"Do you think you can absolve yourself of all responsibility with a flippant ’you too are victims’?"
However, Sid was not buying any of Talina’s explanation.
"Hand over the murderer and the Sword of King Selection, or declare war imdiately. I will not repeat myself a third ti!"
Sid laughed in fury, his gaze fiercely fixed on Talina. Beneath him, the Golden Giant Dragon, which was the size of a small hill, also gave a low growl, ready for battle.
"Firstly, Sikasa has fallen into a state of ntal dormancy. I can’t give you any response until he awakens and the situation is clarified.
Secondly, are you sure that what your Prophet has foreseen is the truth? In the Magic World as it has developed to this day, there have been more than one secret technique that can interfere with a prophecy. At our level, I would think you’re well aware of this as well.
Lastly, the sword that Sikasa brought back is but a counterfeit, and I too will not repeat myself a third ti."
Standing atop the Secret Magic Tower, Talina clenched her Silver Moon Heart Wand tightly, her silver eyes staring at the knight in golden armor standing atop the pure golden dragon, her tone coldly uttering without fear of the threat before her.
Although her strength was only at the level of a veteran Ninth Rank, the difference in combat power for a High Rank spellcaster with or without the bolstering of a Magic Tower is as vast as heaven and earth.
And as a mber of the Enock family, known throughout the Empire for their profound magical knowledge, no one can run amok in the Forest of Thousand Towers in Magnum, not even a Dragon Knight at the Ninth Rank Limit.
"...I often hear that if the Thousand Tower City of the Enock family were to operate at full capacity, its power could even rival the Floating City of the Continent Magic Council."
Sid slowly gripped the hilt of the sword behind him, inch by inch drawing the Dark Gold Great Sword with mysterious patterns out from behind.
Throughout this process, the invisible montum emanating from him gradually began to rise, and when the Great Sword was nearly fully drawn, the imnse pressure felt almost tangible, as if the air itself had beco viscous and ceased to flow.
"It seems that today, I, Sid, shall be fortunate to witness the fad power of the Thousand Tower Forest land of the Enock family."
With his chilling words falling, and under the montum that had peaked, Sid’s arm muscles swelled as if gripping a mountain, and he swung his sword at Talina with agonizing slowness.
Where the blade passed, the air distorted strangely. It was as if a drop of cleaner suddenly fell on the surface of an oil painting, blending all the colors into one.
This was a result of an attack purely by the force of rules. When the world’s operating rules were distorted at the surface level, things that exist dependent on the world itself would inevitably be twisted and destroyed.
In the face of this dreadful attack, Talina’s gaze was incredibly calm. Raising the wand in her hand that radiated the moonlight silver light, she ford a massive hexagonal semi-transparent Magic Barrier in an instant before the slash.
At the sa ti, the Forest of Thousand Towers behind her emitted a faint light, and an unbelievable strength was bestowed upon her, greatly amplifying her own Rule Control abilities.
The next instant, the slash collided with the Barrier.
There was no thunderous montum or bright light at the collision point –everything turned into a strange black void, and even concepts like ’sound’ and ’light’ were twisted and obliterated.
After a very brief standoff, the ’blockage’ concept of the Barrier was also distorted, and a chaotic large hole was torn open, but the second and third layers of defense continued to block the slash.
When the slash had pierced through twelve layers of barriers and was less than fifty ters away from the body of the Magic Tower, it was finally stopped by the thirteenth Barrier and dissipated together into nothingness.
"...Not bad at all, quite a tough shell indeed."
Seeing this, Sid’s eyebrows also raised slightly.
Although the previous sword strike seed unimposing, he had indeed used his full force. In his estimation, this slash should have at least caused minor Rule damage to the Silver Moon Traveler himself.
But things were a bit different from what he had expected. Even though it seed difficult, the opponent managed to truly block his attack with the aid of those Magic Towers.
"Hmph! Not bad... Fengtis, it’s in your hands now!"
Realizing that his normal form seed to be ineffective against Talina, Sid let out a cold snort, closed his eyes, and then reopened them. As his pupils completely transford into the vertical slits of a Giant Dragon, his aura and the Giant Dragon beneath him instantly rged into one.
"Roar——!!"
A wild Magic Power storm burst forth from Sid’s body, its trendous montum even affected the celestial phenona, causing thick leaden clouds resembling the eye of a storm to gather out of thin air, enveloping the entire Forest of Thousand Towers.
"Do not let the cunning use you as a pawn in vain, Lord Sid."
Gazing coldly at the Golden Giant Dragon in the sky with an air of arrogance, Talina tapped her Magic Wand on the ground. Innurable silver-white lines spread from the base of the wand, flowing and Climbing along the surface patterns of the entire Mage Tower, even making the Thousand Towers behind her emit a faint Moonlight glow.
A spine-chilling sense of danger instantly enveloped Sid. Even though he teleported multiple tis in an instant, this sense of peril locked onto him like an inescapable plague.
"..."
Silence.
After both parties had revealed all their cards, they fell into a special standoff.
Both sides could feel that in this state, the next clash of attacks could potentially lead to unforeseen and serious consequences.
In such a situation, both sides developed profound concerns in their hearts.
Even the belligerent Aslade had to consider, under the premise of uncertainty about the target’s authenticity, whether it was worth engaging in a mortal combat that could potentially require a century of recuperation.
"...Lord Sid, before your arrival, we had also perford a Prophecy. I can understand your current feelings.
However, the injury Sikasa sustained is extrely mysterious and cannot simply be explained by the relic’s self-destruction aftermath. I hope we can temporarily cease hostilities to thoroughly investigate this matter before deciding on our next move."
Maintaining this state of deterrence, Talina suddenly spoke up.
Since both parties had serious concerns, it ant that resolving the issue in a way other than combat had beco possible.
"...Give that sword, and I’ll leave."
With a solemn expression, staring down at the Thousand Tower Forest, after a long mont, Sid suddenly spoke.
"I can only promise you half of it."
After so thought, Talina spoke up, conceding a step.
Monts later, watching the Golden Giant Dragon’s figure disappear from the clouds, Talina
