Chapter 49: Chapter 49: What Ti to Get Up Chapter 49: Chapter 49: What Ti to Get Up i ngchen certainly knew that when it ca to Fan Tianyu’s laziness, he had no objections, but he also felt that Brother Tianyu was just too lazy, and thus said, “Brother Tianyu gets up after 10 in the morning.”
What?
This response shocked not only Fan Tianhua but also i ngzhen, though the reasons for their shock differed. Fan Tianhua thought, if you co to soone’s house to take care of their children and the children wake up early, you should be embarrassed sleeping in till whatever ti you please. “What do you do after Sister goes to school? Are you on your own?”
“I get up, wash up, eat breakfast, watch TV, and after Brother Tianyu gets up, he eats and then washes the dishes. When Sister cos back, we eat lunch directly.”
i ngchen felt his schedule was quite good, and it matched exactly the titable i ngzhen had arranged for him at ho, so he knew what to do at what ti and it didn’t matter too much whether soone was watching him.
i ngzhen was shocked that Fan Tianyu got up after 10, took his ti washing up and having breakfast that surely must have dragged on past 11 o’clock. That ant she would return ho not long after the dishes were washed and then they would eat lunch right away. The key point was that he could still eat with such a short interval between als, “He’s really sothing, getting up at that ti, he might as well rge the two als into one.” What a waste of food.
And indeed, sleeping in that late, there was no need for two als, but since the involved party hadn’t said anything, she had no idea, so they continued with two als as usual.
Fan Tianhua could no longer keep her composure, and since she was not one to hold back her feelings even without this issue, she certainly wouldn’t let Fan Tianyu sleep in till after 10. She imdiately ran upstairs and started causing a ruckus outside Fan Tianyu’s bedroom door.
Fan Tianyu, who had a wealth of experience in confrontations, knew that Fan Tianhua would surely co to hassle him, and so he cleverly locked his bedroom door before going to sleep and smugly thought that she would definitely not be able to disturb his slumber.
However, things didn’t go as he had anticipated. The door was indeed locked, and Fan Tianhua, initially annoyed that she couldn’t enter the room, imdiately burst into laughter upon seeing the key hanging from the door lock, “Is this guy an idiot?”
Quite the idiot, indeed. Because there were children in the house, all the doors in i ngzhen’s house had their respective keys inserted in the locks to prevent i ngchen from playfully locking himself in a room. Having a key readily available was important for quickly opening the door. However, i ngchen was not mischievous, so the key had never really been used. Even though it was hanging there, nobody bothered to take it down, and this ti it just happened to co in handy for Fan Tianyu.
Fan Tianhua unlocked the door, pushed it open, and gave the blissfully sleeping Fan Tianyu a hard beating, “You keep sleeping, just keep sleeping. How old are you, still sleeping in like that?”
Fan Tianyu hadn’t expected Fan Tianhua to barge in like that and, being startled awake, jerked violently. It only took him a mont of being stunned before he got his wits about him and imdiately started to fight back against Fan Tianhua. The siblings brawled fiercely. “The heck, how did you get in here? Get out!”
“Get out my foot. You show how to get out. Look at the ti – it’s already past 8 and you’re still sleeping. Do you have no sha? Surely you don’t sleep in this late every day, do you? Zhenzhen goes to school just after 7, and you leave Chenchen alone all this ti?” Fan Tianhua retorted unabashedly.
Fan Tianyu felt a twinge of guilt but obviously couldn’t admit it outright, deflecting in irritation, “I don’t.”
“The nerve of you, claiming you don’t! Do you think I ca to hit you without asking first? Sleeping past 10, you do nothing all day long at ho – how could you possibly be so sleepy? You really take the cake.”
The siblings finished their verbal spat and resud their fierce battle, which finally paused at i ngzhen’s call of ‘ti for breakfast,’ leading to an imdiate ceasefire.
“Stop, we’ll continue fighting later.”
“Fine, we fight later then. As if I’m afraid of you.”
The two, breathing heavily with sweat on their brow, went downstairs. Although their physical fight had stopped, the murderous glare in their eyes hadn’t subsided one bit, nor had their mouths stopped moving.
Sitting opposite each other, their gazes clashed, the air between them crackling with electricity and the occasional spark flying.
After digging into her egg and taking a bite, Fan Tianhua asked furiously, “What ti do you get up every day?”
Fan Tianyu, adamant about not admitting to his daily lie-ins, stated firmly, “Around this ti.” After finishing his statent, he took a sip of congee and stuffed an egg into his mouth.
Fan Tianhua snorted in disbelief, “Who are you trying to fool? It’s past 8 now, can you really get up at this hour?” She finished by shoving the rest of her egg into her mouth, found the yolk too dry, and followed with a sip of congee, then dunked a piece of pancake into it.
Fan Tianyu, frowning, advised, “It’s not nice to soak the pancake in the congee. Just eat it as it is. And what’s wrong with getting up after 8? That’s when I used to get up for work.”
Heeding his advice, Fan Tianhua fished out the pancake from the congee, took a bite, and indeed discovered it wasn’t as tasty as Fan Tianyu had said. But she didn’t hold back her retort, “Indeed, it isn’t good. But who cares about your work tardiness – I can get perfect attendance every month. Can you?”
Fan Tianhua was smug, while Fan Tianyu dug out a salted duck egg and mixed it into his congee. After taking a large sip from his bowl and nodding in satisfaction, he countered, “Just perfect attendance, huh? An extra 200 yuan a month for perfect attendance – what difference does it make if I get it or not? My salary is higher than yours even without it.”
She couldn’t argue with that. Seeing how Fan Tianyu enjoyed his salted duck egg mixed with congee, Fan Tianhua asked, “Does it really taste good like that? And what’s all this about perfect attendance? The issue is what ti you get up in the morning. You’re here to take care of the kids, not to have a good night’s sleep.”
“It’s really good – you can tell just by seeing how Zhenzhen and Chenchen also mix it and eat it this way. And you’re the one who brought up perfect attendance. It’s you who’s dragging the conversation to what ti I wake up. Why are you fussing about so many things so early in the morning?”
Fan Tianyu was getting impatient, and after downing the last spoonful of congee, he went to the kitchen to get another bowl.
Not to be outdone, Fan Tianhua observed that the i siblings also ate in the sa manner and quickly finished her own bowl of congee before heading off to the kitchen for a second bowl. She then scooped a salted duck egg into her congee and only then continued, “Stop beating around the bush. We’re talking about what ti you get up in the morning. Swear you’ll never marry if you’re lying now.”
Fan Tianyu’s hand, holding the duck egg, stopped cold, “I’ll swear nothing! Is this how you treat your brother? Really want to see our Fan Family end its line? Why are you so venomous?”
