Lixue blushed, wanting to escape Mo Ran’s presence but she was trapped between him.
"The dress is beautiful, I knew it was from you the mont I saw it.."
Mo Ran chuckled as he retracted his hands, leaning against the desk.
"Getting Maison Laurent to design it wasn’t easy but he’s going to be your designer from now on. You’ll et with him soon.."
Lixue’s eyes widened, there wasn’t a person who didn’t know who Maison Laurent, the god of the fashion industry that had reigned for 10 years and suddenly disappeared and even up until now no one had out thrown him.
"Praise wifey...I know youre impressed.."
Lixue’s eyes widened as she stood up, she wasn’t just impressed, she was shocked as well.
The dress on her body was brought to life by the hands of Maison Laurent?!! She could sell this dress for millions!
"Mo Ran you’re amazing!"
Mo Ran smiled as he pointed at his cheek, this would be the perfect ti to get a kiss from Lixue.
"A kiss would seal the deal.."
Lixue ears reddened as she stretched for a kiss, a kiss was nothing compared to the dress on her body.
"Thank you Mo Ran, this is honestly amazing.."
Mo Ran raised a brow. "Still formal with ?"
She hesitated before sighing. "Fine... Thank you, husband."
The mont the word left her lips, Mo Ran’s smirk widened dangerously.
"Wife, say that again."
Lixue’s ears burned. "I take it back."
Mo Ran laughed, but there was a gleam in his eyes, as if he had already morized the mont forever.
Before she could find another excuse to run, a knock at the door interrupted them.
"President Mo, Miss Y.L—"
It was Shen Yu, Mo Ran’s assistant. His gaze flickered briefly between them before he continued professionally.
"The car is ready. The dia presence outside has doubled, and Yu Jia just made a move."
Lixue’s amusent faded instantly.
"What did she do?" Mo Ran asked, his carefree deanor cooling into sothing sharper.
Shen Yu handed him a tablet. "She posted on Weibo."
Mo Ran glanced at the screen, and his expression darkened.
Lixue stepped closer, looking over his shoulder.
Her sister’s na was trending again—
Yu Jia: "I have always worked hard to get where I am. It’s painful to see my efforts being taken for granted. The industry is cruel, but I never imagined the betrayal would co from family."
Lixue’s hands clenched at her sides.
Family.
Yu Jia was playing the victim.
And the industry would eat it up.
Lixue’s fingers curled against her palm as she stared at the post. The words dripped with calculated sorrow, perfectly crafted to draw sympathy.
The betrayal would co from family.
Yu Jia was making a move—shaping the narrative before anyone else could.
Mo Ran’s voice was calm, but the sharp edge beneath it was unmistakable. "Shen Yu, what’s the dia response?"
Shen Yu’s expression didn’t change as he scrolled. "The public is already divided. Yu Jia’s fans are rallying behind her, while the neutrals are questioning who she’s referring to. But with Y.L Mongolia trending, it’s not hard for people to connect the dots."
Lixue took a slow breath, suppressing the irritation creeping up her spine.
"She’s smart," she murmured, her voice devoid of emotion. "She’s not naming outright, so if I respond directly, I’ll look guilty. But if I ignore it, people will assu the worst."
Mo Ran smirked, tilting the tablet in her direction. "She thinks she’s clever, but she’s only playing checkers." He tapped the screen. "We’ll let her bask in her pity party for now. There’s no need to respond imdiately."
Lixue glanced at him. "And what do you suggest?"
Mo Ran t her gaze, his confidence unwavering. "We don’t need to explain. We just have to prove."
Lixue frowned slightly but didn’t interrupt.
He continued, "Yu Jia thrives on public sympathy. If we engage in a back-and-forth, she’ll twist the narrative into a victim-versus-villain act. The best way to shut her down?" He leaned closer, voice dropping.
"Is to Dominate."
Lixue’s pulse quickened.
Mo Ran turned to Shen Yu. "Release a controlled leak."
Shen Yu nodded, already typing. "Details?"
"Start with sothing subtle. Let the dia ’discover’ that Y.L Mongolia is already in talks for luxury endorsents. Fra it as speculation, sothing that gets people talking without confirming anything."
Lixue raised a brow. "You’re using the sa thod as her?"
Mo Ran chuckled. "The difference is, we’re backing it up with action."
Lixue’s gaze flickered toward the screen again. The comnts were already flooding in under Yu Jia’s post.
— "Jia-jie, don’t be sad! We’ll always support you!"
— "I knew sothing was off about that new singer..."
— "Wait, is she talking about Y.L Mongolia? Are they related??"
— "How could a family mber do this to Yu Jia? Smh."
— "Not Dream Entertainnt ruining another artist’s career before it starts..."
Lixue let out a soft laugh—one devoid of amusent.
Mo Ran tapped the screen lightly, drawing her attention back to him. "Trust ."
She studied him for a mont, then exhaled. "Alright."
Mo Ran’s smirk widened. "Good..now then wifey."
Lixue rolled her eyes, but the corner of her lips twitched.
Shen Yu glanced between them, suppressing a sigh. He cleared his throat. "Sir, the car is waiting."
Mo Ran nodded, standing up. "Let’s go."
Lixue followed him out of the office, her mind already shifting gears.
If Yu Jia wanted a war, fine. But she had already started it.
"Why don’t eat at ho tonight? There will be paparazzi all over the place. So let’s hoy food.."
Lixue chuckled, she guessed Mo Ran wanted to take her out to celebrate but didn’t want to be disturbed by the dia.
"Anywhere is fine, I want to get out of this dress though... it’s restrictive..."
As they stepped out of Dream Entertainnt’s headquarters, the evening breeze brushed against Lixue’s skin, carrying with it the faint hum of city life. The streets were still lively, but the tinted windows of the sleek black car that awaited them promised a quiet retreat from the outside world.
Mo Ran opened the door for her, his movents casual yet undeniably smooth, and she slid inside without a word. He followed, settling beside her as the driver pulled away from the curb.
