Chapter 311: Chapter 311: What Are You, Neither Man nor Woman!
Stepping onto the second floor of the temporarily constructed container house, Tang Li stopped at the eting room door upon recognizing who was inside. Without a word, she turned to leave.
“It seems the young lady isn’t too keen on seeing ,” Jiang Yuan’s voice ca from behind her.
Tang Li turned back around.
Lai Wenyan’s assistant, Jiang Yuan had already risen from his chair. He straightened his suit, buttoned up the front, and then continued, “The young lady ca all the way here from the Capital, and the Councilman is quite worried. He is in a nearby town and had co specially to pick you up.”
At those words, Tang Li’s gaze shifted to Jiang Yuan: “Lai Wenyan is here?”
“…” Hearing Tang Li directly address her father by na, Jiang Yuan frowned slightly in disapproval but, having been previously silenced by Tang Li, he did not want to embarrass himself again and instead inford her succinctly: “The Councilman’s plane arrived at noon. He is currently at the hotel waiting for the young lady.”
“I have nothing to talk about with him.”

“Are you threatening ?” Tang Li looked at Jiang Yuan, her gaze carrying a hint of interest.
“I wouldn’t dare.”
Jiang Yuan’s expression remained as usual: “I’m rely following orders. Please don’t make it hard for . If I don’t bring the young lady over, I can’t explain myself to the Councilman.”
“If the young lady cooperates, certain things will naturally not happen.”
Lai Wenyan didn’t have n forcibly bring her away; instead, he sent his own assistant personally – in the end, he still didn’t want anyone to know he had an illegitimate daughter of such significance.
Tang Li could guess most of Lai Wenyan’s thoughts.
Having Ascended through improper ways years ago and lived comfortably since, he suddenly found out he had a daughter with soone he had taken advantage of. Hence, he began to constantly worry, afraid that he might carelessly lose his current status.
With that thought, Tang Li’s lips curled into a smile: “Fine. Since he has co all this way to see , as his daughter, I must certainly go to et my father.”
Hearing this, the corners of Jiang Yuan’s eyes twitched slightly.
He saw the sarcasm on Tang Li’s face and suppressed the discomfort in his heart: “Since that’s the case, please co with now, young lady.”
An hour later, the sedan stopped at the entrance of a hotel in the town.
Tang Li followed Jiang Yuan upstairs.
The door was knocked, and Lai Wenyan himself opened it.
His complexion wasn’t good.
Life at the Mihesha River was backward, and the hotel facilities and services left much to be desired. Along the way, Tang Li could hear laughter and rowdy noises, indicating the poor sound insulation of the place.
The dignified Councilman stooping to stay here was naturally not going to be in a good mood.
“Councilman, the young lady has arrived,” Jiang Yuan announced respectfully.
Tang Li stood with her hands in her coat pockets, her deanor sowhat casual. Her dark short hair caught Lai Wenyan’s eye, causing him a mont of surprise. Then, finding it extrely jarring, he scolded on the spot: “Looking neither male nor female, what sort of appearance is that! I see coming back here has turned you into no different from those riffraff outside!”
“Assistant Jiang didn’t tell that my father ca all this way just to vent his anger out on ,” Tang Li said, her eyes casting a mocking glance at Jiang Yuan.
She then turned to Lai Wenyan, “If you’re finished scolding, I’ll be leaving.”
