Chapter 9: Chapter 9: Collecting Supplies Chapter 9: Chapter 9: Collecting Supplies Han Yi saw Han Jiaojiao roll her eyes for the first ti.

It was really… too amusing.

Han Jiaojiao sat up straight and ca closer to him, encircling his neck with her arms, “Brother, let’s start gathering supplies quickly. When the teorite cos, many things will be hard to buy. Let’s not let those people from the Han Family know, okay?”

Her breath was sweet and sticky on his jaw, causing Han Yi’s thoughts to run wild.

“Okay, brother will find soone to arrange it.” Han Yi stroked her back, feeling her exquisite curve through her clothes.

Han Jiaojiao added, “Brother, can you get weapons? The Alien Species’ outer skin is very hard and sowhat elastic; knives and clubs won’t easily hurt them. It would be best to use firearms, targeting their chest cavity and head. Oh right, and water, after the appearance of the Alien Species, the city’s water was contaminated, and most of the first batch of people who died were killed by water infections.”

After she finished speaking, she looked very uneasy again, “… If we try to get weapons, won’t we be unable to hide it from the Han Family? … What should we do then? They will definitely investigate Brother…”

Han Jiaojiao knew that Han Yi was in charge of an Armory, which had been handed over to him by Han Dad; however, other uncles from the Han Family also had shares in this Armory. So, if Han Yi touched anything in the Armory, the Han Family would definitely notice.

Han Yi leaned back on the bed, lazily playing with her hair, appearing to be in a good mood, “Does Jiaojiao trust Brother?”

Han Jiaojiao nodded vigorously.

“Then don’t worry.” Chestnut strands twisted around his fingers, “But there is one thing I need Jiaojiao’s help with.”

Han Jiaojiao’s little face imdiately turned serious, and she looked at Han Yi with determination.

“Brother needs a world map marked with the teorite’s range. Can Jiaojiao do that?”

Han Jiaojiao nodded. “I can.”

A precise range might be difficult, but a general one truly wasn’t hard, because after the disaster occurred, a global rescue operation was imdiately launched on the internet. The official website of the operation featured a world map background; once soone received help, a heart would appear at that location, and if the mouse hovered over it, ssages like “Estonia, 11 people rescued” or “Lithuania, 6 people rescued” would display. At a glance, based on the coverage area of the hearts, one could clearly make out a circle centered around the North Pole with diminishing gradients stretching outwards. The outer ring of the circle had red hearts; the closer to the center, the fewer the red hearts, mostly swathes of dead black.

In the following ti, the siblings worked on a supply list together. Han Yi tapped on the keyboard while Han Jiaojiao occasionally added a few words. They stayed close on the bed until lunchti, then ate together happily before Han Jiaojiao happily left Han Yi’s sickroom.

Han Yi waited until his sister left, then reverted to his usual aloof deanor, picking up his phone to make a call.

“I need a batch of goods, hmm… right, I can’t get involved directly. It has nothing to do with the shooting… I’ll notify Yan Xiao’s side. Apart from our own people, don’t let word leak out to anyone…”

As one day passed quickly, Han Jiaojiao lay in bed feeling very secure and at peace. Whether it was her relationship with her brother or their preparations for the apocalyptic world, both were progressing very smoothly, and she was growing more and more confident about the future. In this life, she and her brother could surely stay together, safe and joyful, for a lifeti.

Han Jiaojiao looked at Han Yi’s face and winked at him.

“Brother, good night.”

Han Yi did not open his eyes, but one hand had already slipped under Han Jiaojiao’s blanket, gently holding her hand. The two hospital beds were pushed so close together, they were like a single bed. Han Jiaojiao also held Han Yi’s hand, feeling imnsely happy. Having Brother by her side was truly wonderful.

She slept dreamlessly through the night, sleeping very well.

The next day when Han Jiaojiao woke up, Han Yi was no longer on his hospital bed. Han Jiaojiao, with her groggy eyes, zoned out for a mont before she saw Sister Wu coming in with toiletries.

