Well, now both of them have turned into soaked chickens.

Li Wenli curved his lips slightly, his hands once again wrapping around Bai Junjun’s waist.

"I’ve recently read a rather nice poem, care for so poetic appraisal, Miss Bai? ’On the southern mountain, one osmanthus tree, upon it a pair of mandarin ducks. For a thousand years, they intertwine necks, passionate love never forgotten.’

Li Wenli spoke as he lowered his head and bit her lips lightly.

At midnight, under the sparse stars and moon, only the sound of the water stirred in waves, echoing rhythmically.

Li Wenli, having gained the upper hand, was just about to unite with Miss Bai like the mandarin ducks when suddenly, a harrowing wail echoed from next door.

The two were instantly stunned, and at that mont, their clothes were only partly removed and in complete disarray — caught in the throes of passion. Yet, the piercing wail interrupted their mont.

Upon closer listening, the voice resembled Ah Dao’s sowhat.

Even though Li Wenli was reluctant, he had no choice but to pause for now. He gently lifted Miss Bai out of the water.

Just monts ago, fueled by the montum, Li Wenli could charge forward with abandon. But now, as he cald down, a rare trace of embarrassnt erged on his face.

Bai Junjun was about to say sothing, when Ah Dao’s stifled, agonizing groans sounded again.

The pair wasted no ti, hastily gathering their clothes and rushing outside.

Ah Dao’s cries weren’t particularly loud but, given their sharp senses, they rang exceptionally clear. When they stepped out, the surroundings remained eerily still.

It was evident that everyone else was still sunk deep in their dreams.

Bai Junjun and Li Wenli exchanged a glance, before entering the room.

Inside, Ah Dao was no longer on the bed; instead, he was rolling around on the floor.

His entire body appeared as if engulfed by flas, tortured and restless. As he noticed two figures abruptly entering the room, the next second he fell into a wet and cool embrace.

Ah Dao couldn’t resist clutching the person’s waist tightly and instinctively sought upward, only for Li Wenli to ruthlessly push his face aside with an expression of disgust.

"I’m not into this kind of thing."

"..." Bai Junjun.

She silently lifted Ah Dao’s wrist to examine him, but Ah Dao, gradually losing consciousness, was caught between Li Wenli shoving his face away and Bai Junjun grabbing his wrist. Feeling his freedom stripped away, he abruptly went berserk and aid to kick them both aside.

But this wasn’t sothing he could just shake off on a whim.

Despite Ah Dao being in a frenzied state, neither Li Wenli nor Bai Junjun were ones to be trifled with. Controlling him was easy for the duo.

Of course, the Fox was concerned that the berserk Ah Dao might accidentally take advantage of Miss Bai, so he had no choice but to sacrifice himself, tightly restraining him.

Bai Junjun closed her eyes and used her Special Ability to scan Ah Dao’s body, only to discover certain elents within him were raging wildly, causing him to feel burning hot and lose control of himself.

Having grasped the situation, Bai Junjun opened her eyes.

"How is it? Why is Ah Dao suddenly like this?" Li Wenli asked, his expression serious.

"It’s the aftereffects of the poison from last ti."

"?" Li Wenli questioned, confused.

Bai Junjun couldn’t help but fold her hands, genuinely looking at him, "Did I not tell you?"

"?" Li Wenli still appeared clueless.

Bai Junjun began to reflect; had she truly forgotten to inform him before? But the matter between Ah Dao and Wu Nuan was clearly orchestrated by Li Wenli, so she’d assud the Fox was aware of everything.

Thinking it through carefully, it seed that after the Fox went mad and later woke up, they had been too preoccupied with reclamation efforts—it might truly have slipped her mind.

Bai Junjun quickly explained the potential lingering risks from the poison Ah Dao was afflicted with before.

"You can’t save him?" Li Wenli asked, surprised.

If Miss Bai couldn’t save him, didn’t that an Ah Dao was beyond salvation?

Li Wenli cast a complicated glance at the Ah Dao in his arms.

"How about we send him to Wu Nuan’s room instead?"
