Downstairs, Chi Shuyan didn’t know that Grandpa had been berating Qi Zhenbai ever since the old man called him to the study.

Chi Shuyan thought that the man was coming clean with Grandpa.

Her heart pounded and her throat felt tight. She hoped that the man would co clean imdiately, but she was also afraid that Grandpa would be agitated.

Chi Shuyan finished a bowl of hot soup absent-mindedly. Not long after, Second Aunt Qi brought over a big pot and placed it on the table. As she ladled so soup for Chi Shuyan, she said, “Zhenbai’s wife, drink more of this pigeon soup. It’s very good for your body and your child.”

Chi Shuyan, who had just finished a bowl of pigeon soup, was shocked by the pot in front of her. She wanted to say that she wasn’t pregnant, but she didn’t know about the situation upstairs.

Mother Qi ca over and said, “Daughter-in-law, drink more. Drink as much as you can!”

Chi Shuyan nodded with a stiff face. “Yes, Auntie!” She kept looking upstairs, wondering when the man would co down.

“Why are you still calling Auntie? Call Mom!”

With a stiff face, Chi Shuyan, “Yes, Mom!”

Right now, she just wanted him to settle this matter quickly!

If this ‘pregnancy’ misunderstanding dragged on, she would go crazy.

But Grandpa Qi and Qi Zhenbai only ca down together when dinner was served. Chi Shuyan had thought that she would be greeted by a ‘bloodbath’ – who knew that she would see a rosy-cheeked Grandpa and a relaxed-looking Qi Zhenbai co down one after another.

Had this matter been resolved?

Chi Shuyan heaved a sigh of relief in her heart. She couldn’t wait to find out what had happened. Then, she heard Grandpa suddenly say, “Zhenbai, hurry up and take good care of your wife.”

After that, Grandpa Qi said a few more words to Chi Shuyan. He told her to take good care of her body and to be careful. His voice was as gentle as could be.

Chi Shuyan felt that sothing wasn’t right with this developnt. Maybe it was because she drank too much soup, but she didn’t eat much dinner.

Although Qi Zhenbai kept picking up food with his chopsticks, most of them were for his wife. Chi Shuyan patted his arm and said in a low voice, “Stop, I can’t eat anymore!”

When Mother Qi saw that her daughter-in-law only ate a little food, she thought that the dishes weren’t to her liking. Thinking that Chi Shuyan’s taste was a little more special now that she was pregnant, Mother Qi hurriedly asked, “Daughter-in-law, do you want to eat sothing sour or spicy?”

Chi Shuyan paused before she quickly said, “Aun… Mom, I drank quite a lot just now.”

Mother Qi frowned and said, “How can soup fill you up? Shuyan, don’t stand on ceremony at ho. If you want to eat sothing sour or spicy, just tell !”

The other mbers of the Qi family chid in as well.

When Qi Zhenbai heard his wife call “mom” intimately, his cold and stern eyebrows were very soft. There was no trace of his usual coldness at all. The corners of his lips curled up. Seeing that his wife really couldn’t eat anymore, Qi Zhenbai spoke up to help her out.

Mother Qi and the others finally gave up.

After dinner, Chi Shuyan didn’t see Qi Hao. She couldn’t help but ask casually, “Second Aunt, Haozi didn’t co back tonight?”

Second Aunt Qi knew that Zhenbai’s wife had a very good relationship with her son, and only thought that Zhenbai’s wife cared for that boy. Second Aunt Qi bead with joy and said, “That boy sent a ssage. He even borrowed soone else’s phone and said that his phone was broken. He has sothing on today, and will be back in a few days.” Second Aunt Qi sighed and said, “I’ve spoiled that boy too much. Of all days, he should have co back today, no matter what! I’ll definitely scold him tomorrow or the day after!”

Chi Shuyan was afraid that Second Aunt Qi would ntion her pregnancy again, so she found an excuse to leave. At that mont, Mother Qi walked over and said, “Shuyan, you’ll be staying with Zhenbai in his room tonight. But you’re pregnant now, so for the baby’s sake, you can’t ss around!”