“Miss, you’re awake.”

Han Jiaojiao rubbed her eyes, “How did I sleep for so long…”

Her alertness had always been excellent, able to wake up imdiately at the slightest rustle or disturbance. It was the kind of instant clarity where there’s no ti for confusion when danger approaches. Unexpectedly, just before returning to the apocalyptic world, not only had her physical fitness regressed, but her alertness had also greatly diminished. Sigh.

Sister Wu had already squeezed toothpaste for her.

“Miss, didn’t you think about it? You woke up at 3:30 yesterday, then you passed out again. You’ve only slept for three or four hours. Your body hasn’t fully recovered yet. It’s good to sleep more to restore your health, ah. After going ho, you should also rest more, go to bed early, and get up late…”

Han Jiaojiao sleepily walked into the bathroom, brushing her teeth while mumbling unclearly, “Where is my brother?”

“Young Master has gone for a physical checkup. If there’s nothing serious, we can be discharged today.” Wu Xuelan’s face was all smiles, “The doctor originally wanted to co in to examine the Young Master, but he didn’t let the doctor co in, because he didn’t want to disturb Miss’s sleep.”

Han Jiaojiao spat out the foam in her mouth, surprised, “Discharged today? But my brother’s wounds haven’t healed yet.”

Wu Xuelan had already started packing up, “The hospital is not as good as ho, you know. There’s the sll of antiseptics everywhere. If you sll it too long, even if you’re not sick, you’ll start to feel ill.”

Han Jiaojiao thought about it and felt it made sense. Han Yi’s wounds just required proper care now. She knew how to change bandages and handle so basic nursing care herself. They didn’t even need to hire a caretaker. Most importantly, the apocalypse was imminent, and many things in the hospital were inconvenient.

After she finished washing up, she simply draped a cape coat over herself and walked out. Sister Wu was busy with her hands and when she saw Han Jiaojiao heading out, she quickly shouted to the outside, “Xiaocheng, Xiaohe, follow the Miss. Don’t go too far.” The last sentence was shouted at Han Jiaojiao.

Outside the door, Aheng was nowhere to be seen, but there were four familiar bodyguards. Han Jiaojiao looked from side to side and asked, “Where did my brother go for the checkup?”

Since one of the bodyguards knew the place, Han Jiaojiao had him lead the way, with another bodyguard following behind. In her previous life, she had been thoroughly annoyed by these people, but this ti, because her mindset was different, she actually felt sowhat proud. Having these people follow her proved her brother cared about her a lot.

She was feeling pleased with herself, but she didn’t expect that while descending the stairs, she would run into soone she really didn’t want to see.

When Su Xue saw Han Jiaojiao, she was montarily stunned, then quickly showed an expression of joy.

“Jiaojiao, it’s great that you’re alright. I ca to see you before, but Sister Wu said you were not feeling well and it wasn’t convenient to et. I was worried all night.”

She walked over naturally, grabbed Han Jiaojiao’s hand, and asked with concern, “Seeing you’re fine now, I feel relieved. I called you, but nobody answered; I sent ssages, but got no reply. It scared the life out of …”

Han Jiaojiao, with so stiffness in her actions, withdrew her hand and replied, “Oh… my phone broke.”

Su Xue felt that Han Jiaojiao’s attitude was a bit cold and found it strange. She looked at Han Jiaojiao dubiously, her face showing worry, “How are you feeling now?… Are you still feeling unwell?”

Han Jiaojiao really didn’t want to deal with her at all. She raised her hand to point to the bandage wrapped around her head, “It still hurts, so I’m off to see the doctor now. Goodbye.”

Su Xue was stunned.

Because after Han Jiaojiao said goodbye, she truly just walked past her, heading straight away!

Su Xue was left standing there, feeling puzzled, embarrassed, and a bit angry, not understanding why Han Jiaojiao was treating her this way.
