A President’s wife as a goddaughter for free, if it were him, he’d wake up laughing even in his sleep!
Thinking of this, Lai Wenyan’s forehead veins throbbed.
Tang Li finished filming by evening and found Lai Wenyan’s car, that Suburban, parked outside the set. Her footsteps paused, and the driver, Old Liang, had already opened the car door and got out.
Without Tang Li needing to approach, Old Liang quickly ran over and respectfully said, "Miss, the Councilman asked to take you ho."
"Asking to go ho now, what’s the matter?"
Old Liang quickly explained, "The Councilman thinks it’s hot, and after you’re done filming, it would be better to go ho early than stay outside."
Tang Li looked at her watch and then said, "I’m eting friends tonight. You can go back first, tell my uncle I’ll go ho after dinner."
"Wherever Miss plans to go, I can take you there first."
Old Liang’s diligence made Tang Li feel what it ans to turn the tables.
Even though she hadn’t explicitly agreed to the marriage, in Lai Wenyan’s eyes, there was no difference.
After all, who wouldn’t want to be the First Lady unless they’re an idiot?
Tang Li didn’t let Old Liang take her; she had a nanny car. She didn’t want to entangle with the Lai Family just for a birthday dinner, so she dismissed Old Liang and got into her own car.
Yu Sui was already waiting in the nanny car.
When Tang Li got in, she showed her the cellphone.
Tang Li’s birthday was approaching, and so fans had drawn several sketches of her. Including her fan club, they planned to visit the set, but since Tang Li had requested leave for tomorrow, the visit would have to be postponed.
At 8 PM, dinner ended.
Tang Li received gifts from Wu Xuehan and Yu Sui.
Wu Xuehan gave her a handmade item, a small cute bamboo basket bag she had woven following a tutorial, and Yu Sui gifted Tang Li a pair of GUCCI white sneakers.
Returning to the Lai Family, Tang Li found the Lai Family people watching TV in the living room.
Lai Wenyan waved her over to sit.
"I rember that tomorrow is Ah Li’s birthday, right."
Besides Lai Wenyan, the first to speak was Ouyang Qian.
She smiled lightly, "Let’s have Aunt Wu prepare a good al and order a cake. We’ll celebrate Ah Li’s birthday at ho."
Tang Li smiled wryly, "I’m afraid that won’t do; I’ve already made plans with soone."
"Lunchti works too," Ouyang Qian added, "Let the driver pick you up at the set, having a al won’t take too long."
Tang Li was noncommittal about this.
Suddenly, Ouyang Qian got up, sat next to Tang Li, and took her hand, "Your eldest sister ssed up, and this aunt hasn’t sincerely apologized yet. Your eldest sister has been out of sorts since the New Year, doing perplexing things. And Yuanyuan, she acts without much sense of proportion. I apologize on her behalf too."
Saying this, Ouyang Qian turned to her daughter, "Your second sister is back. Didn’t you say you wanted to apologize to her? Why haven’t you co over yet?"
Lai Yuaner clenched her hands tight, her nails digging painfully into her palms.
However, rembering her mother’s advice, she had no choice but to walk over.
The current Tang Li is not soone they can easily offend anymore.
As her mother said, if the elder sister wants to leave the sanatorium, they must learn to yield to Tang Li.
Tang Li didn’t care much for such apologies, and after not sitting for long, she stood up, "I’ll go upstairs to shower first."
However, while she was still showering, a servant knocked on the door.
The knocking was sowhat urgent.
She had just turned off the shower when she heard the servant’s voice, "Miss, there are guests at ho, and the Councilman asked you to quickly get dressed and co downstairs!"
A few minutes later, Tang Li stopped at the turn of the staircase.
Because she saw Song Baiyan.
