Xie Mingwang imdiately realized that this matter was most likely true.
He pleaded gently, “You, the grand CEO of Xie’s, can have any woman you want. What’s so good about a married woman? Cut ties with her right away, do you hear ?”
“I won’t rush you into marriage anymore. Take your ti to find soone you like…”
Xie Mingwang talked for quite a while, but Xie Changyan remained silently unresponsive.
Xie Mingwang, enraged, grabbed a walking stick from nearby and hit Xie Changyan’s leg with it. “Did you even hear what I said!”
Xie Changyan’s face showed reluctant amusent as he tugged at the corner of his mouth, “Don’t worry about my business; just go back to your room and rest.”
After finishing his sentence, he stood up and returned to the bedroom, leaving Xie Mingwang fuming in the living room.

After washing up, Xie Changyan was just about to go downstairs to head to the company when he was stopped by Xie Mingwang.
“Where do you think you’re going?” he asked, his face full of suspicion.
“Where else can I go other than to the office?” Xie Changyan laughed.
“I’ve heard there’s nothing much going on at the company lately, you might as well work from ho for the ti being. Don’t go out.”
Xie Changyan laughed wryly, “I’m already this old, and you’re putting under house arrest? Is that appropriate?”
Xie Mingwang glared at him, “You’ll stay ho for the next few days, don’t worry about anything else.”
Who knows where he would run off to if he went out? What if he went to see that married woman again?
“If I’m not to worry about business, then you shouldn’t worry about either.” Xie Changyan smiled, walked past him, and headed straight for the door, ignoring Xie Mingwang’s furious roars behind him.

He waited for a while but didn’t receive a reply from Lin Xu, feeling a stir in his heart, his fingers already dialing out.
The phone rang for several seconds before it was answered.
He barely parted his lips to speak when he heard a man’s icy, indifferent voice co through the receiver.
“Calling so early in the morning, what’s the matter?” Ji Tingyang’s voice was as cold as ice.
Xie Changyan’s grip on the phone tightened, and he restrained the smile on his face, his fingertips idly tapping the desk, “Nothing much, just wanted to invite Miss Lin to lunch.”
“I’m afraid that won’t be possible, as she is having lunch with today.”
“No problem, I’ll just invite her for dinner.”
“From now on, she will only have als with every day. No matter how many tis Xie invites her, it won’t make a difference.” Ji Tingyang’s voice deepened.
A laugh escaped Xie Changyan’s throat, he said nonchalantly, “How do you know it won’t work if you haven’t tried?”
“Xie Changyan, I’m warning you, keep your distance from her. She will never like you!” Ji Tingyang’s voice was fierce, his face dark with anger.
Xie Changyan lowered his eyes as if unmoved, “Is that so? Then who do you think she was with last night?”
Ji Tingyang’s presence was icily intimidating.
He wasn’t without his suspicions, and those suspicions were confird upon seeing the little fish charm bracelet.
Yet still, he acted as though he knew nothing.
Just like Xie Changyan had discovered, Lin Xu was avoiding Ji Tingyang throughout the charity banquet, utterly distracted the entire ti.
In the end, he simply took her away from the venue, letting her breathe a sigh of relief.
After a mont, Ji Tingyang sneered, “…Want to give it a try?”
“Try what?”
“Try if she really likes you or not.”

Upon hearing his silence, a scoff of mockery spilled from Ji Tingyang’s throat, “What’s the matter, you’re scared? Because you know that in her heart, I’m more important. She and I are each other’s most significant others, and she will absolutely not choose you, so stop bothering her.”
The dial tone of the phone hanging up buzzed in his ear, and Xie Changyan’s expression darkened, his grip on his cellphone tightening until his fingertips turned white.
The air pressure in the office was terrifyingly low.
And Ji Tingyang’s face was no better, chilling to the bone.
“Eh, how co my phone is with you?”
Lin Xu had just sent a ssage to Xie Changyan and had been called away by Aunt Zhang. She casually placed her phone on the table, and when she ca out of the kitchen, it was gone.
She searched all the way and didn’t expect to find it in Ji Tingyang’s hands.
Ji Tingyang smoothed out the forbidding look on his face, his tone carrying a hint of apology, “I didn’t know where my phone was, so I used yours to make a call, I’m sorry.”
“You can use it to make calls as long as you like; no need to apologize to ,” Lin Xu patted his head, “Aunt Zhang has made breakfast, let’s go and eat quick, don’t starve your stomach.”
Ji Tingyang nodded and then casually said, “Mother, how about we have lunch together at noon?”
“Sure, I’ll co to find you at noon,” Lin Xu agreed readily.
Not until after Ji Tingyang left for work did Lin Xu retrieve her phone and notice an unread ssage on WeChat.
Xie Changyan had invited her to lunch.
Willow Wadding: “I’m sorry, I have plans at noon.”
Xie: “No problem.”
Willow Wadding: “How about we et later in the evening?”
However, after sending this ssage, Xie Changyan did not reply anymore.
Maybe he’s busy with work?
Lin Xu didn’t mind and put down her phone to do other things.
