"Then, take this~ It should be enough to hire a Healer for your mother’s treatnt—"
Understanding Anvis’s intention, the girl thought for a mont, then handed her purse directly to the little boy, and sweetly smiled at him.
"This..."
Clutching the heavy purse in his hands, the little boy Pace was so shocked that he even forgot to wipe his tears.
"Thank you! Thank you, big sister!"
Upon regaining his senses, he excitedly knelt down before the girl, his ssy red hair trembling continuously.
"No, there’s no need for that, it’s just so Gold Coins..."
Seeing this, Fiona also got a bit flustered and quickly reached out her dainty hand, covered with white lace gloves, to help him up.
Watching this scene, Anvis was not surprised by the girl’s choice.
After a mont of silence, he casually glanced at the surroundings, took out the Crystal Bird Naplate, and conveyed a brief instruction to his Guards.
The Grey Crow Market was a hive of activity, especially since they were in the central square, and there were more eyes on them than just his.
anwhile, after repeatedly expressing his gratitude to Fiona, the little boy reluctantly left.
The girl also waved to him with a smile on her face, appearing quite pleased.
As she watched the little boy’s figure gradually disappear into the crowd, Fiona turned back to Anvis, tugged gently at his sleeve, and spoke in a coquettish tone with a hint of whining in her voice.
"So, brother~ I handled it properly, didn’t I?"
"I just think that, with this money, he should be able to cure his mother, and also buy ice cream for himself and his little brothers and sisters—"
Gazing into Fiona’s eyes filled with hope for approval, Anvis smiled slightly and nodded gently.
"Given the intent behind your decision, there’s nothing wrong with how you handled it."
But before Fiona could rejoice at her brother’s praise, Anvis’s next words suddenly made her heart skip a beat.
"However, Fei, let show you what will happen next—"
"What will happen next?"
The girl repeated anxiously, sensing that sothing might be amiss from the way Anvis spoke.
Without letting the girl’s imagination run wild, Anvis gently took her small hand, and a diamond-shaped gemstone on a ring at his finger lit up, a pale blue Magic Light imdiately enveloping them both.
Sixth Rank Wind Elent Spell—[Group Flight Technique]
As the Spell took effect, the two lifted into the air like leaves carried by the wind.
Simultaneously, another ring on Anvis’s finger shined, and the colorless Magic Light of a high-level Invisibility Technique silently spread, causing the figures of the two and a cat to dissolve in the last rays of the setting sun.
Around the square, two or three people looked up at where the pair had disappeared, but most didn’t pay it any mind; flying wasn’t forbidden in the Grey Crow Market of the Middle District.
Flying in the sky, Fiona curiously pinched Anvis’s hand gently.
Theoretically, she, not yet a Fourth Rank, shouldn’t be able to see Anvis. However, her True Vision Ability, granted by her Legendary Bloodline Awakening, allowed her to vaguely make out Anvis’s outline.
Sensing through the Naplate the position marked by his Guards, Anvis carried Fiona, drifting slowly towards the southwest side of the Royal Capital’s Middle District.
In the direction at the end, separated by a single wall from the Middle District, lay the Lower City District, the slums of the Royal Capital Palosia.
In the backdrop of a magical dieval setting, the ergence of slums was inevitable, even in the Gloria Capital, one of the Three Great Empires.
The residents of the slums are mostly migrants from other places, usually drawn to the allure of big city life or forced to leave their holands due to various natural and man-made disasters.
Penniless, they hope to carve out a living in the tropolis but, unable to afford even the cheapest housing, they can only congregate outside the Royal Capital’s walls, haphazardly constructing shanties to live in.
As a result, with the increasing number of these people, the Lower City District and the slums ca into existence, with the only differences between the two being the density and quality of the housing and the rates of cri.
However, with the ergence of players in dire need of experience, the vicious cris in the slums have decreased significantly in the past half-year.
After allowing a flock of white pigeons to pass by the Empire Bell Tower in the evening glow, Anvis led Fiona, arriving above the slum area.
The environnt in the slum is extrely dirty and disorderly; on roads long overdue for repair, garbage and excrent can be seen everywhere.
The houses are built in a crowded and chaotic manner, and the air is filled with pungent odors, a world apart from the Middle District separated by just one wall.
Sensing the specific coordinates, Anvis slightly adjusted the flight direction and set off towards the location.
Monts later, at the dark end of an alleyway in the slums, the boy from before reappeared in the sight of the two.
Now he lay on the ground, pale and exhausted, with dark circles under his eyes and red hair matted with dirt; his left arm was bent at an unnatural angle.
His clothes were torn and covered with filth and bloodstains, and his right hand clutched at a bleeding wound on his stomach; the money pouch he once had was long gone.
"How could he..."
Murmuring, Fiona suddenly covered her mouth with her hand, her lake-blue eyes filled with shock and sadness.
"No, it’s all my fault... I shouldn’t have given him so much money..."
The girl wasn’t foolish; seeing the scene, she imdiately understood the cause and effect.
"Do you understand, Fei? Every choice we make leads to a corresponding consequence. Even if our intentions are good, mistakes in execution can cause huge distortions in the outco."
Anvis looked down at the scene below with a calm expression, speaking seriously - he had anticipated the eventual outco of the situation.
When the boy left earlier, he had instructed his guard to temporarily look after the child.
The money could be stolen, but they were to save his life and not let the robbers kill him.
After finishing, Anvis’s tone softened again as he comforted the demoralized girl with gentle words.
"However, you shouldn’t bla yourself too much, Fei. The main problem isn’t with you. When he got the gold coin, he wasn’t satisfied but instead asked you for more, which is the sin of greed.
Wealth beyond one’s capabilities to protect is synonymous with disaster. His current predicant is also the result of his choice—"
While speaking, Anvis smiled, glanced at the boy below whose breath was growing weaker, and sent a ssage using his Identity naplate.
"Moreover, he’s actually quite fortunate because he’s still alive, which ans he still possesses precious life. Even more fortunate is that he t you, the smart and adorable Miss Fiona—"
As Anvis spoke, a figure in plainclothes suddenly appeared in front of the boy, a milky-white Light Ball of Healing Technique hovering between their hands, swiftly healing the wounds all over his body.
After that, taking the boy with them, the figure disappeared just as they had appeared.
"After giving him a bag of gold coins, you promptly realized your mistake and hurriedly dispatched soone, saving the boy who was at death’s door, and arranged for his family situation to be investigated."
In mid-air, having dispelled the Invisibility Technique from both of them, Anvis winked at the girl.
"His mother will receive treatnt, his two younger siblings will be taken care of, and his father will receive so ntal punishnt, losing any interest in gambling, bringing this story to a happy ending."
"...Thank you, brother."
After a mont of silence, the young girl with light golden hair suddenly buried her face in the young man’s chest.
