Chapter 87: Chapter 87 Departure
As night fell, the whole family entered the Space. They were setting out tomorrow, and although they didn’t know what might happen on the road, they were not worried. Instead, they were looking forward to the safe haven in S City that Su Jin had spoken of. Su Jin had ntioned that the base in S City was still under construction, which ant if they went now, they could secure a favorable position for themselves.
“Su Jin, is it too late for us to head there now?” Lin Xiuyuan asked while eating a stead bun.
“No, it’s not too late. That place is still untouched by others, and it probably won’t catch people’s attention until a month or two later.”
Su Jin was quite certain about this. They indeed could have gone there before the Apocalypse, or even in the early post-apocalyptic period, but firstly, before the Apocalypse there were people guarding the place, so even if their whole family went, they wouldn’t have been able to get in. Secondly, Lu Hao’s friends were still here, so bringing them along would have been hard to explain.
The early post-apocalyptic period was also an excellent ti to strengthen the family’s abilities, which is why she decided to wait until now.

Nie Qing had recently taken the ti to watch lots of TV series in the Space, discovering that each show had its own accompanying variety show, which featured the actors. Lu Guanhai, having nothing better to do, watched with him and, over ti, the two found more and more in common to talk about.
Aunt Lin Tianzhen and Aunt Huang Yunxiang were discussing the usage of the Water Elent Ability. Su Jin had given the Water Elent Crystal Core she obtained that day to Huang Yunxiang, who had awakened her Water Elent Ability first. Huang Yunxiang was so grateful she didn’t know how to express her feelings; Su Jin was even more of a family to her than her relatives.
Lin Tianzhen certainly didn’t mind, after all, she had awakened her Water Elent Ability using a Five Elents Pill and felt it was better to consolidate her foundation for the ti being.
They both found that the Water Elent had relatively weaker attack power in the early stage, but when combined with Lin Xiuyuan’s Ice Elent and Su Xiangzhe’s Thunder Elent, its effectiveness increased drastically, especially Su Xiangzhe’s Thunder Elent, which increased dramatically in power upon contact with water.
Su Jin watched contentedly as each mber of her family shared their experiences. Although Mao Zhihang had not yet awakened his Special Ability, he listened attentively, often providing useful suggestions.
Now, Mao Qiqi was practically stuck to Liao Yifan, so they hadn’t entered the Space yet, but the family wasn’t worried at all. After all, despite her young age, Mao Qiqi had been sworn to secrecy about the Space, so they weren’t concerned she’d let sothing slip.
After Su Jin stepped out of the Space, she stood on the balcony, looking at the house. If possible, she truly wished she could take this house with her.
The second-floor balcony was where she often watched the stars on sumr nights.
The toon tree in the yard had grown so tall without her noticing.
Grandma’s little garden with the loofah vines still growing.
And that rusty gate which had been peeling paint for years…
Lost in thought, she was embraced from behind by a familiar set of arms.
“What are you thinking about?” Lu Hao’s deep voice sounded from behind her.
“Just taking one last look at the house I’ve lived in since childhood, since we might never see it again.”
“Yeah, I’ll watch with you.”
Lu Hao held Su Jin in silence, and they quietly enjoyed their last night in their hotown together.

The next day, under the surprised, envious, or jealous eyes of the neighbors, the Lin family left the alley in three brand-new cars.
Why did the Lin family leave? Damn it, who’s going to clear out the Zombies for them now?!
They left so soon? They had hoped to make more connections and cling to their coattails in the future!
I wonder if they’ll ever co back. They might return since they didn’t take any luggage.
However, in a couple of days, people would discover that the Lin family’s house was completely empty. Even the furniture, kitchenware, and appliances had been moved out.

Su Xiangi and her group ground their teeth in anger as they stared at the empty house. How could all those supplies just disappear?!
After being humiliated by the Lin family last ti, Su Xiangi’s resentnt intensified. That Lu Hao even had the audacity to burn their clothes, making it impossible for her to hold her head up high in front of the younger generation again.
And now that her son Luo Hui had awakened his Earth Elent Ability, they had planned to return for revenge only to find the house abandoned. And it was clear the family was not coming back.
Where on earth did they go?!
But Su Jin and the others didn’t know any of this. And even if they did know, they would have just laughed it off. If Su Xiangi had even a slight notion of familial affection, things wouldn’t have gotten this bad. But perhaps, this was just fate!
