Chapter 624: Chapter 142: The Disappearing Book
This is a dangerous on.
The thought suddenly appeared in Anvis’s mind. Although it was his first ti entering this special state of perspective, it did not hinder his instinctive ability to read certain information.
Just as he had thought, the originally stagnant battlefield area suddenly began to distort.
The twisted void started to stretch, billow, and deform… and finally, it suddenly collapsed inward. Blinding radiance, like that of a supernova explosion, burst forth from the core in an instant.
A result erged from the battle; aside from a few Ninth Ranks who had started fighting inexplicably, the attention of everyone else was entirely drawn to it.
No, it was not quite right to say inexplicably.
Anvis glanced at that box, and so faint, ethereal lines of fate had already connected to those few Ninth Ranks.
It held special value, and although it was not yet ti to show it, that ti would co soon.
At this mont, the other young nobles present were sowhat stunned.
In less than a few minutes, first, the many Ninth Ranks left in charge suddenly began to fight amongst themselves, and then the situation on the battlefield underwent a drastic change.
Thankfully, several Ninth Ranks had each used their domains to divide the battlefield, deliberately avoiding the area where many noble descendants were; otherwise, it would be uncertain how many of them would still be alive.
Anvis’s gaze swept past these young noble n and won, before pausing slightly on a blonde youth.
There was nothing particularly unusual about the youth’s current actions; he simply appeared sowhat cautious, taking defensive precautions, observing the situation on the battlefield.
But unlike the others, the lines of fate extending from him pointed directly towards the core of the battlefield, almost perfectly aligning with the directions of the lines extending from the box.
In this pure Net of Destiny perspective, Anvis imdiately concluded that the youth was related to certain events about to erge in the battlefield.
The next instant, the answer was revealed.
When the violent radiance dissipated, the group of Ninth Ranks and that mysterious yellow-robed figure reerged before everyone’s eyes.
Everything seed unchanged from before the battle, but a closer perception would reveal that the auras of many Ninth Ranks had beco extrely unstable, fluctuating wildly.
That strange figure was still floating in its original place, but its body surface appeared sowhat ethereal, and the faint luster of its yellow robe had faded, looking sowhat dull and greyish.
Most importantly, the bizarre influence that could cause the onlookers’ psyches to collapse, which it had earlier, was now gone.
As the crowd wondered about the outco of the battle, that huge yellow-robed figure suddenly made its first move to date.
It paid no attention to the many Ninth Ranks nearby, but instead, turned its dark hooded head to look towards the nearby spectator area.
In that direction, sothing had attracted it.
Seeing its action, a few Ninth Ranks involved in the battle beca a bit restless.
The abrupt halt in the conflict was not because one side had won, but rather because that yellow-robed being had suddenly stopped in the midst of the dangerous rule confrontation, even at the cost of suffering a disadvantage.
Now, observing that it seed to have the intention of heading towards the spectator area, so Ninth Ranks worried about their progeny were imdiately inclined to take action.
However, the leaders of the Three Great Forces suddenly, as if by tacit agreent, prevented these Ninth Ranks from intervening.
“There is no need for concern, gentlen. It is just a projection of strength. We have already weakened it by more than seventy percent; the Ninth Ranks left behind should be sufficient to handle it,”
Saint ssia III narrowed his holy white pupils and spoke indifferently,
“Humph, is there no one curious about what exactly happened over there that attracted its attention? You should know, it did not co out for no reason.”
Gloria III sneered coldly, as he had no intention of letting those scheming behind the scenes off so easily.
“Let’s observe the situation first.”
Looking at the other two, the Federation Chairman sighed.
Most of the Ninth Rank who had not participated in the battle were from the Federation.
Because of the special system of the various small kingdom councils, he did not have binding authority over the council mbers, and many of these mbers already had conflicts due to different interests and positions.
But to plot during the first-ever summit of the Three Great Empires’ leaders, this kind of action had already crossed a line.
As the figure in the yellow robe moved toward the spectator area, none of the Ninth Rank made a move.
Although so of the Ninth Rank were worried about their descendants, they ultimately did not act under the control of their respective leaders.
.….….
“No, it’s not it.”
Watching the approaching figure of the imnse yellow robe, Anvis observed without a flicker of emotion.
The extended illusory threads of destiny could not truly make contact with its body; they were repelled by so special kind of Alien Power.
Many noble descendants were already shaking in terror, and the few Ninth Rank who were initially fighting had also stopped. The Ninth Rank who had originally snatched the box, holding it now, seed to be caught in a dilemma.
It was clear that the figure in the yellow robe was after that very box. Having gone to great lengths to obtain it, it would be a joke to give it up so easily.
But if he did not hand it over, he would likely have to face the fearso figure directly.
‘In three seconds, he will throw the box away.’
Anvis instinctively sensed this and then looked towards that Ninth Rank with so surprise.
Sure enough, when the ti ca, the Ninth Rank gritted his teeth and suddenly threw the box and the scroll in his hand toward the direction of the battlefield.
But as everyone watched, the imnse figure in the yellow robe flickered and reappeared, blocking the box’s flight path.
Stopped abruptly mid-flight, the scroll flew out of the box, touching the surface of the yellow robe on the figure.
In Anvis’s eyes, the Net of Destiny in the hall trembled at that mont.
The symbols on the scroll suddenly emitted a yellow ethereal glow, and within this light, the huge phantom image of the yellow robe gradually faded away.
Conversely, the damaged scroll began to be rapidly restored, and the seemingly burnt pages began to ‘regrow’ anew.
Soon, a completely rejuvenated, extraordinary book quietly hovered in mid-air.
Everyone could see it was a valuable object, but the question was, under the scrutiny of the Three Great Empires’ leaders, who would be the first to make a move and be the target?
But they soon no longer needed to hesitate, as the book suddenly vanished on its own, with no clue as to where it went.
In the instant the book disappeared, a few Ninth Rank attempted to obstruct it, but none succeeded. Like the previous phantom in the yellow robe, the book seed to have an inherent immunity to control.
“So, that’s what it’s all about…”
However, from Anvis’s perspective, the whereabouts of the book were not untraceable. He sensed Landon’s presence from the other end of the thread of destiny.
