Chapter 44: Chapter 41: Processing Results (Second Update)

Xu Yan, ng Qing, and Deng Tao were brought to the office.

The horoom teacher of Class Six had already understood the general situation; he looked at Deng Tao, and although she hadn’t been the one to initiate the physical confrontation, the cause, process, developnt, and outco of the incident were all closely related to her.

In Class Six, many students criticized Xu Yan, who had now gone from being angry and flustered at the beginning to calm and composed.

Therefore, as soon as she saw Teacher Gao, she was able to articulate the events clearly, and after finishing, she added, “Many people saw ng Qing overturning my desk; my deskmate even tried to stop her, but the drawing… Teacher Gao, I think Deng Tao did it on purpose. She just wanted to destroy this painting.”

What a pity, this was a drawing done for her by Song Jiawen, which fully expressed the mood and emotions she wanted to convey—parts that she herself couldn’t achieve in her own painting. These past few days, she had always been looking at it, repeatedly observing and reflecting, hoping to fill in the gaps in her own painting abilities.

But she hadn’t managed to do so yet when the painting was destroyed.

Thinking of this, Xu Yan’s eyes reddened again, and she lifted her head to glare fiercely at Deng Tao.

She didn’t know if it was intentional, but she was determined to say it was.

Pretending to be so noble every day, do you really think you are so great? If you are that great, why do you need to look at other people’s paintings?

“It was you who started pulling things forcibly; how can you bla Deng Tao?”

ng Qing’s appearance and expression were sowhat disheveled; when Xu Yan had yanked her hair, she had done so with force, then her upper body hit the desk, and she fell to the ground. Her books and stationery scattered onto her, and although being hit by them wasn’t as painful as hitting the ground, it was still embarrassing and awkward.

At this mont, looking at Xu Yan, her eyes could shoot fire.

Xu Yan sneered, “I was pulling forcibly? Whose drawing was it? Besides, her seat is in the middle, and when I ca in, you all saw it. I reached out for the drawing and she saw it too but still clung onto it refusing to let go. What was her purpose if not obvious to ? So people are really as stupid as pigs, being manipulated by others without knowing and still foolishly jumping out, thinking they’re being loyal? Pfft!”

ng Qing’s face changed drastically, and the horoom teacher of Class Six frowned. He was inclined to defend Deng Tao but looking at that torn-in-half sketch on the desk, he opened his mouth, then closed it again.

The sketch was indeed torn while in Deng Tao’s hands, and Xu Yan’s analysis seed quite rational. As an experienced teacher, could he not see a little girl’s subtle sches?

Teacher Gao asked soone to call Xu Yan’s deskmate and, by the way, also asked Song Jiawen to co over.

anwhile, hearing ng Qing defending Deng Tao and upon hearing Xu Yan’s biting sarcasm, he picked up his thermos cup and took a sip of water before finally turning his head to ng Qing, “Was it you who took the drawing from Xu Yan’s desk?”

ng Qing felt a surge of anxiety, from dismissing the significance of Song Jiawen’s painting at the beginning to the irritation from Xu Yan’s physical response, only now did she finally feel a bit of fear.

She looked up at Teacher Gao, pursed her lips, and stayed silent.

“It doesn’t matter if you don’t admit it; Xu Yan’s deskmate will be here soon. If you don’t accept her as a witness, then you can also find so people to testify that you didn’t arbitrarily go through soone else’s desk and take it out to give to soone else.”

In the last sester of the senior year of high school, on an ordinary day Teacher Gao would have minimized the matter, but now the situation wasn’t just a conflict between two students of his class. Instead, one of them was collaborating with students from other classes…

He despised such disloyal behavior, even more so since it involved Song Jiawen.

But from beginning to end, he never once glanced at Deng Tao; she was not his student, and he had no jurisdiction over her.

However, precisely because of his attitude, the horoom teacher of Class Six was in an extrely awkward position.

He couldn’t let Deng Tao leave, but standing here, he didn’t know what to say. Most importantly, Deng Tao was still very proud, indifferent to whatever anyone else said, with a calm and detached deanor, not uttering a single word.

As if the matter truly had nothing to do with her.

The horoom teacher of Class Six sighed. He truly didn’t know what to say about his student.

Xu Yan’s deskmate ca over quickly, and Song Jiawen ca with her.

The cause and process of the incident were the sa as what Xu Yan had described initially. While her deskmate was talking, ng Qing kept her head down and didn’t utter a word, obviously admitting to her actions, with nothing to defend herself.

However, as soon as the person finished speaking, she sowhat defiantly said to Teacher Gao, “Teacher, it’s just a painting, after all. We’re all classmates; can’t I even borrow it to have a look?”

Teacher Gao laughed out of anger, for she still hadn’t realized her wrongdoing.

“No matter what it is, it belongs to soone else, not you; yet you took it without permission—do you know what that’s called? That’s called stealing!”

At the word “stealing,” ng Qing’s face turned pale, and she instinctively glanced at Deng Tao. Unfortunately, the latter had been keeping the sa posture since entering the office, eyes slightly downcast, ignoring everyone else.

“Teacher…”

“So do you still think Xu Yan was wrong for hitting you? What should you do when facing a thief?”

Those words were like a slap to the heart.

ng Qing’s face turned deathly pale, and her stance began to falter. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught a glimpse of Song Jiawen, and suddenly, an idea flashed through her mind.

“Song Jiawen, why don’t you make another painting for Xu Yan? It’s just a painting; you’re not that petty, are you?”

Song Jiawen looked at her coldly, while the anger Xu Yan had been suppressing surged up again, and she glared at ng Qing, saying, “Are you sick? If you’re sick, go ho and get treated; don’t disgust people here.”

Teacher Gao slamd her thermos onto the table and said, “ng Qing, inform your parents to co to school. If they’re too busy, then you should go ho and wait until they have ti to see

before you co back.”

Taking others’ belongings without admitting fault and trying to push the responsibility onto soone else, this was no longer rely a conflict between students; it was a matter of character.

Alerting her parents was already the lightest form of punishnt. No, it didn’t even count as punishnt, considering even the basic punishnt of a school-wide inspection hadn’t been given to her.

But tears began to fall from ng Qing’s eyes; being in grade twelve and still having the teacher call her parents— if she were to tell her mom… She was a little scared, because after telling her, she didn’t know how long her mom would give her the cold shoulder.

“Teacher Gao…”

“Go back ho now; that’s all for this matter. When your parents co, I will discuss further punishnt.”

Teacher Gao no longer looked at ng Qing, but turned to Xu Yan, her deskmate, and Song Jiawen and said, “You three, go back as well. There isn’t much ti until the college entrance exam. Focus on that, remain calm in the face of issues; don’t act impulsively. If you can’t resolve a problem, co to …”

After the advice, Teacher Gao let the three of them leave.

Before leaving, Xu Yan went to pick up the painting that had been torn in half.

Afterward, only ng Qing and Deng Tao were left in the office.

ng Qing looked at Teacher Gao, finally realizing the severity of the situation and understood that Teacher Gao’s decision was unchangeable; wiping her tears, she could only leave the office.

Deng Tao, who had been standing indifferently, finally deigned to glance at ng Qing’s retreating figure.

Then she turned to their class teacher and asked softly, “Teacher, may I go now?”

The class teacher gave her a aningful look and nodded without a word.
