Capítulo 654: Chapter 172: No Anomalies
“The target is the distant seabed, activate the Moon Without Light… no, activate the Magic Tower Array, launch the Fusion Magic [Light of Purification].”
Anvis wanted to test the power of the Floating City, but before he could finish his sentence, he changed his mind.
The discharge of the Moon Without Light was too conspicuous; even testing it in the depths of the Endless Sea might attract unnecessary attention.
A secret weapon reveals its strongest power only during its first unveiling.
“Your will, Your Highness the Controller—”
With Anvis’s thought, the surface of the Floating City slightly lit up. Imnse Magic Power traveled through the Magic Energy Circuit, converging at the six slim platinum spires at the terminal points, forming a complete Magic Array.
In a slight humming sound, a resplendent platinum light beam shot out from the center of the Magic Array, instantly piercing the depths of the Endless Sea and striking the ancient seabed.
The next mont, the previously dark blue sea water was illuminated instantaneously; endless platinum radiance burst forth from the seabed, like a nascent sun rising from the deep!
“Magic Tower Array entering cooling phase. Countdown: three minutes. Inscription circuit damage level: 2.6 percent.”
Listening to Pomiya’s self-diagnostic report, Anvis was quite satisfied with the test firing result.
The recent discharge of Light of Purification, in terms of power alone, had already reached the level of a full-force strike of the Ninth Rank.
These Magic Towers, too, were relics that Anvis had ‘rescued’ from the original Sky City. Unfortunately, with his current level of magical knowledge, he was not yet able to decipher the Core Array inscribed on them.
Although Pomiya could control and partly commission Demon Statues for maintenance, due to a lack of so key High Elf magical instrunts, the core parts could not be restored.
Previously, Anvis had handed over the information related to Sky City’s heritage to Duke Carrot, claiming it was ‘accidentally obtained’, hoping the Duke could surprise him by finding a way to produce so of these spires.
However, contrary to his wishes, after searching through the family’s secret collection, the Duke gave him bad news: with the current level of magic, repairing them would require a Ninth Rank Spellcaster to personally inscribe them with special rule power materials, and the completion of one spire would take months.
In other words, unless he could find a Ninth Rank to work for him.
Bishop Yanile could barely be considered one, but given his sensitive identity and nurous daily duties, he was not suitable for this task.
Therefore, Anvis could only temporarily make do with these towers, while trying to find the ancient High Elf instrunts he needed through channels with the Olivendi Family and the Glory Alliance.
Because of the High Elves’ pursuit of ultimate aesthetics, many nobles and collectors liked to collect these beautifully magical instrunts unearthed from relics.
But even now, with Sky City already risen, he had found only a few of the instrunts he was seeking, and the asking price was so high that even Anvis felt he was being ripped off.
Now that he had the Floating City, he couldn’t help but think of paying their hos a visit later on, trying to persuade them to lend him one or two instrunts to use.
However, looking at the newly restored Floating City, Anvis’s mind suddenly recalled the mysterious Half-Elf girl, Claire, who had written to him saying she was going to search for the great races’ lost city, and then vanished without a trace.
Strictly speaking, he had obtained the authorization for the Floating City with her help.
But he didn’t know how she was doing now.
However, this thought only flickered for a mont before it disappeared again.
From the mories shared by Claire, she seemingly existed from the Ancient Golden Age millions of years ago, when High Elves still existed. She even survived the [Great Rift] event and lived until now.
Anvis felt that perhaps one day in the future, even after he had died, Claire might still appear in her current form at his grave, placing a bunch of roses and possibly causing a landslide or earthquake.
After successfully restoring the Floating City, Anvis instructed Pomiya to activate the strongest hidden mode, temporarily hovering above the island.
He himself returned to the island base, planning to check on Ogman’s situation.
The Perfect Blood and Demonized Soldiers plan still required the latter’s strength; Anvis had to ensure that his employees were in normal condition.
But as he approached Ogman’s laboratory, Anvis noticed sothing was amiss.
In Ogman’s laboratory, the protective arrays were fully activated at maximum power. Simultaneously, the ntal state of Ogman coming through the Twisted Seed seed sowhat odd, as if continuously switching between fear and calm.
“I am the Supervisor. I heard there might have been an issue here, Lord Anvis has sent to check on your situation. Please open the protective array, Lord Ogman.”
Tapping the Sound Transmission Array at the entrance, Anvis spoke calmly.
“…Supervisor, Lord?”
As Anvis’ voice reached him, Ogman seed suddenly stunned, but then his ntal state fully returned to calm.
“I feel quite well, please co in.”
Following Ogman’s voice, the door slowly opened.
However, inside the open door, everything was pitch black, a cold aura silently seeping out from below. Even the light from outside the door could not illuminate the situation inside the laboratory.
“…Please do not mind the environnt here, Supervisor Lord. The experintal subjects I have been recently studying can’t be exposed to light.”
After a mont, a sowhat pale Ogman, leaning on a bone-white scepter, appeared in front of Anvis.
“It’s nothing, how is the progress of your research?”
Since the other party’s primary occupation is an ancient biologist, Anvis couldn’t say much.
“My research? Very good! It couldn’t be better!”
Upon ntioning his research, a sickly zeal suddenly flashed in Ogman’s eyes.
“Co with , let show you—”
Having said that, the sowhat hunchbacked old scholar, at a speed unfit for his stature, quickly pulled Anvis further into the laboratory.
Soon, a special, gigantic vat-like object appeared within Anvis’ spiritual sensing range.
Although devoid of color, Anvis could ‘see’ a peculiar entity resembling an abyssal lily bearing countless tiny tendrils, gently swaying in the liquid within the vat.
And the ‘deep-sea lily’s’ rootstock at the base was deeply rooted in the remains of an incomplete humanoid.
What made Anvis feel sowhat uncomfortable and familiar was that this humanoid remains had no facial features.
“After studying a new type of ancient biological remains found on this island, my Perfect Blood project achieved a huge breakthrough.
Do you know? It is the most perfect artwork in this world! Through a certain special secretion in its body, I finally succeeded in concocting the Ninth Rank [Perfect Blood]!
These new Demonized Soldiers benefit from it too; their demonized biological flesh integrates more High Rank bloodlines without disintegrating, which allows them to endure a greater source of Magic Power and exhibit stronger combat capabilities!”
Excited, Ogman’s tone beca incredibly fervent.
“…Have there been any unusual situations recently at the base, Lord Ogman?”
However, staring at Ogman’s hunched silhouette in front of the gigantic cultivation vat, Anvis suddenly spoke.
“Unusual situations?”
Upon hearing these words, Ogman’s body stiffened. A flash of panic surfaced from the depths of his eyes but disappeared almost in the next instant.
After a mont, he slowly turned around, his gaze carrying a strangely calm look at Anvis.
“There are no problems here, Supervisor Lord—”
