Chapter 645: Chapter 163: Secrets

Before Shute arrived, the most powerful person in the room was an Eighth Rank Storm Mage who was responsible for protecting the Envoy. The fact that the Mage was completely unaware of his detection indicated that his spiritual power was far weaker than his own.

As an Eighth Ranker whose Talent Magic was in the domain of Illusion Magic, Anvis easily deluded the Seventh Rank City Lord, making the City Lord believe that a young man beside him was the newly captured Anvis.

He himself was sitting in the City Lord’s study, his spiritual power wide open, enveloping and observing the entire situation within the City Lord Mansion.

In fact, the mont he was brought into the City Lord Mansion by that foolish thief, Anvis’s spiritual power had already scanned the entire Mansion, confirming there was no presence that could truly threaten him.

In reality, this was the norm on the Yar Continent. True Ninth Rankers were extrely rare and often elusive, barely appearing in front of lower-ranked Professionals.

The strongest Professionals who usually appear in common settings are of the Seventh Rank; seeing an Eighth Ranker is an extrely rare occurrence.

Anvis often encountered various Ninth Rankers, but this was due to the skewed influence from his identity as the son of Duke Carrot.

Before this banquet, Anvis had already heard the entire discussion between the City Lord and the butler.

He was uncertain whether the Envoys of the Marquises who arrived tonight were also affected by the rcury Dice, but this rambunctious banquet was clearly the ‘gathering place of Desire’ indicated by the rcury Dice for him.

This was a good opportunity, not just to nurture the growth of the Desire Seed but perhaps also to arrange a little surprise for those Marquises leading the rebellion.

So, he patiently waited until now.

The Dragon Shadow City Lord did not disappoint him; this grand revelry was very novel to Anvis and also allowed him to understand the entertainnt thods of the Federation’s ordinary Nobles and Professionals.

As nurous Professionals began their revelry in the courtyard, Anvis could clearly feel a great surge of chaotic Power of Desire. The Desire Seed floating in his Spirit Space also seed to be strongly stimulated and beca noticeably more active.

Especially when many Professionals drank the Enchanted Dream Potion and sank into the ecstasy of the Dream Realm, an even thicker and more intense Power of Desire emanated from them, like vessels that were already brimming yet being ceaselessly filled.

This invisible excess of Desire converged together, like an evil nectar watering the Desire Seed, causing misty patterns to gradually climb over its surface.

Anvis had also obtained a bottle of that Enchanted Dream Potion; according to his analysis, the main ingredients were poor quality Dream Grass and the Scale Powder of Dark Moths, possessing a weak magic power to hook up the deepest desires and create illusions, to no effect on him.

anwhile, as the main banquet continued, Anvis noticed, besides the people from the Starfire Organization, others who secretly contacted the Marquis’ representative included so Nobles from the Glory Alliance and representatives of so dium and small-sized Kingdoms of the Federation. However, their strength was not strong, and the big fish had not yet appeared.

Tonight’s eting was only a prelude. The Federation’s upper echelons were still in a wait-and-see state, hesitating whether to take this opportunity to intervene in the Empire’s civil war and take a slice of the pie.

The biggest risk was that no one could be certain how long the ‘friction’ between the Marquises and the two Great Families would last. If the Marquises conceded too quickly, then those foreign forces who rashly intervened would suffer, and all their initial investnts would have been for naught.

The eting with the Marquis’ Envoy tonight also aid to probe each other’s bottom line.

However, despite various probes, the Envoy didn’t give in, rely responding to everyone with all sorts of evasive remarks. Also, with reasons such as not everyone has arrived yet, the ti is not right yet, he kept refusing to bring up anything substantial.

It was only after the arrival of Shute from the Starfire Organization, with hints from the Storm Mage who was guarding him, that the Envoy’s attitude changed slightly, formally greeting him with a gesture, but still remained tight-lipped.

This situation also made Anvis sowhat curious, what exactly was the other party waiting for?

.….….

As ti passed, tonight’s banquet finally reached its climax.

At the head seat, the sowhat corpulent City Lord finally stood up from the encirclent of his slaves, striding towards the staircase-shaped podium in the center of the hall.

anwhile, under the influence of magic, all the lights in the hall suddenly converged upon him, casting his tall figure into the spotlight of the entire audience.

“Ladies and gentlen! I hereby announce the end of tonight’s banquet segnt!”

Upon hearing the City Lord’s call, everyone, including the classical orchestra that was playing, montarily grew silent, their gazes shifting towards the towering figure wearing the dark gold mask.

Amid the vast array of expectant eyes, the City Lord raised his hands high and sounded a rallying cry.

“Now, let the dance begin!”

As the City Lord’s voice fell, the background music resud, but unlike the refined classical music that had been swirling around the venue, the new music that started was a rhapsody brimming with sweetness and desire.

Every note seed to carry passion and seduction, similar to the music that would have been played in the eternal revelries of the gods’ garden in ancient myths.

One after another, stunning girls and boys with numb expressions, dressed in sheer garb and wearing Magic Prohibition Necklaces, entered the hall carrying trays of pure gold. On those trays were bottles upon bottles of even more psychedelic and bewitching Magic Potions, neatly arranged.

Unlike the Enchanted Dream Potions used by lowly Professionals, these were of a higher level, not causing the drinker to sink into dream realms, but rather amplifying all emotions of pleasure and thrill exponentially.

Noble guests casually took a bottle from the trays and, without hesitation, downed it in one gulp. Then, they embraced the girls and boys they fancied and entered the dance floor, wildly moving to the music, indulging in a debauched revelry.

A wonderful world opened its doors to them, all morals and boundaries abandoned, as if the mythological garden of the gods had descended upon the mortal realm at this mont.

At this mont, in Anvis’s perception, the chaotic Power of Desire in the environnt had climbed to a new level.

“Now, everyone, the ti has co.”

In this chaotic crowd, the Envoy seemingly finally got what he was waiting for, shifting his tone, no longer evasive or stalling, and began to truly delve into the information that people wanted to know.

“I am well aware of what concerns lie in your hearts, nothing more than worrying that the Marquises backing have failed too quickly, leading to severe losses for yourselves.”

At this point, a hint of contempt flashed in the Envoy’s eyes.

“Everyone is aware of the Empire’s Four Great Families’ strength, but has any of you considered this? Why did the Marquises suddenly choose to band together this ti and take direct action against two of the major families?

The concerns you all have, do you think the Marquises didn’t think of them? Should the plan fail, the losses that the Marquises would suffer would be tenfold, a hundredfold greater than yours!”

“Now, I can clearly tell you all that this ti is different from the past; an extrely special power has ford a secret alliance with the Marquises.

It is because of this power’s involvent, with sufficient confidence, that we dare to attempt to confront the two major families head-on!”
