Chapter 683: Chapter 201 The Villain and the Hero

On the outskirts of the Royal Capital of the Black Feather Kingdom, Silver Gauze Light Manor.

“Hmm… What happened to ?”

In the luxurious castle bedroom, sunlight filters through a stone-carved arched window, casting a faint golden halo on the white cloud-patterned stone floor, illuminating the eyelids of the blonde girl lying in bed like a sleeping beauty.

Her brows twitched slightly, and Princess Paola murmured softly as she slowly awoke from her slumber.

She saw the inside of a wooden four-poster bed, with starry ornants adorning the curtains that hung from the bed’s edge, and a soft pink blanket covering her.

A delicate scent of silver snowflakes entered her nostrils, giving her a montary illusion that she was waking up in her own bedroom.

But the very next mont, she imdiately recalled the events before, her heart suddenly gripped with urgency, banishing all drowsiness.

Previously, Princess Paola, with her trusted maidservant in tow, concealed her identity to et a designated contact point, ready to secretly communicate with the Resistance Army when they were suddenly assaulted by spellcasters of unknown identity.

Her protective maidservant was hit by the enemy’s spell, her fate unknown, and she herself fell into the enemy’s illusion technique.

Looking at the blanket covering her, a terrible thought flashed through Paola’s mind. She forcefully threw off the blanket, and then, sowhat relieved, noticed that her clothes had not been tampered with, but so of her magic ornants had been taken.

Slowly sitting up, Princess Paola prepared to get out of bed, but at that mont, a wave of intense dizziness washed over her from inside her head, causing her alabaster arm, which supported her body, to falter, and she once again collapsed powerlessly onto the bed.

It was then she realized that her spiritual power was nearly exhausted, the scant remains insufficient to even cast a first-rank spell.

Assessing her condition, Princess Paola gritted her teeth against the heaviness in her brain as if filled with lead, and tried to sit up against the carved wooden headboard, slowly entering a state of ditation to recover so spiritual power as quickly as possible.

However, perhaps the sound of her getting out of bed had been too loud, for footsteps began to approach from outside the bedroom door.

This startled Paola, causing her to instantly snap out of her ditation and watch the door with vigilance.

After a short while, the carved door silently opened, and reflected in the green pupils of the little princess, which were slightly contracted, was the figure of Prince Otto, dressed in a white suit, erging from the dim corridor behind the door.

Unlike her, with her weak influence, Prince Otto was one of the few princes who truly wielded power, and his talent was the most exceptional among the many princes, making him seen by many kingdom nobles as a candidate for the next Black Feather King.

“Prince Otto… was it you who saved ?”

With nurous complex thoughts racing through her mind, Paola feigned weakness as she spoke softly.

No matter the circumstance, her safety was undoubtedly in Prince Otto’s hands at present, and now she could only use words to lower his guard as much as possible.

As the youngest princess, although Princess Paola’s talent was not weak, her own strength was far from comparable to that of the other princes and princesses, and it was only because she was greatly favored by the Black Feather King that she managed a comfortable life.

But lately, the beloved old Black Feather King’s health had been deteriorating, with even his daily hours of lucidity dwindling.

Many princes and princesses were busy making connections with the kingdom’s nobles, vying for power and influence in hopes of securing that position. In such tis, the disappearance of a little princess would not be noticed by anyone, and might even spare them the trouble of dealing with her themselves.

“Hmm… Yes, my sister, I did save you.”

A strange light flitted across his eyes, Prince Otto nodded slightly, his gaze fixed on Paola, who lay curled up on the bed, his expression inscrutable.

“Thank you for your help, Prince Otto, I feel unwell, could you please take back?”

Watching the prince’s deanor carefully, Paola tentatively asked.

“Why the hurry to return, dear Paola?”

However, as her heart sank with dread, Prince Otto shook his head and dissuaded her with what appeared to be goodwill.

“My manor has plenty of vacant rooms, and your current condition is quite poor. If you leave now, it is very likely that you could encounter danger again. Wouldn’t it be better to stay here until you have recovered before leaving?”

“Sorry, I just rembered that there are so things that need to be dealt with in my laboratory.”

Grinding her teeth, Paola used the slight spiritual power she had barely recovered, forcibly trying to get out of bed and leave.

However, Prince Otto, in his golden hair and white suit, suddenly approached slowly, pressuring the girl back onto the bed.

“My dear brother, please behave yourself.”

As Otto’s breath grew closer, Paola issued a warning whisper, trying to maintain an inviolable deanor, but her slightly shaking body betrayed her true emotions.

“Why be afraid, my dear sister? I will never hurt you, no matter what.”

Watching Princess Paola curled up at the head of the bed, Prince Otto suddenly reached out, pinching the girl’s chin, forcing her to look into his eyes, filled with panic, the sa fruit-green as his.

“Do you rember, when you were little, following behind , playing with that innocent and adorable look, promising to beco my bride when you grew up?”

Gazing at Paola’s slightly pale cheeks, Otto’s eyes, a burning green identical to hers, almost turned his fiery desire into tangible flas.

With that, he moved towards the girl’s soft lips, fiercely attempting to kiss her.

“Mmm…!”

But the mont their lips touched, the prince let out a stifled grunt as if electrocuted, tossing Paola back onto the bed, having been desperately bitten by her.

“You… good job.”

Dabbing his fingertip on his lips, observing the bloodstain on his white glove, a glint of rage flickered in Otto’s eyes, ready to take further action.

But at that mont, a token at his waist suddenly lit up.

“They’ve arrived already, so soon?”

Sensing the change in the token, the prince paused for a mont. He rembered that Landon should still have been in the Empire when he received the ssage.

“Curious about what’s happening?”

Glancing at Paola’s expression, Otto suddenly wore a dark smile and reassured her.

“Don’t worry, I’m just solving a little ‘trouble’ that’s been plaguing you.”

With that, amidst the alard look that suddenly appeared in Paola’s eyes, the prince left with big strides, leaving only a sinister sentence echoing in the room.

“No one can take you away from , not even that bastard from the Resistance Army!”

After the prince left, sensing the aura of the protective array around the room, Paola closed her eyes, flashing back to Otto’s gentleness when they were young and his perpetually somber expression nowadays, as a silent tear trickled down.

.….….

“This is the place, the location ntioned in the secret ssage.”

Elsewhere, with the help of the Secret Technique given to him by the Dark Crow Sect, Landon hurried to the eting location stated in the letter, near Royal Capital of the Black Feather Kingdom, at Silver Gauze Lake.

Following the instructions in the letter, Landon injected a trace of his spiritual power into the second column on the left side of a stone pavilion by the lakeside.

As the spiritual power was injected, a hidden rune flashed montarily.

The next mont, the ground in the center of the pavilion cracked open, revealing a pale gray stone platform with a black demon-repelling tal box, a roll of parchnt, and an earring placed on top.

A change flickered across Landon’s face, as he recognized the earring as an ornant that Paola always wore.
