Rebirth: Love in the Apocalypse Chapter 100: Discovery

The base had two ’military’ forces – the police and the army.

Similar to before the apocalypse, the police were responsible for internal security including patrolling the base and catching criminals.

On the other hand, the army was responsible for dealing with external threats and their job included manning the base walls, collecting supplies, clearing the surrounding areas, and expanding the base periter amongst other tasks.

At this ti, it was naturally more appropriate to contact the police than the army.

"Has soone contacted the police?"

Before the base police arrived, more than three hundred spectators had already gathered outside the bungalow.

At this point, the incident could not be hidden and so base leaders had already been alard.

"What’s going on?" Xuanyuan Qi asked, his eyebrows creased in a frown.

"There is an incident in zone D." His aide said and quickly began explaining.

"Is it true?" Xuanyuan Qi asked in an incredulous voice.

After all, Fang Tianlu had always been kind and generous.

Thinking that such person was so vicious that he dared to capture children to rear a zombie, Xuanyuan Qi couldn’t help but shudder.

"The police have just arrived but the matter seems to be true."

Xuanyuan Qi sighed when he heard that.

"Send soone to investigate." He finally said.

"I understand." Xie Ya said and left to do as she was told.

The Fang family, Wei family, Qin family, and Chu family also received the news.

Subsequently, they sent people to investigate.

In addition to major families, so teams got the news and imdiately rushed there.

The one who spoke was Qin Wu.

"It’s unbelievable that such a thing happened in the base." She continued in an indignant voice.

"I..." Qin Wu started but suddenly stopped.

"The children are coming out." She said instead, causing the surrounding people to look at the doorway.

At this ti, eight children, led by a female police officer, ca out of the house.

"They don’t look well." Lin Rongrong said in a gloomy voice.

The eight children were of different ages but they were all below ten.

At a glance, they were wearing dirty rags and didn’t seem to have eaten or slept well for a long ti.

"Have you taken their statent?" A male officer asked, looking at the female.

"I have." The female nodded and sighed.

She had seen many absurd and cruel things since the apocalypse began.

However, after encountering this incident, she realised that humans were capable of more evil than she gave them credit for.

’That bastard Fang Tianlu doesn’t deserve to live.’ She thought but didn’t dare to say it out loud.

After all, she was a law officer and the Fang family was a prominent clan.

Shaking her head to clear the errant thoughts, the female officer continued to report.

"They were asleep when everything happened. They didn’t see or hear anything."

Hearing this, the male police officer narrowed his eyes and looked at the children.

However, the female shook her head, walked to her colleague and leaned to whisper in his ear.

"They have already been carefully interrogated. They don’t know anything including how they were captured from their hos. They only know that one of them disappears every day." She said and quickly continued.

"They have also identified so of the corpses as the people who imprisoned them and took care of their daily needs."
