Si Yuhuan raised his hand, and Yan Qing fanned the flas.

"This man is going too far! He definitely tricked the lady. He wants her to be a stepmom to his son while he’s out all day networking, busy with his art, leaving her to take care of the house and raise his son!"

Well said. Si Yuhuan nodded in satisfaction.

Yan Qing was pleasantly surprised. Looks like this salary increase is a sure thing!

Just when they thought Jian Sirun, the sister-protecting maniac, would surely fly into a rage and go split them up, Jian Sirun unexpectedly approached Si Yuhuan. He patted Si Yuhuan’s vein and inserted the needle. "Anti-inflammatory. It has a cooling effect."

HISS—

That really hurt!

Si Yuhuan furrowed his brows and couldn’t help asking, "Your technique is so unprofessional. Can you really perform surgery on people?"

"I perford your surgery, didn’t I? What do you think?" Jian Sirun retorted, then turned and left, slamming the door behind him with the dical record in hand.

Yan Qing nodded. "Right! You fainted then. The lady was afraid sothing serious would happen, so she called him."

Si Yuhuan fud, "They’re deliberately targeting !"

This damned place! I’m definitely never coming back here.

"Director Si, it seems this tactic doesn’t work on him! Could it be that people who study dicine all have...? Problems?"

Si Yuhuan shot him a glare.

Yan Qing nodded, standing by. "How about you try it on soone else, Director Si?"

Si Yuhuan pinched his aching forehead. "He’s just a painter. What’s so difficult to resolve?"

Yan Qing nodded again. True. Could he possibly be more troubleso than Fu Shengyuan?

Jian Xi had just gotten ho when she received a call from Fu Shengyuan.

"I hear you’ve been going on blind dates recently?"

Jian Xi didn’t hide it. "Yeah, I have a boyfriend now."

"Zhang Yaxuan, the painter?" Fu Shengyuan asked with a smile.

Was it Jian Xi’s imagination, or was there a profound aning behind his laugh? Jian Xi was uncertain about what this man was thinking. "Yeah."

"Alright," Fu Shengyuan continued, "I respect every decision you make, but you two won’t last long."

His overbearing nature was revealed—an unyielding dominance.

Jian Xi bit her red lip and laughed. "We’ll cross that bridge when we co to it."

"Xixi," Fu Shengyuan said, his voice deepening, "I won’t let you go."

"So you’re planning to force into marriage?" Jian Xi asked.

Fu Shengyuan’s voice was low, as if suppressing sothing. "In Beijing, no one would dare issue you a marriage certificate."

Jian Xi knew he wasn’t joking. The Fu Shengyuan of today was vastly different from his past self; he was now the king of Beijing! Jian Xi had no say in what he wanted to do, even with the backing of the Jian Group and the Yaowang Group. Being the richest man was no joke!

"Fine then," Jian Xi said. "We won’t get married; we’ll just keep dating. Honestly, President Fu, I hope you won’t waste your energy on . A woman like isn’t worth your trouble."

Not wanting to waste words, Jian Xi hung up the phone, her chest heaving with anger. That bastard! So what if you’re the richest man! Soday, I’ll be one too!

「In the blink of an eye, a week passed」

The board eting Si Weixun and Si Junyan had scheduled was held as planned.

Rumors of infighting within the Si Family were rampant. It was widely speculated that Haohan Group was on the verge of collapse, though no one knew who would ultimately pick up the pieces.

Wan Yu urged Jian Xi, "Aren’t you going to watch the excitent? I hear Haohan Group is surrounded by people right now."

Jian Xi shook her head but was very curious. "What about Si Yuhuan?"

"He’s in the hospital, of course," Wan Yu replied. "With him in that state, could he possibly show up at the board eting? If he did, I’d have to respect him as a true man—that would be incredibly badass!"

Jian Xi felt a pang of desolation. To think, he was once the richest man and the Head of the Si Family. Now, it was as if none of it had anything to do with him anymore.

