This is unusual, sothing must have happened.

Jiang Kechu quickened his pace, only to be stopped after two steps by Chief of Staff Ma and his wife.

In the afternoon, Jiang Kechu took his team to the training ground for training. There was no telephone there, so naturally, he was unaware of what had happened in the family residential area.

Chief of Staff Ma’s expression was sowhat unnatural, and he stamred: "Captain Jiang, that... I’m not one to gossip, but I think it’s a big deal that you should know about first. For such big matters, a man should take charge."

Wang Hongi, standing next to Chief Ma, had bright eyes, occasionally glancing at Jiang Kechu’s stern face.

He’s really handso!

Wang Hongi thought that Jiang Kechu was even more handso than that national heartthrob on TV. Unfortunately, she rarely had the chance to interact with Jiang Kechu, as Wan Chu’er seldom invited neighbors over.

This rare opportunity made her want to take a good look at Jiang Kechu. She didn’t think further than that; she just felt that when beauty presents itself, one should seize the chance to appreciate it more.

Jiang Kechu kept his composure, a flicker of coldness in his eyes, and said, "What is it, just say it."

"My spouse told that this afternoon, a group from Huangjia Gully ca to the residential area. It seems they had an argunt with your sister-in-law and in front of many people, she offered to compensate Huangjia Gully with two hundred thousand," said Chief Ma, his words vague and to the point, without embellishing.

But his wife was not like that; as soon as her husband finished speaking, Wang Hongi imdiately added:

"Not only that, but your sister-in-law also brought back a child about ten years old from Huangjia Gully. The child is still in the infirmary, said to have gotten his arm crushed by your son Legendary.

Legend is just a kid, too young to understand, and it’s easy for accidents to happen, and adults have to watch closely," implying Wan Chu’er was negligent.

"Captain Jiang, your sister-in-law is young. You should go back and reason with her. Two hundred thousand, just like that, promised away," Wang Hongi said with seeming concern.

Chief Ma frowned, tugged at his wife, signaling her not to ddle.

However, Jiang Kechu indifferently said, "In our family, my wife is in charge, and I support whatever she loves doing."

Wang Hongi choked, her face growing sowhat flushed.

Jiang Kechu nodded to Chief Ma and then walked away.

Behind him, Wang Hongi angerly chided her husband: "Look at Captain Jiang, how protective he is of his woman, even letting Wan Chu’er be in charge. Look at you, sending half your salary back ho every month, and not even letting manage the rest."

She was just jealous, jealous of how well Jiang Kechu treated Wan Chu’er.

Chief Ma, dark-faced, muttered lowly, "Am I shorting you food or drink? Don’t I give you spending money every month?" After speaking, he walked ho, ignoring Wang Hongi.

Furious, Wang Hongi felt a pain in her liver, wondering how she ended up with such a man who was unremarkable in appearance and stingy with money, not knowing how to cherish his wife.

When Chief Ma and his wife were talking with Jiang Kechu earlier, many residents were all ears. Soon the entire courtyard knew that in Captain Jiang’s house, Wan Chu’er was in charge, and that Captain Jiang was very obedient to Wan Chu’er’s decisions.

Thus, the residents’ admiration for Wan Chu’er soared even higher.

Once Jiang Kechu entered his ho, he slled the delicious food from the kitchen and saw Wan Chu’er busily cooking, his lips curved into a smile.

Then he turned his gaze to his children sitting on the couch watching TV, "Legend, Hunter, daddy’s back."

Hearing their father’s voice, Legend and Hunter both turned their heads. Legend excitedly climbed off the couch and rushed toward his dad, while Hunter silently sighed, feeling that being a man was indeed a somber affair.

"Daddy, I miss you so much." Chuanqi, though young, had a way with sweet words.

Once Chuanqi heard Daddy say this to Mommy, he quickly picked up the phrase "I miss you" and would say it every day when he saw Daddy co ho, just to please his dad.

Sure enough, hearing his daughter’s soft voice, Jiang Kechu imdiately picked Chuanqi up and spun her around, saying, "Daddy’s good baby," making Chuanqi giggle non-stop.

Hearing the commotion, Wan Chu’er peeked her head out from the kitchen.

"Dinner will be ready soon, go wash your hands first."

"Okay." Jiang Kechu glanced at Wan Chu’er, seeing no signs of displeasure, he knew that what she had just heard hadn’t bothered her.

He took his son and daughter to the bathroom to wash their hands and then went to the kitchen to help Wan Chu’er serve the food.

Just as Chuanqi was about to eat, she suddenly rembered Xiao Huaili from the dical office and asked, "Mommy, when are we going to bring food to Big Brother?"

While serving food to the two kids, Wan Chu’er replied, "Big Brother will only wake up in the evening. Let’s eat first, and then we’ll go see him."

Hunter and Chuanqi then focused on eating their al.

Jiang Kechu asked, "What happened? Do I need to step in?"

"No need, it’s mostly settled." Wan Chu’er smiled and recounted the afternoon’s events to Jiang Kechu.

After thinking it over, Jiang Kechu still said, "I’ll accompany you to Huangjia Gully this weekend."

n in the Northwest have strong machismo, to prevent them from disregarding Wan Chu’er, it would be better for him to make a strong impression.

"Sure." Wan Chu’er said nonchalantly.

After dinner, Wan Chu’er packed up a bucket of pork rib soup, a lunch box of als, and a bag of fruits and snacks, guessing that Xiao Huaili would probably want to go back to his village since he has a sister too.

Jiang Kechu carried his daughter and led his son by the hand, while Wan Chu’er carried the food; the family of four headed to the dical office.

People strolling in the courtyard after their al greeted them and also inquired about their situation.

"Captain Jiang, finished eating?"

"Yes."

"Sister-in-law is carrying so much stuff; where are you going?"

Wan Chu’er couldn’t be bothered to reply, Jiang Kechu simply said, "To the dical office."

"Soone ntioned that people from Huangjia Gully ca to the door this afternoon, sister-in-law didn’t get troubled, did she?" Finally, soone asked the critical question, and the crowd perked up their ears.

Jiang Kechu, always sharp and keen, simply raised his voice and said, "It’s nothing serious; Legendary Mother was just idle and decided to donate a Hope Primary School to Huangjia Gully. The people from Huangjia Gully are very happy, and so am I."

Everyone was stunned.

"What does ’just idle, so donating a school’ an?

Can we not be so capricious?

And Captain Jiang, don’t you have any comnt? Still happy about it, just indulging your wife like that? Also, considering this public display of affection, can you think about your comrades for once?"
