Chapter 352: Chapter 127 Heavenly Stairs

Unlike the primal style of the black rock that ford the entire hall, this obelisk was made of a silver tal. However, a small portion of it where it connected to the ground had already assimilated into black rock material, the sa as the cave.

From this detail, it seems likely that this hall was not originally a black rock cavern but so other kind of structure.

The player girl stood in front of the obelisk, seemingly reading its contents.

But after Anvis walked over, he realized she was actually using the system’s screenshot function to capture the content on the obelisk, then posting it to the forum in the section for difficult questions—Ancient Languages subdivision.

Most of the text on the obelisk was written in High Elf script, interspersed occasionally with so special Old Manuni language nouns.

“Curious about the records here, Miss Vivian?”

Anvis chuckled as he approached her side.

“Uh! Yes, Lord Anvis—”

Suddenly hearing Anvis’s voice beside her, the player girl who was focused on taking photos turned around in surprise.

At this mont, Claire also walked over and took a glance at the records on the tal obelisk.

“This is High Elf language, recording the origins of this city…”

Her ocean-blue eyes moved slightly as Claire concentrated on reading the text on the obelisk, explaining its contents to the player girl at the sa ti.

“Pomiya, this city’s na is Pomiya.”

“‘Heavenly Stairs’? Suits the aesthetic style of the High Elves quite well.”

Anvis nodded, comnting naturally on the aning of the na.

According to the obelisk records, the city was completed in April of the year 7035 according to the High Elf Calendar, being the twelfth ‘Silver Moon Level’ Floating City.

After construction, the Floating City Pomiya, as one of the main forces, participated in the wars between the High Elves, Legendary Giant Dragons, and Titans. It boasts achievents of critically wounding a Legendary Golden Dragon, a Legendary Crystal Dragon, and a Silver Thunder Titan.

When the Purple Moon Amis descended, a large number of unknown creatures arrived with it, their appearances diverse and all of them bizarrely terrifying. The High Elves collectively nad them ‘Moon Beasts’.

Afterward, the High Elves coordinated in battle with dragons, Titans, and all other native creatures of Yar Continent.

As the front of the battle formation, the Floating City Pomiya killed an equivalent of a Legendary level Moon Beast, twelve Ninth Rank Limit Moon Beasts, and thirty-one Ninth Rank Moon Beasts. Countless other Moon Beasts of lower ranks were also slain.

By the end phase of the Purple Moon War, due to the adverse battle situation, the High Elves decided to withdraw.

At this point, the records on the obelisk ca to an end.

After listening to Claire’s explanation, the panel of Xia Ye Yinghuo automatically popped up. At the top of the task nu, the completion of “The Fall of Pomiya” was refreshed to twenty percent.

“Thank you for explaining it to , Sister Claire—”

The silver-haired girl quickly expressed her gratitude, aware that both Anvis and Claire could read the text on the obelisk from their earlier conversation.

Claire reading it aloud could only be in consideration for her.

“No need.”

Looking at her equally pointed ears, the Half-Elf girl shook her head, but her expression softened slightly.

“So, Vivian, I have a task that I need your help with.”

At this mont, Anvis suddenly spoke, drawing Xia Ye Yinghuo’s attention.

As he spoke, he pulled out a blood-red crystal diamond that he had taken from the altar earlier and shook it, dazzling the player girl’s eyes with the reflection from the gemstone.

“Do you see that black cocoon in the center of the hall? If you help eliminate the thing inside the cocoon, I will give you this crystal diamond as a reward.”

With Anvis’s words, the player girl’s panel instantly popped up with a task trigger prompt.

[System Notification: You have triggered an SSS rank task ‘Eliminate the Unknown Black Cocoon’]

[Task Introduction: Anvis hopes that you’ll eliminate the unknown dark cocoon before you, although it sounds more like a joke.]

[Task Goal: Eliminate the dark cocoon]

[Task Reward: 1e Experience Value, Top-quality Dragon Blood Crystal Diamond *1]

[Suggested Challenge Level: 96 ]

???

Staring blankly at the huge dark cocoon in the center of the hall, Xia Ye Yinghuo turned her head back around, her face full of question marks.

Isn’t the level cap just at 96?! How could there be such an outrageous task!

“Anvis, are you serious?”

Claire also looked at him strangely, not understanding what he was trying to do.

“It’s nothing, just a joke.”

With a chuckle, Anvis glanced at Xia Ye Yinghuo’s panel and casually glossed over the matter, while extinguishing the thought of using the perspective of fate to peek at the cocoon.

He had always been sowhat skeptical, whether the ‘darkness from the distant stars, sleeping in the eternal palace’ described in the Ancient Secret Scripture’s prophecy was indeed referring to this dark cocoon.

It’s not to say the aura of this cocoon wasn’t strong, but compared to the pitch-black Sealing he absorbed last ti, it was still sowhat lacking.

But at this mont, Anvis’s heart suddenly stirred, and his gaze quickly shifted towards the direction of the door.

In the direction they ca from, so unusual sounds and auras were approaching rapidly!

.….….

Minutes before Rein picked up that stone egg, Roche’s four-man squad was attempting to excavate the stone pillars around the huge cave with the black Obelisk where they had been previously.

Their team had previously split, with the classmate Pei Zi, who had always disapproved of Roche, opting to explore other areas of the ruins with another team mber, hoping to find so lost High Rank equipnt.

With persuasion proving futile, the four people in the team could only let them leave.

“I found it! Captain Mondolo, there seems to be a special mineral inside this one!”

After opening a crack with considerable expenditure of Magic Power, Roche looked at the unique luster of the magic mineral inside the fissure and excitedly whispered.

“Let see.”

Hearing his voice, the three teammates gathered around.

The brown-haired acting captain Mondolo conjured a Light Ball to inspect the Dark Gold material of the mineral in the crack.

“Not bad, this mineral, although we can’t yet discern the exact type, it can be confird as a high-ranked magical mineral.”

Getting confirmation from the knowledgeable captain, Roche couldn’t hide his elation and began using Spells to excavate with renewed vigor, with Matt aiding on the side.

As per the previous agreent among the squad mbers, minerals discovered by an individual allowed the discoverer to take sixty percent. The remaining forty percent was to be converted into Gold Coins based on value and then split among the entire team afterwards.

Smiling as he watched Roche and Matt excavate, Mondolo leaned against a stone pillar, his gaze drifting past the seemingly relaxed but always vigilant Alisa and suddenly spoke.

“Hey—three of you, what do you think about the ‘Starfire’ organization that’s been spreading around the Empire recently?”

“Starfire? I’ve heard it’s a civilian ‘Resistance Army,’ aid at opposing the rule of the Nobles in the Empire’s higher echelons.”

Roche and Matt paused in their digging at the ntion, but didn’t imdiately respond. Instead, Alisa pondered for a mont and then shared what she knew.

“Honestly, I think the dream of this force is a bit unrealistic, just like a child wielding a wooden sword and challenging a Giant.”

Alisa concluded with her assessnt at the end.
