Chapter 399: Chapter 394: Pool Turmoil
Sohow, it was hard to tell if they were simply out of luck or just a bit cursed.
By the ti they arrived on the first day, it was already the afternoon, so they toured the ice sculpture gallery and then found a fairly comfortable hotel to rest. The plan was to go skiing at the ski resort the next day—anyway, it was not far, just half an hour’s drive away.
But who would have thought that it would start snowing in the middle of the night, at first like grains of salt, fine and dense, not too heavy, but after three or four hours, turning into big fluffy snowflakes. By the ti they woke up at seven in the morning to have breakfast, the world outside had transford into a vast blanket of snow.
And the snow wasn’t stopping, with a tendency to get heavier.
Jiang Yan and Mu Jiawen had checked the weather forecast before coming. There was indeed snow in the forecast for the next two days, but it was supposed to be light snow, nothing like the current heavy snowfall covering everything. Blizzards were undoubtedly mixed in with the howling north wind, which whipped the snowflakes into a frenzy and caused the tree branches to quiver chaotically.
In such weather, there was no way they could go skiing.
Not only could they not go skiing, but they couldn’t even leave the hotel.
Fortunately, the hotel was four-star, with free entertainnt facilities like a swimming pool and a gym that they could use. Initially, the second oldest had lanted the cost of spending over four hundred for just one night’s stay—how uneconomical it was, just to sleep.
Now, the blizzard made the expense worthwhile.
“I’ll teach you how to swim,” Jiang Yan said to Mu Jiawen after admiring the snow outside the window for a while, “I’ve never found the ti before, but now that we’re free, wanna go?”
Like Mu Jiawen, the second oldest didn’t know how to swim either, mainly because they were country kids who hadn’t had the opportunity or exposure before. Hearing Jiang Yan’s suggestion, he too began to feel eager.
Hong Jing knew how to swim; she was in charge of teaching the second oldest.
The four of them bought swimsuits at the hotel, changed in their rooms, then put on bathrobes over them to head to the swimming pool.
Outside was a frozen snowy landscape, but inside the hotel’s swimming pool, steam rose, creating a special kind of atmosphere.
At this mont, many people were probably annoyed by the terrible weather outside, so the swimming pool was empty as if they had booked it for themselves.
Jiang Yan first swam a lap of breaststroke to demonstrate, then broke down the movents to explain twice before handing out kickboards to the two of them at the poolside, suggesting they start by practicing kicking.
Mu Jiawen had a good mory. She had pretty much grasped everything Jiang Yan said the first ti, and after a bit of guidance on her kicking, she slowly started to practice, controlling her body movents. At the beginning, she looked very awkward, and her body was quite stiff, but after a few laps, she easily got the hang of it and her kicks were smooth.
With Hong Jing looking after the second oldest, Jiang Yan didn’t interfere and continued teaching Mu Jiawen the next step.
About half an hour later, Mu Jiawen was already swimming a slow breaststroke in the water.
Jiang Yan floated on his back beside her, occasionally pulling her back on course when she swam astray. He was also inwardly marveling at the girl’s strong learning ability; he rarely had to repeat his instructions, and sotis when his explanations were inadequate, she would add to them, robbing him of any sense of achievent as a teacher.
The only fault he could find was to nitpick minor movents, using it as an excuse to stroke her arm a couple of tis—so smooth, her skin soft as eggshells.
Jiang Yan’s gaze drifted downward. Even the most conservative swimsuit couldn’t hide the fully blossod, alluring figure of the girl, curvaceous with a pronounced front and back, and two straight legs that seed to glow white even underwater.
Now the pool wasn’t just occupied by the four of them anymore. About ten minutes ago, a group of five people arrived, three n and two won, obviously together.
Fortunately, they were in the lane at the very edge, a bit of a distance from the four, and the mist from the pool blurred the distance between them, providing a slight sense of space for each other.
It wasn’t until three of the n, who seed to be racing each other, entered the lane where the second oldest and Hong Jing were that, about three minutes later, as Jiang Yan and Mu Jiawen had just swum back to the edge to drink water and rest, they suddenly heard Hong Jing scream.
“Stay here, don’t move.”
After making sure Mu Jiawen understood, Jiang Yan swiftly swam over to where the scream had co from.
From hearing the commotion to his arrival, it barely took half a minute, but by the ti Jiang Yan got there, the second-in-command was already fighting with one of the other guys. Unfortunately, he hadn’t learned how to swim yet, and was clearly at a disadvantage fighting in the water.
Two n and two won were standing by in the next lane, all watching the excitent.
Hong Jing was hugging her shoulders on the edge of the pool, eyes red with either anger or fear.
Jiang Yan went straight over, grabbed the other guy’s neck, and pushed his head underwater, while simultaneously pulling the fallen second-in-command up.
“Damn it…”
Seeing soone co to their aid, the two n who were watching hurriedly waded over to help, but before they could get close, Jiang Yan, taking advantage of his height and long legs, stepped forward and kicked one of them in the stomach.
Under normal circumstances, he didn’t get physical, but when he did, it was always brutal and precise. The kick churned the man’s insides as if they were all mixed up together; he leaned backward and splashed into the water, unable to get up for a long while.
This was sowhat mitigated by being in the water—had it been on solid ground, his body might have been thrown into the air and broken upon falling.
The two won, after a mont of shock, scread and hurried forward to help him up.
Seeing Jiang Yan’s aggressive stance, the other man took two steps back, not daring to approach.
This guy is too ruthless.
Gurgle gurgle…
The head under his hand couldn’t hold on underwater and swallowed a few mouthfuls of water, his limbs flailing wildly, even scratching a bloody mark on Jiang Yan’s wrist.
“Bro, let go, let
handle this.”
The second-in-command, having caught his breath and wiped the water from his face, signaled to Jiang Yan, who then let go of the man. The man quickly lifted his head, gasping for breath, but before he could take more than a few breaths, his face was t with a punch. He slipped and fell back into the water, causing a splash.
The second-in-command pounced and pressed his head under the water again.
“Hey, hey, let go, no fighting…”
The commotion at the pool finally attracted the hotel staff, who feared an incident. Two of them quickly jumped into the water to separate the fighters.
In truth, the second-in-command had already let go as they approached, but after the man had been subrged twice and punched in the face, he was so dizzy and swollen that he couldn’t even rise from the water.
“Bastard!”
When one of his companions helped him up from the water with the assistance of the staff, the second-in-command spit in his face.
The staff were clueless about the situation, and that’s when Jiang Yan pointed upwards to the surveillance cara, “We need the footage from this period; we’re going to call the police!”
The group paled at this, as they well knew what kind of person their companion was. Fighting was one thing, but getting the police involved was much too serious.
“Bro, there’s no need…”
“Who the hell is your bro?”
The staff, fearing another fight, quickly tried to smooth things over, and then a group of them ca out of the pool.
Mu Jiawen had already put on a bathrobe and was coming from the other side, holding their belongings and handing them out one by one.
