Chapter 1063: Chapter 1063: Trust

Bai Sasa, still in a daze, stared at Li Wenli for quite a while before curling her lips into a smile.

The little girl in front of him indeed shared so resemblance to the eldest young lady—they were sisters, after all. Though Bai Sasa carried a softness the eldest young lady didn’t possess, they were unmistakably family.

Still startled, Li Wenli suddenly felt Bai Sasa, acting all grown-up, pat his head.

“Don’t worry. We really like Brother Wenli, and we won’t make things hard for you.”

“…” Li Wenli.

He had intended to comfort this silly child, but never had he thought this little imp would outmaneuver him. Truly…

Li Wenli stood up silently. “Thank you, I guess.”

“You’re welco.” Bai Sasa, oblivious to his sarcastic tone, grinned innocently.

Not wanting to interrupt her reading any longer, Li Wenli set up a small stool for Bai Sasa and promptly went back to his task of serving porridge.

Soon, everyone gathered around the dining table for breakfast, and Sasa excitedly shared the contents of the Fool’s letter with everyone.

“The Fool said he’ll try to find ti to visit us during the Lunar New Year.”

“Really? Fool Brother said that?” Bai Lingyu’s eyes sparkled with joy.

“The Fool is really coming back for New Year?” Xiao Chan was elated too.

The group reminisced about their unforgettable days in Dai County, when they all gathered daily to practice their calligraphy. The Fool was always the first to finish writing his characters and claim a snack reward, leaving a deep impression on everyone.

Bai Sasa nodded in affirmation, and the crowd erupted in cheers.

One person talked about preparing a room for him, another about setting aside so toys, and yet another proposed taking him along to search for snow lotuses.

In any case, everyone was overjoyed by the Fool’s letter.

Bai Junjun, watching the lively discussions, didn’t interrupt, even though she doubted the Fool would be able to co during the winter.

After all, the world was in chaos now. The Fifth Prince had successfully taken the Imperial Capital. Next, it would either be Yuwen Jun vying for the throne, or the Fifth Prince purging those who opposed him. Naturally, the Fool would find himself among those surrounded.

For the Fool to simply hold his position in the upcoming turmoil would be fortunate enough. It was unreasonable to expect he’d have the chance to break away and co celebrate the New Year.

Brought to mind by Sasa’s reminder, Bai Junjun suddenly rembered she still had sothing to hand over. From her bosom, she retrieved two letters from the La Man Uncle.

“These are letters La Man Uncle asked to give to you.”

“Who?” Mr. Shan Hai and Lady Lin both looked bewildered.

They didn’t know any la or blind n.

“Just take a look, and you’ll understand.” Bai Junjun winked at the two of them.

Still puzzled, Mr. Shan Hai and Lady Lin opened the letters. Very quickly, their expressions turned to shock. Mr. Shan Hai was so agitated his hands started trembling, and Lady Lin couldn’t suppress her emotions at all—tears stread down her face.

Seeing the two of them suddenly break into uncontrollable sobs, everyone turned toward Bai Junjun, hoping for answers.

But Bai Junjun and Li Wenli, who knew the truth, just calmly continued drinking porridge and eating spicy minced at.

“…” The crowd.

After so ti, Lady Lin finally stopped crying and said, “Junjun, Fox, thank you so much. We Mohists truly owe you a great debt!”

“???” Everyone else was still in the dark.

At that mont, Bai Junjun and Li Wenli finally waved their hands nonchalantly. “This is the La Man Uncle and the Fool’s destiny. Even without us, fate would have brought them together.”

“That may be true, but you two were the catalysts for it all.”
