In the hospital, the doctor’s expression was stern as his eyes swept over the two of them.
Jian Xi, having just been bandaged, sat to one side.
"Sorry for the trouble."
She had initially refused to see her brother’s friend, but after asking around, she learned he was a miracle worker—the only one in the entire hospital who could treat wounds without leaving scars.
It was Si Yuhuan who had forcibly dragged her here, leading to the current scene.
"This hospital has practically beco your ho, Director Si! You’re a man—can’t you control your temper a bit? Do you have any idea how many injuries she has all over her body? If this continues, she’ll lose her life!"
"Is it that serious?" Si Yuhuan frowned.
The doctor, montarily at a loss for words, then exaggerated, "If she keeps being treated this way, it’s not just her body that’s injured, but her spirit as well."
Her spirit...
So, Jian Xi really does have depressive hallucinatory disorder!
Si Yuhuan asked, "Then how do we treat this condition of hers?"
The doctor, completely bewildered, replied, "Of course, you need to treat her better, ensure she isn’t hard again, and maintain her ntal and physical well-being. Over ti, she will naturally recover."
It seems it’s not incurable.
Si Yuhuan nodded gravely. "Alright."
As the doctor left, he couldn’t help but glance back and mutter to himself, How did this grim reaper change his ways?
Only Jian Xi and Si Yuhuan remained in the consulting room.
"Aren’t you leaving?"
"Waiting for you," Si Yuhuan replied, his answer clean and concise.
She picked up her bag and turned to leave.
Si Yuhuan followed closely behind her.
The mont they stepped out, they saw Jiang Qing.
"Yuhan, Miss Jian, what are you two doing here?"
Jian Xi rolled her eyes to the heavens.
"Oh my, your face?" Jiang Qing exclaid, covering her mouth in shock.
She had heard Si Yuhuan had injured Jian Xi’s face and had co specifically to watch the drama unfold.
"I’m disfigured! Are you satisfied now?" Jian Xi shot a fierce glare back at Si Yuhuan, then shoved past Jiang Qing and left.
"Yuhan, I don’t know what happened. I only ca for a check-up because I wasn’t feeling well."
Si Yuhuan pushed her hand away. "If you’re not feeling well, go see a doctor imdiately. I have things to do, so I’m leaving first."
His indifferent attitude made Jiang Qing boil with resentnt. Previously, if she had so much as a slight headache or fever, he would beco incredibly anxious, even abandoning board etings and contracts worth tens of billions to take her to the doctor. But now! He was actually leaving her to see a doctor by herself!
He didn’t even bother to ask what was wrong with her!
"Jian Xi! I’m not done with you!" Jiang Qing fud, stomping into the hospital in her high heels.
She found the sa doctor Wan Yu had bribed before, the one who had provided that particular dication.
"Write a fake dical report."
Her words alone made the doctor’s legs go weak.
"Miss Jiang, this is no small matter. If I do this, my career could be over."
Jiang Qing sneered. "How much can you earn as a doctor? If you’re willing to do this for , I’ll give you five hundred thousand."
She slapped a check onto the table.
Money makes the world go round.
Moreover, Wan Yu had previously instructed the doctor that if Jiang Qing made any further moves, he should comply, and he would earn an additional sum.
The doctor’s eyes darted around. "What condition do you want it to say?"
"Just say I have myocarditis, caused by years of relentless work day and night. State that I require long-term tonics to nourish my body, and also need care and companionship."
Soon, Jiang Qing walked out of the hospital, proudly clutching the dical report.
The doctor watched her leave and imdiately called Wan Yu.
Jian Xi was forcefully dragged into Si Yuhuan’s car.
Not wanting to see his face, she turned her head to look out the window.
"Haven’t you achieved your goal? Still not happy?" Si Yuhuan’s tone held a trace of a superior bestowing charity, instantly igniting Jian Xi’s anger.
"What goal? Did I ask you to abandon her and chase after ? You’re the one flattering yourself!"
Si Yuhuan’s eyes narrowed, his icy gaze fixed on Jian Xi.
"Just drive properly! And stop trying to intimidate ! If you can’t stand it, then dump here and drive off alone. I’d respect you as a man for that."
Si Yuhuan gritted his teeth, the lines on his handso face hardening. Just as Jian Xi thought he was about to explode with rage, he unexpectedly said, "You want to break the law so you can seize the chance to divorce ? Dream on!"
Seriously?! This man must be insane!
Jian Xi, fuming, decided to ignore him.
Her face throbbed with pain, hurting more than if she had bumped her head.
Back ho, the newly hired housemaid greeted them respectfully. "Madam, Sir, please have so water."
Jian Xi warned her, "I’m the one who hired you with my money. He’s a stranger, a temporary guest. You are not to call him ’Sir’."
"Yes, Madam—I an, Miss Jian."
The housemaid looked apologetically at Si Yuhuan and quickly took back the glass of water she had offered him.
A satisfied smile touched Jian Xi’s lips.
Si Yuhuan saw the happiness her small act brought her and couldn’t help but chuckle.
"Childish."
Jian Xi aid a kick at him.
Si Yuhuan frowned slightly. "Your audacity grows by the day."
He tugged irritably at his tie. Being repeatedly rebuffed was turning his initial amusent into anger.
Jian Xi, understanding his temperant, didn’t retort. "Actually, there’s one way we could coexist peacefully."
"What are you getting at?" Si Yuhuan had a feeling she was up to sothing.
Jian Xi took a sip of water. "You break up with Jiang Qing. Make her get out of the country and go abroad. Then, you can find any other woman you like, and I promise I won’t cause you any trouble."
That’s her idea of a solution?!
Si Yuhuan really wanted to pry open her head and see what it was made of.
Where had that little woman gone, the one who used to get jealous if he so much as glanced at another woman?
The Jian Xi before him now felt like a different soul inhabiting the sa body.
"Shut. Your. Mouth." Si Yuhuan bit out each word through clenched teeth.
Jian Xi shrugged.
It seed there was no room for negotiation. As expected, he flew into a rage the mont Jiang Qing was ntioned.
Just how infatuated is he with Jiang Qing?
When the maid announced dinner was ready, Jian Xi put down her bowl after only a few bites.
This alard the new housemaid.
"Miss Jian, is my cooking not to your liking? Please tell your preferences. I’m quite skilled in the kitchen."
With such a high salary, a job like this is hard to find elsewhere. She truly cherished this position.
Jian Xi gave a wry smile. "It’s not your cooking; I’m just not feeling well."
Across the table, Si Yuhuan put down his chopsticks and imdiately stood up. "Does your wound hurt?"
Jian Xi, who had been about to retort, "What’s it to you?" hesitated for a mont, then nodded.
Si Yuhuan turned and walked out the door.
The housemaid paused, stunned.
This couple...
"It’s nothing," Jian Xi said with self-deprecation. "He just has a foul temper. You’ll get used to it. We’re hardly a couple, just strangers legally bound by a marriage certificate."
If it were Jiang Qing, he’d probably be deeply concerned.
I shouldn’t have shown weakness just now. Damn it, why did I even say it hurt? Instead of concern, I just earned his annoyance.
"What was that, slamming the door?! If you’ve got the guts, then divorce !" Jian Xi shouted.
The front door opened.
Si Yuhuan stood there, holding several plastic bags.
Seeing this, the housemaid quickly and discreetly retreated.
When deities battle, mortals retreat.
