Big brother really doesn’t know how to behave properly. No matter how angry he is, how can he ignore his own mother?” Ji Yuqiao, sitting on the sofa playing with her phone, didn’t even look up as she made a disdainful tsk sound.

Lin Xu walked over and sat beside Ji Yuqiao, “Then, our sensible Lanyue, can you help talk to your brother tomorrow?”

“I’d like to help, but I have plans to go out tomorrow and won’t have the ti.” Ji Yuqiao stuck out her tongue.

She said she had plans, but in truth, it was Zhao Jiayan who had asked her out.

The next day when Ji Yuqiao arrived at the cafe, he was already sitting there.

“What did you want to see about?” Ji Yuqiao casually took a seat.

“Nothing much…” Zhao Jiayan paused for a mont and handed her the nu, “Take a look, what would you like to drink?”

“A latte, please.” She hesitated for a mont.

“Sure.” Zhao Jiayan called over the waiter, handed back the nu, “A latte and an iced Aricano, thank you.”

As they waited for the coffee, Zhao Jiayan took out a flyer and revealed the reason he had asked her out.

“There’s a sumr camp in two weeks, are you interested in joining?”

“Just for this?” Ji Yuqiao’s eyes widened slightly, “Couldn’t you have just asked on WeChat?”

“Isn’t it clearer to talk in person?” Zhao Jiayan said.

Of course, he had his own little selfish motive.

“Alright.” Ji Yuqiao picked up the flyer and started to read.

This sumr camp wasn’t just for fun; it involved math instruction by teachers from prestigious foreign schools, akin to a training camp.

But the price was also very steep, clearly targeting children from wealthy families, beyond what ordinary students could afford.

“Didn’t you ask before about how to improve your competition scores? You’ll understand once you participate,” Zhao Jiayan said.

“Is this camp really that impressive?” Ji Yuqiao was sowhat tempted.

But seeing that the training was for half a month made her hesitate again.

She used to not want to go ho even when living at school all day, so to her, half a month was no different from half a year.

Yet, knowing that her parents were still alive, even one day seed too long.

She hadn’t been with them for long when she had to leave for half a month, and she really felt reluctant to part.

Moreover, she needed to stay at ho to protect her mother, what if no one was around to look after her mother and she got hurt again?

Like a well-behaved baby unwilling to leave ho, many hesitations entangled in her mind like a tangled skein of yarn.

Perhaps seeing the indecision in Ji Yuqiao’s eyes, Zhao Jiayan was sowhat puzzled, “Don’t you plan to participate in the competition next year?”

The news of Ji Yuqiao previously liking Xiao Yu was not a secret; Zhao Jiayan found out about it with just a casual inquiry.

Had she been working so hard to compete all because of Xiao Yu?

And since Xiao Yu was graduating this year, he naturally wouldn’t participate in the school’s competitions next year, so did she also not wish to participate anymore?

“Of course not,” Ji Yuqiao refuted imdiately without thinking, then hesitated the next mont, “Give a day or two to think, I’ll give you an answer then.”

“Okay,” Zhao Jiayan nodded, not pursuing the reasons behind her hesitation.

After the topic ended, the two of them chatted idly while drinking coffee.

But more often, it was Zhao Jiayan who initiated the topics, while Ji Yuqiao responded sporadically, occasionally speaking up a bit more.

Suddenly.

A sharp shriek sounded from nearby.

“Are you blind?! Do you know this bag can’t get wet? If it gets wet, it’s completely ruined,” the woman slamd the table, glaring at the man across from her.

Ji Yuqiao recognized this woman—Zhou Manhui; she had t her when she went to a party with Ji Tingyang before.

At that ti, Zhou Manhui took a liking to Ji Tingyang and spent the entire evening looking for opportunities to strike up a conversation with him.

Initially, Ji Yuqiao didn’t mind, after all, her older brother was quite a catch, and it was common for won to approach him.

That was until she overheard Zhou Manhui chatting with a friend in the restroom.

“Is there sothing wrong with Ji Tingyang? I hinted so obviously, and he showed no reaction,” Zhou Manhui angrily tossed her lipstick back into her bag.

“Aren’t all n like that, pretending to be gentlen at the start, but underneath they are scoundrels,” her friend chuckled, “Look at your President Yan, initially claiming he only had his wife in his heart, and now, he loves you so much he doesn’t even glance at his wife.”

On ntioning President Yan, disdain crossed Zhou Manhui’s face, “If it weren’t for his money, who would bother with that fatso. Ji Tingyang is much better, both handso and wealthy.”

“Manman, when you beco Mrs. Ji, the president of Ji’s, don’t you forget your best friend here,” her friend bumped her shoulder, laughing.

“That’s easily said,” Zhou Manhui replied, her lips curled in a determined smirk, brushing her curly hair over her shoulder.

When they returned to the banquet, whenever Ji Yuqiao saw Zhou Manhui approaching Ji Tingyang, she would always find ways to disrupt their interaction.

If not interrupting their conversation, she would get Ji Tingyang to fetch her so food.

After several instances, Zhou Manhui sensed sothing was off, looking at Ji Yuqiao’s nearly undisguised disgust, she understood instantly.

“As long as I’m here, you’ll never get close to my brother!” Ji Yuqiao dropped the fierce words.

And that was how her feud with Zhou Manhui began.

Seeing Zhou Manhui, Ji Yuqiao’s face crossed with a look of disgust, not expecting to encounter such an unpleasant person here.

As for the man sitting across from her, Ji Yuqiao knew him even better.

Xiao Yu steadied his cup in his hands, hastily apologizing, “I’m sorry, how much is your bag? I can compensate you for it.”
