After dinner, Wan Chu’er told An Gang the purpose of her visit and pulled out a floppy disk, which contained the ga’s installation software and source code.
"Brother An Gang, this is a standalone ga I developed during my spare ti. Please help try it out and give so feedback," Wan Chu’er said straightforwardly.
Upon hearing this, An Gang laughed and praised, "Not bad at all. You haven’t been studying programming for a year and you’re already able to develop a ga on your own? Okay, I’ll be your first player. I’ll play it tonight when I get ho."
He thought Wan Chu’er had just developed a small ga and didn’t take it too seriously, thinking it wouldn’t take long to play through it that evening.
However, when he got ho that evening and took out the floppy disk Wan Chu’er gave him, he inserted it into the computer and saw that the installation software was 20MB. He knew that the current hottest Fantasy ga was only 33MB.
He beca cautious and after clicking on the installation, he waited for it to complete automatically before opening the ga’s docuntation to read.
The more An Gang read the docuntation, the more surprised he beca, and he was increasingly eager and rubbing his hands in anticipation.
It looked like it was going to be a fun ga.
Finally, the installation ended, and he quickly ran the executable file. Amidst the pleasant music, a colorful landscape scroll unfolded.
This painting looked very familiar to An Gang. After thinking for a mont, it seed like he had seen it in an art book, likely a work of a great master from the ancient tis, but the colors had been reprocessed, making it look even more beautiful.
He quickly created a character according to his preference and began his journey of battling monsters and leveling up.
After every victorious monster battle, he would acquire so items, and with each level up, his strength increased, fueling his desire to continue conquering and to obtain better rewards, to beco stronger.
Moreover, this ga wasn’t just about fighting monsters and leveling up; there were also small stories that were interesting, sad, or filled with righteous indignation sprinkled throughout, and there was also an ultimate big BOSS sporadically motivating the players.
All of these greatly increased the ga’s appeal and engagent.
As An Gang played, he couldn’t help but exclaim that the developer’s imagination was enormous, thinking, can a ga even be played like this?!
In fact, when Wan Chu’er developed this ga, she had taken a shortcut by adding in popular ga elents from over a decade later. People playing it now might find it quite novel, but in more than ten years, these would be very common.
That night, without realizing it, An Gang played until two in the morning. When he saw the ti, thinking that he had to get up early for work the next day, he reluctantly closed the ga.
Before going to sleep, he slapped himself on the forehead, "Damn, I was so caught up in playing, I forgot about the feedback on the experience that Wan Chu’er asked for." Actually, this ga was pretty good overall, but there were still a few minor bugs during gaplay.
Wan Chu’er was unaware of how An Gang had played the ga; she was battling with her exam preparations.
There were six or seven closed-book exams at the end of the term, and each subject was not easy. Now that she didn’t need to attend classes, she was studying at ho without distinction between day and night. If it wasn’t calculation, it was morizing various formulas, and luckily, the programming course required less effort.
als and such beca irregular again. She would randomly find sothing to eat when hungry, sleep when tired, and apart from her daily one hour of running without fail, all her ti was spent on revision.
This sester, she had spent too much ti on the developnt of that ga, leaving her to rely on these few days of revision for her coursework.
