Chapter 283: Chapter 283 Dual-Elent Zombie
The minibus slowly started and gradually made its way to the base’s gate.
In the post-apocalypse, many teams would pick up abandoned vehicles by the roadside for use, and larger teams often chose minibuses, so the people at the base only assud that it was a larger team heading out for a mission and didn’t pay any particular attention to this vehicle.
Yet the atmosphere inside the minibus was sowhat eerie; even the usually talkative Lin Xiuyuan and Nie Qing and a few others were sitting quietly in their seats.
Su Jin found it a bit funny, guessing that everyone was likely too nervous to crack jokes because the base leader was present.
Liang Jiuhui realized this as well and took the initiative to start a conversation with Su Xiangzhe, who was sitting by the aisle.
Su Xiangzhe felt a bit ashad of himself; his thunder elent ability had only reached Level Two, while Liang Jiuhui’s was already at Level Three Thunder Elent. Considering he also had the benefits of the Marrow Cleansing Pill and the spiritual power from his space elent, he was still trailing far behind others. It seed that when it ca to special abilities, talent and diligence were the most important factors after all.
...
Mao Qiqi, while keeping an eye on her mini-map, glanced out the window from ti to ti. In her arms was Local Tyrant Gold, who had insisted on coming along that morning, and was seriously observing the scenery outside. They had never traveled this road before, and Su Jin couldn’t help wondering just how much that little monkey could rember since it always seed to recall so many routes.
“Sister Xiao Jin, the road ahead is blocked by sothing, it would be best to detour to the right,”
Mao Qiqi whispered to Su Jin, who was sitting beside her.
Su Jin nodded and relayed the situation to Liang Jiuhui. Since the driver in front wasn’t one of her people, it would be better for Liang Jiuhui to speak up.
Upon hearing Liang Jiuhui’s instruction, the driver, Xiao Liu, was a little surprised but still re-routed the minibus to the right as suggested.
“The little girl is amazing; I didn’t sense anything at all,” Sheng Jing said with a tone full of admiration.
Mao Qiqi was pleasantly surprised when she learned from Su Jin that Sheng Jing was the new ntal elent ability user.
“Sister has just awakened; you can do it too in the future,” Mao Qiqi said sweetly.
“Thank you, little senior,”
Sheng Jing joked.
Liang Jiuhui was reassured but also sowhat surprised; could ntal elent ability users not only sense danger but also scout the path ahead? Otherwise, how could a child know to take the road on the right and that the original path was blocked?
Thus, in Liang Jiuhui’s eyes, Mao Qiqi instantly beca akin to a little satellite.
The road to the Traditional and Western dicine Hospital wasn’t easy to navigate. Although the driver, Xiao Liu, tried to avoid zombie-infested areas and impassable roads as Mao Qiqi suggested, the silent minibus still attracted the attention of nurous zombies.
The passengers, including Su Jin, appeared unfazed, as if such scenes were all too familiar.
However, Su Xiangzhe couldn’t help worrying whether the minibus could withstand the attacks from the mutated zombies outside, since it was, after all, just a minibus.
“Don’t worry, I’ve had a tal elent ability user reinforce the vehicle body, even the windows have been replaced with bulletproof glass,” Liang Jiuhui said.
“Uncle Liang, is the roof reinforced as well?” Mao Qiqi asked.
The roof?
“Not yet…” Liang Jiuhui thought for a mont and then replied.
Sheng Jing was also puzzled; she couldn’t sense any zombies on top or any feeling of sothing about to fall on it.
“There’s a zombie flying in our direction, probably a wind elent zombie,”
Qiqi pointed in the direction behind them and expressed her concern that, given the height of the wind elent zombie, it could potentially land on the roof of the minibus.
Zombies? Flying over?
Xu Shi and the others all looked back, but apart from so zombies running on the ground, they couldn’t see the Wind Elent Zombie the little girl had ntioned.
“Qiqi, how many minutes left?” Su Jin asked without doubt.
“Within 3 minutes.”
Su Jin nodded her head and said to Liang Jiuhui, “I suggest we’d better stop temporarily for now.”
Lu Hao agreed too, it was better to take the initiative to wait rather than to be passively attacked.
Liang Jiuhui glanced at the two of them and decisively gave the order, “Xiao Liu, stop the car at the gas station ahead.”
“Yes!”
The minibus drove over several zombies and approached the gas station up ahead.
Without the ti to observe the abandoned gas station, Su Jin, Lu Hao, and their group quickly got off the bus as soon as it stopped.
Watching the group of people outside already fighting the surrounding encroaching zombies, Liang Jiuhui and the others were stunned for a mont, then hurriedly joined in.
While everyone else was holding off the nearby zombies, Su Jin and Lu Hao had already quickly moved a distance away because they had seen a small black dot on the distant horizon, rapidly flying towards the gas station!
“How did it find us from such a distance?”
Lu Hao found it too strange, even a Wind Elent Mutated Zombie wouldn’t be able to fly from so far away. Given its current speed, it must have flown from a distance of several kiloters.
“It’s possible that it’s a Dual-Elent Mutated Zombie.”
Su Jin also thought of this possibility, just as Qiqi could sense its presence from several kiloters away, it could also sense their presence.
“Wind Elent and ntal Elent?” Lu Hao asked in surprise.
Su Jin nodded, Dual-Elent Ability Users existed, and Dual-Elent Zombies were even more common than Dual-Elent Ability Users.
So research from the previous world had shown that zombies adapted to Special Abilities better than humans, and if a person with insufficient resistance awakened to a Dual-Elent Ability, they might directly turn into a zombie.
“Everyone be careful, this zombie might be a Wind Elent and ntal Elent Zombie, be sure to defend yourselves!” Su Jin shouted to the group of people not far away.
!!!
Dual-Elent Zombie?
At that mont, the zombie, amidst everyone’s shock, swiftly charged toward Su Jin and Lu Hao’s position!
Su Jin and Lu Hao each dodged to the sides, while the zombie, due to its excessively fast descent, actually scraped a long mark on the cent ground before coming to a stop.
The crowd finally got a clear view of the zombie.
The hair on its head had fallen out, its skin was the grey-white color typical of Mutated Zombies, and the clothing on its body seed to be the factory uniform of so company’s employee. It was so sared with dark blood and various unidentifiable filth that its original appearance was indiscernible. Its nails were black and overgrown; Su Jin knew such nails were hard and sharp, capable of easily piercing anyone’s skull.
Roar!
Although the Mutated Zombie had no eyeballs, Su Jin felt it was staring intently at her and Lu Hao. It waved its hand and sent a white Wind Blade toward Lu Hao.
Lu Hao narrowly dodged the Wind Blade that hit the iron fence at the entrance of the gas station. That entire row of iron fencing was cleanly sliced through by the Wind Blade!
This was actually a Level Five Mutated Zombie!
