Shen ng agreed but then rembered what Wang Shuyue had said in the backyard earlier, so she asked Liang Jue, “Did you not like the dishes I served you at the table just now?”

Liang Jue quickly shook his head, “No, I liked all the dishes you served .”

Shen ng stared at him directly, “Be honest with . You know, I could easily inquire about these matters from those who serve you personally.”

“I wasn’t lying. Normally, I don’t eat that dish, but if it’s served by you, I like it no matter what it is!” Perhaps afraid that Shen ng would misunderstand him with a mouthful of lies, he quickly explained.

After speaking, he felt a bit ashad, his face filled with embarrassnt, his cheeks flushed with redness.

Shen ng’s tone softened slightly, “If you truly feel that way, I’m glad, but you should know, when I serve you dishes, I want you to enjoy them a little more.”

“I’m always happy when you serve

dishes, no matter what they are.”

Liang Jue looked at Shen ng, his eyes full of affection. Shen ng felt a bit uncomfortable under his overly intense gaze, so she turned her face slightly away, avoiding direct eye contact with him. Perhaps because she had been treated well when she first married into the family, he seed much livelier and more willing to express his feelings openly than she rembered.

Sotis she wonders if what she’s doing is a mistake. After all, those are mories from her past life, and apart from her, no one in this world knows what really happened in the previous life.

If it weren’t for the changes among those related to Liang Jue, everything else seed to align with her mories, and she even began to suspect if it was all just an elaborate dream. However, seeing Liang Jue’s lively deanor, so different from the mories, she felt that this version of Liang Jue was more comforting.

Like now, although his enthusiasm was a bit excessive, it wasn’t off-putting. She softened her tone slightly, “Although that’s true, it’s always better to enjoy delicious food. If you don’t feel like talking about it now, you can give

a list later, at least let

know your preferences.”

She was never a domineering person, and if Liang Jue wasn’t willing, she wouldn’t force him to conform to her tastes.

Not receiving severe reprimand and being cared for so intimately, Liang Jue felt extrely relieved and ekly responded with a “yes.”

In front of Shen ng, he couldn’t do anything too ruthless. Since he had nothing else to do at the mont, he quickly drafted a list and handed it to Shen ng.

He wrote extensively, introducing not only his preferences but also striving to portray his good side with fancy wording. Perhaps due to being imrsed in the sweetness of their relationship, he only realized how different his writing style was from before after he finished writing.

His usual concise and simple style was replaced by an exaggeratedly flowery one, to the point of being overly theatrical.

Fortunately, Shen ng didn’t mind his exaggerated and lodramatic wording, just glanced over it roughly and praised his handwriting, “Your handwriting is very good.”

In her mory, Liang Jue mostly used delicate and elegant calligraphy, which, while elegant, didn’t have the grandeur of the current style. Thinking back to the past life, Liang Jue used to practice the popular style among young gentlen, but gradually lost his vitality over ti.

She originally thought that because Liang Jue was a man, his handwriting was just like that. However, it never occurred to her that Liang Jue would end up like that just because he wanted to be her perfect husband, gradually smoothing out all his edges. But when he successfully turned himself into a perfect smooth pebble, she found herself less attracted to this version of Liang Jue.

Liang Jue looked sowhat embarrassed, “I used to practice writing with a sandbag tied to my wrist. My mother said this way the characters would be stronger. I’ve seen your handwriting before, and it’s much better than mine.”

He spoke earnestly. Before marrying into the family, he had seen Shen ng’s calligraphy, and after marrying in, he noticed that her writing had improved even more. Although he was quite proud of his own handwriting before, he was still worried that Shen ng wouldn’t like this overly rigid style.

Won always like n to be gentle and soft as water, but no matter how tender he is, it can’t conceal the inherent toughness and stubbornness.

Shen ng said, “I’m speaking sincerely. Your handwriting is really good, just keep going in this direction. There’s no need to change anything; I really like it.”

Her handwriting might be slightly better than Shen ng’s, but she had spent more ti practicing. If Liang Jue were to practice seriously for as long as she did, his results might not necessarily be worse than hers.

Liang Jue smiled, “As long as you like it.”

The couple exchanged affectionate words in the warm room, while Wang Shuyue was left disheveled in the cold wind. The cold wind woke her up and made her realize what foolish things she had done earlier.

She felt a sense of dread and decided to spend another hour trying to sober up, but her body clearly couldn’t handle such turmoil. That night, she developed a high fever and was plagued by nightmares.

Despite being sick, she adamantly refused to stay at the mansion any longer and insisted on leaving early in the morning. Of course, she had a legitimate reason: “The doctor who often treats her at the mansion knows her body better and gives her more peace of mind. Besides, illnesses co and go unpredictably, and she doesn’t know when she’ll fully recover. She doesn’t want to trouble the Liang mansion.”

Originally, the Liang family wanted her to stay because they intended for her to be Liang Jue’s wife, but now that Liang Jue had married soone else, and not Wang Shuyue, the Liang family politely bid her farewell without much fuss.

From the surface, her appearance indeed seems unrelated to the mastermind behind the scenes, and although Liang Jue investigated and found no evidence implicating Wang Shuyue, he still added her na to the list of suspects. He reminded himself not to trust or act on his own judgnt next ti, whether it was Wang Shuyue or soone else.

After all, this ti Shen ng believed in him and was willing to listen to his explanation, but if it happened repeatedly, she would eventually be disappointed in him, sothing Liang Jue couldn’t bear.

With the cooperation of his mother and elder sister, Liang Jue spent a day investigating at the mansion, albeit discreetly, to avoid alerting anyone prematurely.

The next evening, Shen ng asked him, “We must return tomorrow. Have you figured out everything?”

Liang Jue nodded and shook his head, “Today, I haven’t discussed the specifics too much, but we’ll go back together tomorrow.”

Early the next morning, Shen ng dragged Liang Jue onto the carriage. As the carriage gradually left the Liang mansion, Shen ng solemnly asked Liang Jue, “Today is the last day. Have you investigated everything?”

Liang Jue nodded slightly.

Shen ng pressed on, “Then who was the person from that day, after all?”