"Later," Jian Xi suggested, "let’s go visit Grandpa."

It had been a long ti since she last saw Old Master Si. Knowing he was recovering well, Jian Xi hadn’t proactively gone to see him. She was genuinely afraid that if they t, he would try to persuade her to remarry Si Yuhuan. That would only lead to unpleasantness, and it was unnecessary.

By the ti they arrived at the sanatorium, the caregiver who had been looking after him rushed out. "Miss Jian, you’re here! Thank goodness! Old Master Si is missing!"

"What? Grandpa’s missing?" Jian Xi exclaid.

They exchanged a look; this had to be related to the turmoil within the Si Family. They imdiately drove to Haohan Group.

「Haohan Group.」

Si Junyan sat in the CEO’s office, beaming with pride. His secretary, Xiaoli, was fawning over him, nestled coquettishly in his arms and caressing his chest. "Victory is already yours, sir! You’ll definitely crush that overconfident fool Si Weixun."

"Such a sweet talker!" Si Junyan leaned in for a wild kiss, almost leaving Xiaoli breathless before he finally let go. "So sweet."

Xiaoli cooed as she embraced him. "How about I find us a nice restaurant for tonight? We can have a few drinks and then... do sothing interesting? I’ve bought lots of fun things, just waiting to enjoy them with you!"

"You little vixen!" Si Junyan felt a tightening in his lower abdon and pinched her butt. "Go get ready. Just wait and see how I’m going to dominate everyone."

"Yes, sir!" Xiaoli replied, her face a mask of admiration as she withdrew. The mont she was out the door, however, her expression turned icy.

Glancing at the USB drive she had just swapped, she gave a sinister smirk.

A person hurried over and asked quietly, "Is it done?"

Xiaoli demanded, "Where’s what I asked for?"

"Everything’s right here." A small package was handed to her.

Xiaoli handed over the USB drive. "I hope he keeps his end of the bargain."

"Definitely."

Xiaoli quickly headed to the elevator. The mont the elevator doors closed, a surge of intense hatred bubbled up in her eyes.

「The board eting.」

Si Junyan strode into the room, his eyes sweeping over everyone seated in perfect order. He swaggered to the head seat, shot a challenging look at Si Weixun, and said with a smirk, "Let’s begin."

Where’s Xiaoli? Si Junyan frowned, deeply dissatisfied with her. He completely dismissed her and continued with the eting.

"Today’s main agenda involves two items: selecting the Si Family Head and choosing the new leader for Haohan Group. Though they are two items, they are essentially one. Simply put, whoever can bring the most profit to Haohan Group and secure the most support from the board of directors will be the ultimate winner. Si Weixun, are you ready?"

Si Weixun smiled faintly at him. "My dear nephew, you are far too arrogant. Si Yuhuan wasn’t even half as conceited as you. With Haohan Group in your hands, how could anyone rest easy?"

"Cut the nonsense! So what if I’m arrogant? Should I be like you, gloomy and cunning as an old fox? Haohan Group needs a true pillar like , soone daring enough to break the old and build the new!"

"Would the shareholders of Haohan Group have made so much money without ?" Si Junyan said with a proud face. "The dividends I’ve distributed are far greater than what Si Yuhuan ever gave you."

A director interjected, "But Haohan Group is no longer number one in China. It has plumted to the bottom ranks."

The directors’ expressions grew increasingly grim, and more of them began to lean towards Si Weixun.

Si Junyan didn’t want to debate further. He shot a aningful glance at a few directors he had already bribed.

A director imdiately stood up. "We’re not interested in the Si family’s squabbles, nor do we want to hear another word about Si Yuhuan! We only care about the profits in our pockets. The Second Young Master has a point: Haohan Group might not seem as prominent as it once was since he took charge, but we’ve all reaped tangible benefits. We support the Second Young Master as the Family Head and to lead Haohan Group!"
