On Monday, Bai Xiao returned to the dormitory. Today was a big day—there was a public lecture, and Dr. Xue had co to the dical College as a guest lecturer. The classroom was packed almost to capacity. Thankfully, Ma Yao and her group had reserved seats ahead of ti. Bai Xiao walked in, and Ma Yao imdiately waved her over. Bai Xiao apologized to people along the way and finally squeezed through to join them.

Sitting down, she took a deep breath. Dr. Xue’s lectures were sothing that students from countless academies would fight tooth and nail to attend.

Who would have guessed that Bai Xiao was here only because she had no choice? Dr. Xue had explicitly requested her presence; otherwise, she’d face serious consequences.

Dr. Xue was deed the top axeman in Surgery—practically a legend in Modu as the "First Blade." And it wasn’t just Modu! In the field of cardiovascular dicine, there was virtually no one in China who could surpass him. Of course, Dr. Xue’s students weren’t too shabby either—they were all renowned "axen" in their own right.

Who wouldn’t want to get on Dr. Xue’s good side? It was practically a guaranteed bright future.

If the people in this room knew that Dr. Xue had begged and pleaded to no avail—and that Bai Xiao unwaveringly rejected his invitation—they’d probably drown her in a flood of angry spit.

"Dr. Xue is here!"

"Dr. Xue is here!"

Soone suddenly shouted, and the classroom fell into absolute silence.

You could hear a pin drop.

Bai Xiao held her breath and stared at the doorway. Sure enough, Dr. Xue’s commanding figure appeared within everyone’s view.

Their breathing collectively grew rapid. Bai Xiao glanced at Ma Yao and her friends sitting beside her—they were all brimming with wide-eyed admiration, their expressions glowing.

Accompanying Dr. Xue were Vice Principal Zhao and Director Liu Hongmin from the Academic Affairs Office. Behind Dr. Xue were two foreigners with blond hair and striking blue eyes.

Of course, the two foreigners looked remarkably appealing. Their dark brown hair verged on jet black, and their strong jaws, alongside the sharp facial contours, had deep grooves around their mouths. Their tall stature, always envied by locals, wasn’t just noticeable—it was impressive. Though their age easily qualified them for the "uncle" label, they still had an undeniable air of charm that made them pleasing to the eye.

The foreigners hadn’t dressed formally for the occasion—instead, they wore simple white shirts with rolled-up sleeves, old jeans, and sneakers. Oddly enough, in this setting, their attire offered a strange harmony.

Bai Xiao drew a sharp breath.

Well, the shock of seeing familiar faces.

She actually knew these two people.

The real puzzle was why they were here.

"Hello students. Good day, everyone. Today, Dr. Xue and the two foreign guests are with us to deliver so exciting news. Now, let’s invite Dr. Xue to the stage to explain the purpose of today’s visit," Vice Principal Zhao said, clapping as he welcod Dr. Xue to speak.

"Hello students. Good day, everyone. I’m Dr. Xue. By now, everyone probably refers to simply as Dr. Xue, and many of you might not even recall my full na anymore. My purpose for being here today isn’t to give a lecture. Frankly, as an old man standing here and lecturing, I imagine most of you would find it boring and insufferable," Dr. Xue said jokingly, imdiately earning an outburst of laughter from the students.

"No way! Dr. Xue seems incredibly humorous," one bold student spoke up in response.

"Alright, I won’t waste everyone’s ti. The reason I’m here today is to share sothing important with all of you. These two foreign guests beside are mbers of the International dical Exchange Promotion Association. Now, many of you might not be familiar with this organization. But let tell you, this Association is akin to the Olympics. Whenever it’s held, the event sends significant ripples through the dical community—each occurrence is highly prestigious.

The International dical Exchange Promotion Association holds its conference every three years. The hosting nation is decided by a rotating vote among mber countries. This year, China has entered the bid as a candidate to host. These two guests are here to conduct an evaluation.

They’ve specifically chosen our school as the assessnt site, using this small microcosm to reflect the overall dical capabilities of our nation. So there’s no need to feel intimidated—they’ve co with goodwill. All we need to do is demonstrate the professional skills we possess," Dr. Xue’s words were like a stone cast into water, stirring countless ripples of excitent.

The students instantly started to panic.

After all, they were just students—not doctors, not even interns.

Most of them had little to no practical knowledge.

The idea of participating in such a high-stakes evaluation suddenly beca deeply terrifying.
